//------------------------------// // 7. Making A Decision // Story: The Dragon Master And His Princess // by Chocolate Pony //------------------------------// Anna's POV The room had gotten incredibly silent. So silent, you could hear a Pegasus feather hit the floor. I didn't know what to do or say. I couldn't move, or breath hardly. All the while, Kristoff waited patiently in front of me. "U-Um..Kristoff can we...talk? In private?" I whispered, hoping everypony wouldn't hear. "Uh, sure" Kristoff replied, his expression growing concerned. The instant a mare doesn't say yes right away, you know something is wrong. We both walked through the crowd, who gently moved out of the way. No pony had said anything yet. Not even Elsa. That was a good thing. Great actually. Wanna know what wasn't? Hiccup's face. The instant Kristoff had proposed, I could see his face turn to disappointment. Now he looked more concerned than anything. I wonder why? Kristoff and I reached a private room. I used my magic to shut the doors, turning to face him. He had his head down, shuffling his hooves. "I already know what your gonna say" He muttered. "If you mean me saying no? Yes, that's true. But, you don't know the reason" I replied, walking up to him. "Actually, I do. I've seen your behavior over the past few months. It's changed. Drastically. You went from Anna, to somepony else. You acted like you didn't want to be around me. Like, I wasn't...giving you what you were looking for anymore. I'm not the stallion you want to be with. Or need to be with. Am I?" I froze in surprise. He knew more than I thought he would. I guess I had been to obvious about not loving him anymore. I sighed sadly, hugging him. "No. No you're not, Kristoff. You're right. I need another stallion to satisfy my needs. But, while we were together, you did a great job of it. Don't ever forget that. I loved you once, but not anymore. Thank you for trying to be that one special somepony of mine. But, your not" I said, having some tears in my eyes. Kristoff smiled slightly, nodding his head. He made his way to the doors, not looking back as he opened them, and walked away. I wondered if I'd ever see him again. Although, it wasn't really important. I made my way back into the ballroom, everypony having gone back to conversing. I'd have to explain what happened later. In the meantime, I looked around for Hiccup. He was nowhere in sight. "Anna? What happens?" Elsa asked, trotting up to me. "I'd rather discuss it later. Where'd uh..Hiccup go?" I asked, looking around. "Sorry. Him and his fiance left right after you and Kristoff walked away. He didn't seem too happy either" She replied. I sighed, disappointment and sadness washing over me. As if this evening wasn't depressing enough already. He just had to leave, probably thinking I was gonna run off and get married. "I hope you come back to me, my love" I whispered under my breath.
