When I woke up I turned to see that my marefriend was not in bed next to me. “Twi, where are you? I need cuddling.” I cried out waiting for my mare to come back.
She walked in with two plates in her magical grasp, “I made you breakfast in bed. You know I wouldn’t leave you alone in bed unless I have a reason to, right Rainbow?” She stared at me and I smiled.
“I know I just don’t like it when you don’t wake me up and tell me.” I said looking at the lavender mare. She moved to my left and set down a plate that was filled with a short stack of pancakes with two scrambled eggs. I smiled at the breakfast of deliciousness and dug my snout right into the plate. “You didn’t have to do this, Twi.” I said as bits of food flew out of my mouth.
“Yes I do, this one of the only days that we actually have time for each other. It’s hard being a princess and with you being gone with the wonderbolts at least once every week. All I can ever really think about is you my love.” she smiled and began to snuggle up .
“I know it’s the same with me, Twilight.” I put a hoof out, “Well, why don’t we make this day worth it.”
“What are your plans for this beautiful day.” she asked looking at me.
“I don’t know. How about a walk then a night out on the town? And then I will have a little surprise for you” I said looking at the mare.
“Sounds great! Let’s do that, wait a surprise.” she smiled and leaned in for a kiss. I gladly accepted it and she fell on to me. Her warm coat touching mine as we laid there I began to think of the day ahead of us. She broke the kiss, “I love you, Rainbow.” I pulled her in closer to me and got another kiss more passionate than the last.
“Yes a surprise, but you will have to wait until later, I love you too, Twi.” I said after breaking the kiss. “I was thinking that we could go for a little romantic walk around Ponyville then later tonight go out to Canterlot for some dinner.” I looked to my lavender alicorn with a smile.
“Since when did you get so soft and cute, Rainbow?”She asked with a little giggle.
“Oh, well Rarity had this new conditioner and it makes my mane like Twenty percent softer, now my cuteness that just comes from you my love.” I blushed when I saw my lavender mare looking at me with her purple eyes. I then got a passionate kiss in return for the compliment I gave her.
“Well that’s cool I guess. Now shall we pack up somethings for our little walk this morning? Oh and do you want to walk over to the beach for a little picnic and lunch?” She asked looking at me.
“Yeah, let’s do that.” I got up from bed and trotted out to the kitchen. Colt, I keep forgetting how big this castle is. I thought to myself. It was an amazing castle and I loved it the only thing was adjusting from my cloud home to living in Twilight’s castle. It was so big I get lost almost every time I walk these halls. I finally made my way to the kitchen and I saw that Twilight had already packed up a basket. “How do you find your way through here so quickly?”
“Teleportation spell, I had to learn my way through these halls pretty quickly. Mostly making a mental map of the place.” Twi smiled. I smiled back. I was kind of mad that she was smarter than me, but I learned to get over it, and I began to love that about her. Although she can still use some work on her flying.
We finished packing and we headed out the door. As Twi opened the door I could feel the breeze of the morning through my mane. I had the urge to take flight, but I was stopped by myself looking at my marefriend. Not right now, Rainbow. You're grounded for today. It’s a special day with your very special somepony. You can fly tomorrow with her as a little flight lesson. I thought to myself. “You ready for our little trot around Ponyville?” I asked my mare standing next to me. She nodded and began to trot outside motioning for me to follow. Oh my Celestia, it was such a great day to walk around PonyVille. There was not a cloud in sight, nothing but the crystal clear blue sky. I can feel the warmth of Celestia’s sun waking me up and I stretched out my wings and laid one across my mare. She smiled and nuzzled up next to me. This is what we have been needing. A day just to ourselves. I thought to myself as I pulled her closer to my body. “I love you, Twi.”
“I love you too, Rainbow.” She smiled as we continued our trot down to Sugarcube Corner.
We were then greeted by Pinkie Pie. “Hey, you two. What you guys up to at this morning?” Said Pinkie with a smile.
“We’re going out for a little romantic trot around Ponyville.” Said Twilight looking at me and smiling. I blushed and nodded.
“That sounds great! You guys can stop by at anytime if you want something. Alright?” Said the pink mare looking at me and Twi. We nodded and continued our trot.
As we walked over to Rarity’s Boutique, we saw two ponies that were some good friends of ours Flare Burn and Jeribear; so we decided to wave to them. We waved hello, “Thanks for the conditioner Rarity.”
