"Are you sure you want to tell her, i'm a little scared she won't accept us..." Aria said looking down, her palms were sweaty because of the pressure that was being ignited, Aria and Sonata were both on the front porch steps of Sonata's mother's house, they were coming to help Sonia to cook a big turkey for Thanksgiving, Sonata hugged Aria and proceeded to kiss her.
"Don't worry my love, everything will be alright... I hope" Sonata said a little worried due to the fact that she has no idea whether her mom is an open minded person. Sonata remembers when she was a 9th grader, Sonia had always bothered her to look for a boyfriend instead of hanging out with Aria so much.
Flashback:
14 year old Sonata was on her couch texting Aria, she always enjoyed her company. The two would text each other day and night, wondering what activities they are doing, and always blindly flirting with each other.
Sonata: I wish you were in my place.
Aria: I miss you.
Sonata: No, really. I do. I can't believe you skipped school, I really wanted to be with you today.
Aria: Yeah, it was a tough decision. Sitting through classes, or serenading my gorgeous best friend.
Sonata: You never cease to flatter me, Aria.
Aria: Hey Sonata...
Sonata: hmmm?
Aria: I still miss ya...
Sonata: I just saw you in the early in the morning.
Aria: I know. But I miss you..
Sonata: I miss you too :hug:
At that moment, Sonata's mother came walking down the stairs. "Who are you texting?" Sonia asked with a mild stare, Sonata's eyes shot up and looked directly at her mother.
"Oh, i'm just texting Aria" Sonata said a little nervous.
"I never see you text anybody other than Aria." Sonia said narrowing her eyes, you could be texting a boy, or even dating one..."
"Aria's my best friend, of course I'll text her, me and her are very close!" Sonata said as she stood up looking very intimidating.
"Don't use that tone on me young lady, one day your gonna find a boyfriend, I want to see my grandchildren one day" Sonata gulped to this, she didn't know yet, but she wasn't that interested in boys, especially from Canterlot High.
"Now come on and help me with the dinner that i'm preparing for us. I'm making your favorite, Soft Tacos with beef mixed with cheese". Sonia said as she walked into the kitchen. Sonata sighed and picked up her phone that was hiding inside the couch.
Sonata: Hey, sorry I gotta go now, I'll see you tomorrow.
Aria: Aww... I'll miss you i miss you glomping me
Sonata: I know, I wish we had more time to talk.
Aria: I don't want you to leave, I want to talk you more.
Sonata: We'll see to each other at school tomorrow.
Aria: See you tomorrow.
End Flashback:
Sonata sighed and knocked on the door, there was a clicking and clacking, Sonia opened and the door and smiled, happy to see her daughter.
"Sonata!" Sonia then pulled her daughter into a rib crushing hug "It's so nice to see you, after so many months, Happy Thanksgiving!"
"I just visited here last week!" Sonata protested.
"Oh, yeah I forgot" Sonia replied. She then looked towards Aria, who was standing behind Sonata.
"Hello Aria..." Sonia smile soon began to fade.
"H-hi Ms. Dusk" Aria said reaching to shake hands with her, Sonia shakes Aria's hand with a soft but firm grip.
"Sonata didn't tell me that you were coming here" Sonia said a little confused.
"Well I'd figured that we might need more help making the Thanksgiving turkey and the other food that we're going to prepare" Sonata said.
"Hmmm, very well, come in come in!" Sonia said cheerfully as she went inside.
"Nice cover..." Aria whispered as she pecked Sonata's cheeks behind Sonia's back.
"Thanks" replied Sonata blushing, The three went in and walked into the huge kitchen, Sonia always was a huge decorator, the kitchen had a silver colored theme to it.
"This is a lovely kitchen you have Ms. Dusk, I can't believe you redecorated it" Aria said looking baffled.
"Yeah thanks, I finished it just last week" Sonia said as she showed a prideful grin.
"Alright here's what were gonna do" Sonia said with a commanding voice, "Sonata and me will make the turkey while you help cook the mash potatoes and chicken, and other foods". Sonia said
"Oh Okay, I know how to cook those" Aria said.
"Okay mom, I'll get the turkey from the freezer" Sonata said
"Be careful honey, It's a little heavy" Sonia said worried.
"I will mom, pinky promise!" Sonata said, walking away and going downstairs to get the turkey from the freezer.
"Sooo Aria..." Sonia said, looking at her.
"Yeah?" Aria asked, puzzled at her response.
