//------------------------------// // Discord's return // Story: The Shipping Game // by The Corn //------------------------------// Celestia knew this day would come. Although, it seemed so soon, (despite the fact over 1000 years had passed). Discord. The combination of several different animals that had been inflicted upon her all those years ago, only to be dismissed within a blink of an eye, had now returned to Celestia's life once again. He was yet, just another villain for her and her sister, Princess Luna, to defend their subjects from. Anypony that may have read upon these events would know that Discord had been turned to stone. Maybe, they would have read further to find that Discord was the spirit of chaos and disharmony and that he had tried, and failed, to gain control of Equestria. But what nopony would have read about is the past between Celestia and Discord. Even if a pony would have stumbled across it, it would have just been passed off as proper gander and left as that. But now, after all those years, Discord had returned. Of course Celestia could have just used her magic to turn him back to stone. But Discord's magic was much stronger than hers, besides, it just didn't feel... Right. Celestia had regretted her decision to turn Discord to stone, life was boring without him, especially after she had to banish her own sister to the moon. She had nopony to talk to, and nothing particularly interesting to do. Discord was so much fun to have around. But he had to be defeated, if he wasn't, how could she know that he wasn't going to destroy the whole of Equestria? It was a safety precaution that had to be taken. He had just gone to far. It was a shame really. He was just too much fun! The Princess didn't want to send Discord back to stone. After more than 1000 years of boredom Discord was back, but now Celestia was expected to send him back to his stone prison, where he was thought to belong. She couldn't do it. It wasn't fair. Discord was here once again, bringing some excitement into life, and yet here she was, expected to destroy her one and only love. She thought for a long while. What if she didn't have to? She had used the elements of harmony the first time Discord attacked, and now she no longer wielded them. She could always pretend that she didn't have the capability of turning Discord back to stone. She would employ the new elements of harmony to face Discord. This way, she didn't have to. Hopefully, Discord would see that he couldn't win, and give up so that the elements no longer needed to be used. Things would be a lot more fun with him around. But what if he didn't give up? The elements would just turn him to stone like before, and things would go back to their usual, boring state. But, at least this time things would be different. She had her sister to talk to this time. It had to be done. It was unfortunate that the elements had to be used, but Celestia felt as though she had no other choice.