“Oh darling you’re welcome. What are you two up too?” Rarity said as she trotted over to Twi and I.
“We’re just heading to the beach for a romantic trot.”
“Oh may I come along?” Rarity asked while already wearing her sun hat, some white shades, and sunscreen on her snout.
“Oh uhm sorry Rarity, but we want it to be just us.”
“Oh I understand you just want to be alone with each other, I guess I’ll just hang with Spike then.” Rarity walked off into her Boutique and slammed the door on us.
As we walked to beach we heard a loud primordial scream come from the Boutique. We galloped over to see what’s wrong, to see Rarity on her dramatic couch eating vanilla ice cream and watching spanish Novelas. Knowing that was our fault, we quickly galloped out of there heading towards the beach. When we reached the beach, I put my wing over Twilight snuggling her closer to my body. I looked to see that my mare was already starting to get sleepy on me. She looked so cute with the ruffle of her wings and her snout digging into my side. “You look a little sleepy?” I nudged her. She shook trying to wake herself up. We found a spot next to a tree and set up our lunch picnic.
“We need to do this more often, when we get the chance. I love doing these things with you, Rainbow.”She said moving closer to me as we laid down.
She pulled out two sandwiches and levitated one of them to me. “Thanks, Twi.”I dug in and scooted closer to my mare. After finishing our lunch we took a little nap on the beach. I had my mare under a wing and she did the same. “Love you.”
“Love you too.” she said moving closer to me and we both fell asleep with our wings around one another.
An hour later, I woke up and looked down to find my mare still sleeping with a slight smile on her face. I smiled and kissed her on the forehead. I laid there waiting for Twilight to wake up so we could head home and snuggle up on the couch. When she finally woke up, “Good afternoon, my beautiful Princess.” I said as she looked up to me.
“Good afternoon, to you too Rainbow soo do I get that surprise yet. This is so perfect, we need to go out together more often.” She said and I nodded. “This is the most time we have spent together since our first few dates. But, I would still love you even if you were across Equestria.” she said with a sigh.
“Aw Twi You have to be patient silly just wait. I think the same way whenever I’m on tour with the Wonderbolts. I always think of you and always look forward to coming home. And being greeted by you when I walk in. It’s the best feeling in the world.” I said and gave her a kiss. The kiss was as if we haven’t kissed in years. It was the most blissful kiss the whole day. You're in for a great surprise , the rock is so big Twi. I thought to myself.
She broke the kiss and said, “This is going to be a great week, with you my sweet pegasus.”
You bet it’s going to be the best week. It’s going to be 20 percent cooler than any other week. Mostly because I’m with the mare of my dreams.” I said with a little grin and looked at my lavender alicorn. She smiled back and gave me another deep and passionate kiss. I broke the kiss, “Shall we pack up and head for home? Then, get ready for our romantic dinner in Canterlot?” I asked with a grin and she nodded. She stood up and began packing the blanket into the basket. And again I took my mare under my wing as we trotted home, as she did the same.
When we arrived home I let Twilight in first and she went straight to her library to look up some restaurants in Canterlot. “There’s a lot of places to eat at, Rainbow. I don’t know what to choose.” She said as she looked over to me.
“Well I would think you would know more than I would, because you lived in Canterlot. While for me, I only go to Canterlot for practice and performances.” I said as I nudged her.
“Hey, I didn’t go out as much as I do now. Heck, I never even knew as much of friendship as I do now. But, now I have a better reason to go out, and that reason is my very special somepony. You and the other girls are why I changed so much. I don’t want to go back to that lonely life I used to have. I want to have my friends and my marefriend with me. You are all the reasons why I love it here in Ponyville.” She said.
“Aw, I’m the reason why you changed.”Twilight blushed. “You know I’ve changed a lot too, I went from being the toughest pony to being soft and cuddly. But, I also had a reason, and that reason was because I wanted to be with you; and I wanted to change to make it perfect for the both of us.” I took a breath, “I loved every minute with you and the girls, but I had a more fun time with you, my Princess.” I said pointing a hoof at her. She smiled and took me into an embrace, while in the embrace I pulled her closer and wrapped my wings around her. I know this is going be the best night in Canterlot. I’m with Twilight and we have the whole time for just each other. I thought to myself as Twilight pulled away. “Any ideas yet, Twi?” I asked as she walked away.
