Chapter 13

Bliss. I felt bliss. Fluttershy was still holding me tightly when I finally got up and looked around. Everything was peaceful, Twilight was sleeping soundly, and so was Fluttershy. Everything was perfect. Until I looked out the window. I saw a tree. A normal tree, other than one thing. It was on fire. The lightning storm last night! Lightning must have struck the tree! But why didn't we wake up? That can be answered later. "Twilight! Wake up! The tree outside is on fire! We have to put it out!"

She jumped up quickly, more alert than I thought she would been. We ran outside, and went to the tree. Why didn't other citizens take care of it? I ran into Sugarcube Corner and got a couple of buckets of water, which Twilight used to put out the fire. You'd think that a few buckets wouldn't have been enough, but it was plenty. She used it in just the right way. She would throw the water on the fire, then use her magic to collect the steam and compact it until it cooled back into water, where she would use it again on the tree. She could have done it with a single cup. It was impressive. I wasn't the only one who thought so.

"Twilight, good to see you as healthy as ever. I wanted to tell you a little thank you." I turned to the sound of the voice, coming from a light blue-haired girl with a blue crescent moon as a cutie mark. She was enchanting at first, her voice so alluring, but I quickly snapped out of it. "Trixie! You're back? What are you here for now?" Twilight said. She had a bit of an annoyed tone to her voice. This was going to be bad.

"Oh don't be angry. I didn't come here for hostilities." "Really now? Then why are you here? Should I kick you out of town again?" I had heard what had happened with the Ursa Minor, but it seems there was something after that between them. Something... odd. Twilight didn't sound like her usual self. Her horn was glowing purple. "If you are going to threaten me, I won't stand for it. I didn't come here to fight," Trixie said. Twilight's reply was not helpful. "Well them. leave!" She said, and shot a shockwave out, pushing Trixie back. Trixie's horn started glowing as well. "Fine then, a fight you shall have." She held out her hand, and a large jolt of lightning fired from it at Twilight, where she jumped to the side. "What is up with you two? Stop fighting! Stop or I will make you!"

"You think you can stop me, the Great and Powerful Trixie? A mere human? Don't make me laugh." With that, she fired an energy blade at Twilight, who blocked with an energy barrier and fired back. I couldn't stand up to them. I ran off in the direction of Rainbow's house to get the swords again to try and stop them. I arrived yelling. "Rainbow, the swords, I need them, NOW!" "Huh? The swords? What for?" She asked, but I didn't have time to explain. "Just bring them down, or we will have a massive problem on our hands! Come with me, too!" She brought down the swords and gave them to me, and I took off running, her chasing after me. "Okay, Rainbow, get Rarity an Applejack, bring them to town square, alright?" "Wait just a minute, what is all the running for?!" "Twilight and Trixie. They're fighting." I could see the concerned look in her eyes as she flew off. I ran to town square--- I had to stop them.

They were still fighting when I arrived. Neither looked tired. It was amazing what determination could do to someone. "Stop fighting! I mean it!" I ran in between them. They were in mid-spell. The fear in Twilight's eyes was easy to see. She couldn't stop. "MOVE!!!" She screamed.

It was too late.

Lightning from both sides struck. I did the most instinctual thing--- I blocked. Holding out both swords, the lightning ran between them. It never did fade away. The swords were electrified permanently. Everyone but Pinkie at that point was watching. Lightning arched through them. It was amazing. And terrifying. And it was odd. I felt powerful- And happy. I can stop them. I already did.
