A Sweet Moment

Sweet As Candy!

"And then I finally pulled off the spell, but... I kinda turned one of Twilight's bookshelves into candy." Oak admitted. He was embarassed, and sitting on Pinkie's bed. Pinkie was sitting next to him, and they were in Pinkie Pie's bedroom in Sugarcube Corner. Oak looked like an Earth Pony with purple eyes and a purple mane like Twilight's, but his mane was styled like Applejack's. He did that on purpose, because he liked Applejack, like how Scootaloo's mane looked like Rainbow Dash's. He had black scales on his body, and he wasn't actually a pony. He was a Shadow Dragon, and his hat was a straw hat with a red band that used to be Applejack's tail band.
"Ahahahahahahaha!" Pinkie laughed.
"The books were okay, they fell in the candy pile instead of being turned into candy. Twilight couldn't dispel the transformation magic I'd used, so I had to eat all the candy while she went out to get a new bookshelf. But it's okay, because I like eating lots. Especially candy."
Pinkie Pie laughed so hard she fell over.
Oak watched her, completely fascinated, and kept watching her until she stopped laughing.
"You're so beautiful when you laugh." Oak said, blushing a little.
"Awwww! Thanks." Pinkie said.
"And, um... You laugh a lot." Oak commented. He wasn't sure what to say. He needed to read more of Twilight's romance novels, so he'd know how to talk to mares.
"Yeah. When you laugh, you can be happy! And when you're happy, you laugh!" Pinkie said happily.
"Why is that?" Oak wondered.
"I don't know, but laughing feels nice." Pinkie said, shrugging. "It helps you face your fears, and it helps you feel better when you're sad! So whenever you're feeling scared or sad or blue, just laugh, and make all your worries disappear!"
Oak frowned. "But if I laugh when I'm sad, I'll look like an idiot!"
"That's not true!" Pinkie said, laughing. "And if anyone thinks you're an idiot, they're just too stupid to know how smart you really are. So laugh at them, too!"
Oak realized something. "You really are a smart pony!" Oak realized. "Some ponies around town called you stupid, and one asked me if I was taking stupid lessons from you."
Pinkie laughed.
"I kicked his butt and turned him into candy." Oak laughed, and Pinkie imagined an incredibly angry chocolate bar wobbling back and forth while it screamed internally. She laughed, and he laughed too, taking it to mean that she didn't mind how he ate him once he was chocolate, so he could never say anything mean about Pinkie Pie again.
"Okay, wow. I wish I knew that spell!" Pinkie said.
"I could make you a magic candy amulet!" Oak said happily. "My kind are said to be super-awesome at gemcrafting. Even though I haven't found out how to do it yet."
"OOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHH! That sounds fun!" Pinkie said. "Now, laugh for me."
"But... I can't make myself laugh." Oak said sadly.
"Sure you can!" Pinkie said, jumping on him. And then she tickled him, making him laugh even more. And then she suddenly pulled away, letting him keep going on his own.
"Okay, um..." Oak concentrated for a moment, frowning. He breathed in. "A HA HA HA HA HAAAA, A HA HA HA HA HAAAA!" He forced out badly.
He stopped, realizing that it sounded awful. He looked at Pinkie, expecting to see her look disgusted, but...
She looked happy, and proud of him. "Good job!" She said, patting him on the head and ruffling his mane just the way he liked it.
He tried again. "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" He yelled.
Pinkie laughed, and it sounded much more natural. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" She laughed.
He tried to sound like her, and it sounded better. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" He laugh-yelled.
She laughed again. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" She laughed.
So did he. "HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" He laughed.
The two ponies kept on laughing and laughing in their rooms. Mrs Cake went up to see what they were doing, but when she saw them just laughing and doing nothing else, she got confused and walked away. She liked her, but she just didn't understand her sometimes.
But Pinkie and Oak sensed this, she sensed it with her tail and Oak heard her heartbeat, and they kept on laughing at a joke only they got. They understood each other, and she was glad to finally have somepony that truly understood her. And Oak? He was just happy to have such a sweet and wonderful pony that was always so nice to him, and her understanding him was nice, too. "AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
They stopped laughing after a while. "I like you." Oak said happily, hugging her.
"Aaawwwww! I like you too!" Pinkie said, hugging back. They hugged tightly for a long while, and then started to giggle at the joke only they understood again. And then he kissed her suddenly on the cheek, and they giggled as she blushed.
"So... That spell can really turn ANYTHING into candy?" Pinkie asked.
"Eeeeyup!" Oak said happily.
Pinkie rushed to her closet, reached her whole body in more than she should have been able to -was it bigger on the inside?- and pulled out a huge red empty present box with a big pink ribbon. "Turn this box into candy! DoitdoitdoitdoitdoitdoitdoitdoitdoitdoitDOIIIIT!"
"Okay!" Oak said happily, focusing his power. He concentrated, and a single horn grew out of his head, without the swirl. He concentrated harder, and it got the swirl a normal Unicorn's horn had.
"Ha! Horn-y." Pinkie laughed. Oak laughed, too, because it was a horn, and Horn-y was a silly name for a dog. It was like calling a hat Hat-y.
Oak's horn glowed with a bright purple light, just like Twilight's horn, mostly because he'd based his horn on hers, and he shot a magic beam at the box.
The box glowed, and exploded outwards in the form of tiny sherbert bonbons with pink flavour powder on them, big lollipops with rainbow-coloured swirls, and tiny lemon drops with flavour gel inside.
"WOOOHOOOOOOO!" Pinkie yelled happily, eating them up with her super-long Earth Pony tongue. Oak joined her, his tongue extending, and they kept eating until they'd eaten everything and their tongues wrapped around each other, pulling them in for a surprising kiss. Their eyes widened in surprise, and then they pulled away from each other, blushing while looking back at each other.
Pinkie kissed him on the cheek, and Oak grinned, kissing her back.
"Wanna go turn more stuff into candy?" Pinkie asked.
"Do I!" Oak yelled, and then they ran outside on a stuff-transforming candy-eating spree. Ponyville would forever remember this day as the Sugar Apocalypse, and they blamed magically-mutated Parasprites.