“No, but I do have a few places in mind.”She said.
“What are they?”
“Umm… one is called beauté-de-amour, Lunar Cafe, and Celestial Diners.”
“I say we go to, beauté-de-amour. It sounds like a nice place for tonight’s dinner.” I said and trotted over to our couch. I took a seat on the couch and pulled out the latest Daring Do book and I began to read. Twilight was making reservations for our dinner. I continued to read as I felt a warm breath go down my back. “Twi, don’t breath over me like that.”
“Oh, sorry, I was just curious what you were reading.” she said and walked around to sit next to me. She scooted closer to me and I began to read aloud to her. I put a wing around her as I continued to read. She let out a yawn and I pulled her closer. She smiled and put her head on my chest. She fell asleep on me and I put the book down to just lay there with my precious mare. She was so peaceful and beautiful. I gave her a kiss to the forehead and wrapped a wing around her, then fell asleep with her.
When I woke up I looked to see that my mare was still asleep. I had a little smirk on my face as I thought of a little prank. I moved so I wouldn’t wake up my sleeping mare. I silently walked to the kitchen and got a bowl of whipped cream. I place the bowl under her hoof and I began to use my wing to tickle her nose. She reacted quickly moving the hoof that had the bowl and splattered whip cream on her face. She woke up, “What the heck was that for?” she stared at me mad, but with a slight smile.
“What? I can’t have a little laugh.” I said giggling.
“Oh, you're going to pay for this. Mark my words, Rainbow.” she said pointing to me and she began to giggle a bit. “Well played though.”
“Thanks. Many years of doing prank wars with Pinkie and I would always get her.” I said. “I’ll be ready for you when you get my back.” I nudged her and smiled. I turned around to head back to the kitchen to clean up my mare. As I stared to walk back I noticed that Twilight was gone. “Twi, where did you go?” I flew through the halls looking for my mare. I went into our room and she wasn’t there. I began to get worried. Where could she have gone off to. She wouldn’t really leave me because of a little prank. I thought to myself and shook my head. As I made it back to the couch I was jumped by Twilight and she casted a spell that kept on tickling me. I bursted into laughter, “T-Twi p-please stop the tickling me.”
“Not until you say sorry.” She said holding the spell on me.
“Ok. Ok I’m sorry for the whip cream.” I said with a sigh of relief that the tickling had stopped. “Where did you find that spell from?”
“I found it in a old book on old tricks and pranks.” she said.
“How did you get the book?”
“I found it in the library. I teleported when you walked away.”
“Well played and a nice way on the comeback.”
“Thanks, but don’t do that again or I’ll use the spell on you again.”
“Ok, I won’t prank you anymore. You do know that, I just wanted to have a little fun.” I said with a small grin.
“Well, yeah, but now I have to take a shower before we go.” she said with a sigh. I nodded and we walked over to our bathroom, I let her take her shower first and I waited patiently for her to finish. When she walked out I went straight in and turned on the water, as I stepped in I could feel the nice warm water against my coat. The water dripping down my coat, as my muscles begin to relax. I sighed as I washed my coat. After I finished I stepped out to the hallway and trotted over to our bedroom. I opened the door to find that Twilight is wearing the most beautiful dress. The dress was a perfect midnight blue and shining white, lined with gold flakes. The decoration throughout the dress was little twinkling stars sprinkled with glitter.
“Wow, Twi, you look great in that dress.”I said.
“Thanks, Rarity made it for me a while back.” She said looking at herself in a mirror. “What are you going to wear?”
I shrugged, “I don’t know, I could just wear my Gala dress or something.” I looked at my half of the closet, all I had was my Gala dress and a white dress. I don’t know what to choose, my Gala dress or that white dress of mine. I thought to myself.
“I’m just going to wait in the hallway while you change, ok Rainbow?” She said as she began to walk out of the room.
“Yeah that’s fine.” I said and turned back to the closet. I decided to go with the Gala dress. It was the only dress that I could wear and not feel too girly in, and it was the only thing that could fit me. I stepped out of the room and looked towards my mare, “What do you think?”
“You look great Rainbow. In fact you look Twenty percent cooler.” She winked and I blushed. “What made you decide to wear your Gala dress?” I just facehoofed at her attempt of humor.