"Does Sonata have any crushes, does she have a boyfriend" Sonia said, Aria felt like her veins had been frozen.
"Ooh u-um, I don't think so, not that I know of... "Aria couldn't believe it, she lied through her teeth.
"Hmm, that's weird. She never talks about that kind of thing in front of me". Maybe she's very shy.
"Yeah, um, maybe" Aria said, trying to switch the topic. At that moment Sonata comes back with a frozen turkey.
"Here you go mom!" Sonata said happily.
"Thanks sweety" Now we can get down to some serious business...
A few hours later... A/N: Sorry I didn't want to bore you guys like a cooking manual.
The Thanksgiving dinner had been finally made, since there was only three people there was less food but tons of deliciousness. There was a Rigatoni dish, a side of traditional mash potatoes with gravy. Four chicken legs, and to top it all off, a Golden Brown Roasted Turkey.
"Wow, this absolutely looks delicious you guys" Aria said looking at Sonata and Sonia.
"Yeah, great job mom, the Turkey looks so fabulous".
"Well I tried my best" Sonia said as she scooped some food and placed it on their plates.
"DIG IN!" Sonia said cheerfully. The trio sat on their chair munching on their Thanksgiving meals happily, when Sonia decided to break the conversation.
"Sonata honey?" Sonia said.
"Yeah mom?" Sonata asked.
"Now that you've graduated, what do you intend to do?" Sonia asked. Sonata starred down at her meal.
"I don't really know" Me, Adagio and Sonata still have our band to work on, were going to write a few songs and whatnot". Sonata said.
"Do you have a special someone in your life..." Sonia said, Aria heart had skipped a beat due to the question that Sonia asked.
"No...what do you mean?" Sonata said worried.
"You know what I mean, do you have a boyfriend?" Sonia asked very hopeful, Sonata groans to this question.
"No mom... I'm in love with someone else..." Sonata said secretly staring at Aria.
"Who do you like, Is it a guy from the Football team, Is a guy out of town, Is it a foreign guy!" Sonia suddenly became irritating, all of a sudden Aria broke her silence.
"SHE'S WITH ME ALRIGHT, I'M HER LOVER AND HER FIANCE!". Aria said in a fit of rage slamming her hands on the table.
"....." There was a deep dark look in Sonia's eyes, she was both shocked and silenced at Aria's words, she turned to face Sonata who was across the table from her, her face was covered by her hands, waiting for her mother's reaction.
"Sonata... D-does that mean your a l-lee-lesbian?" Sonia said with a look of being surprised. Sonata began to form tears in her eyes, Aria walked towards her Fiancee for emotional support and comforted her.
"Yes, I'm not interested in men, i'm in love with Aria, she proposed to me a few days ago. I want to be by her side, she's my soul mate, she takes care of me, and showers me with affection and compassion". Sonata then grabs Aria's hand and kisses it, Aria face's soften a little bit by the sweet kiss of her future Wife, Sonia felt a little sweetened by this, but also felt angered because Aria proposed to her angel without permission.
"Why didn't you say something, I would have supported your decision to be and marry Aria!". Sonia said. Sonata and Aria looked directly at Sonia, shocked by her statement.
"You would!" Aria and Sonata both said in unison. Sonia stood up and walked towards her daughter and sat next to her alongside Aria.
"Sonata, even though I'm a little bit mad about you keeping this a secret, I want you to happy, that's all I want from you, a mother's love last's forever and I'll always support you and your decisions, You have my blessing.
Sonata was amazed by her Mother's answer, after all these years of hiding in the closet. She finally came out to her mother, she then proceeded to give her mom a warm hug, Aria also hugged Sonia lightly.
"Thank you so much mom for being so understanding our of my relationship with her." Sonata said wiping off her tears.
"Just one more thing" Sonia asked.
"Yeah" Sonata and Aria said together.
"So am I to expect grandchildren from this?" Sonia said smiling.
"MOM!!!!" Sonata's face of horror was too much for Sonia, as she bursted out laughing.
"Now don't look at me that way Sonata. I said someday, not today or next month".
"Can we just continue eating please!" Sonata said, groaning rubbing her head blushing.
"She's right, you know" Aria said, shrugging her shoulders.
"Fine, but we'll talk about it later, oh and by the way Aria, if you're going to marry my daughter, you're going to take our name" Sonia said.
"Alright, I didn't really like my last name anyway." Aria said, shrugging her shoulders, the trio began to finish eating their Thanksgiving meal, happy that Sonata's secret was finally out to her mother.