“I don’t know, I just wanted to wear something nice when we head for the restaurant. That and it’s our special night together.” I said and walked with my mare to the living room. We walked over to Canterlot which took ten more minutes before we reached the restaurant. When we arrived at Canterlot the night was still young and we began our trot to the restaurant. As we walked she grabbed me and put me into a wing embrace, as I did the same. The restaurant was located close to Twilight’s old library, here in Canterlot.
The restaurant was a very fancy one, there were many gentlecolts and mares. I felt awkward to walk to a place like this as a fillyfooler. But, Twilight reassured me that nopony cared anymore, and you know what I didn’t care either. So we trotted up to the waiter with confidence as Twilight said, “Reservation, for Twilight Sparkle and Rainbow Dash.”
“Ah, yes. Your table is right this way, Princess Twilight and Sergeant Rainbow Dash. Please follow me.” He said as we follow him. Our table was by a big window with a view of the city and the moon still rising. We sat down and picked up our menus.
“What are you going to get, Dash?” She asked as she looked over the menu.
“I don’t know. Maybe the grilled veggie salad.” I said looking down at the menu.
“Good choice, Rainbow. I think I might just have the same.” We waited for our waiter to come. As we waited we chatted about what would be our plans for the rest of the week. “What are your plans for the rest of the week, Rainbow?” She asked looking at me with a look of curiosity.
“Well, I want to spend a day helping you fly, and the others just in bed or at home with you, my love.” I said as I grabbed her hoof. She blushed at my touch, and then smiled.
“That sounds like fun, and I do need help with flying. I also want to do some reading sessions with you at least once, but what I want to do the most is to just stay in bed with the mare I love.” She said putting her hoof on top of mine with this we fell into each other's eyes. We stayed within our trance until our waiter came to take our order.
“What can I get you two on this fine evening?” Asked the waiter.
I pointed a hoof to Twi, “I’ll have fruit salad, please.”
“And I’ll have grilled veggie salad, please.” I said then turning back to my mare. “You know Twilight this is the most time that we have spent together since I moved into your castle. I love it though, more time with the mare I love and care for is more important than anything else in Equestria.” I said taking Twi’s hoof.
“Aw, that’s sweet of you, I love this time with you too. I just hate all the stress I get now for being a princess, but at least I can come home to you and know that you’ll comfort me in my times of stress; and that’s what I love about you, you know how to cheer me up and make me feel much better; and that is why I love you, Rainbow.” She said and then leaned in for a kiss. I received the kiss and then pulled her in closer to my body. We broke as all the other ponies were staring at us and we both blushed looking at each other.
Later, our waiter came with our food. “Your dinner is here, Enjoy.” He said as he looked away. Me and Twilight dug in and continued to chat about the week ahead.
“You picked the perfect place, Twi. This food is great.” I said as I finished my salad.
“Thanks, I’m glad you like it; this place is new and I wanted to try it out with you.” She said looking at me.
After dinner we paid and headed towards the train station. When we arrived to the train station Twilight stopped and kneeled down. “Twilight, Will you marry me?” I said as I pulled out a small black velvet box from under my wing and opened it.
She hesitated and said, “Yes, Rainbow. Yes I will marry you.” I jumped up and she kneeled down as I put the engagement necklace around her neck. She stood up and I gave her a deep and passionate kiss. Both of us in complete bliss and embracing each other as we stood on the train platform. I broke the kiss and took a breath, “I love you, Twilight.”
“I love you too, Rainbow.” She said as we walked over to the train both of us still in wing embrace. When we arrived back to ponyville, we trotted straight back to our castle. “Now let’s just spend the rest of the night in bed with each other.” Said Twi as we walked up to the door. I nodded and she went straight to the room as I went to the bathroom for a quick shower. I can’t believe that Twilight and I are now engaged after three years of being together. Oh, Twi how much I love you. Now I have a surprise for you when Hearts and Hooves Day comes around. You're in for a great surprise. I thought to myself as I was taking a shower. I walked out and went straight to the bedroom. I opened the door to find that my mare had already fallen asleep. I walk over to the bed and move in close to Twilight and wrap her in another wing and saying, “I love you Twilight. Good night my sweet mare.” She smiled and turned. Then pulled me down.
She whispered in my ear, “I love you too. You are the only pegasus for me.” I laid down with us both in an embrace as sleep took us and we pulled each other closer than before.
