//------------------------------// // Welcome to Equestria (Rewrite) // Story: Spirits: Sunny's Displacement // by Enderdragonslayer1 //------------------------------//         As I was waiting for Twilight to get to the castle, I kept wondering how she'll react. The others already know a little bit of my past, but Twilight? I only knew her for less than a day before she found out. Even though the other girls know about my past (since I lived in Ponyville for a few years), Twilight didn't. I just didn't know how she'll react. I was torn out of my thoughts when a guard came into my room.         "Sunny, she's here," the guard told me.         "Ok, tell her I'm on my way now." I told the guard.         I used my magic to put on my favorite necklace, one that was given to me when I was younger. After I got it on, I left the room, heading for our planned meeting place. I approached the door as the guard was coming out.         "Leave us." I told the guard. He seemed reluctant, but he left like he was told.         "Hey, Twilight. I know you have a lot of questions, but it may be best if I started from the beginning." I told her. After a nod, I sat down, getting prepared to tell her my story.         "Ugh," I groaned as I got up, "Where am I?"         I tried to get my bearings as I looked around. The first thing I noticed were the wings, then the hooves. They both felt out of place, yet natural. I also noticed a bag on my back, however, I had no way of reaching it right now, as my legs aren't long enough. I needed to figure out the lay of the land, however, when I tried to move, I immediately  stumbled. I tried to remember how to walk, but I realized that I couldn't remember anything. Suddenly, a voice came into my head.         Walk by moving your front left hoof forward along with you back right hoof. Do the same with you front right and back left. Repeat.         I instinctively knew what to do. At first, I was still stumbling, but as I practiced, it became easier and more natural. I was starting to get confident when I heard a roar that was fairly close to my location. Something told me the sound came from a manticore. So I did the natural thing, I ran in the opposite direction. I was weaving between trees, slamming through bushes, trying anything to put some distance between me and the manticore. However, my movement were getting sluggish, it became harder to coordinate my hooves. After hitting the side of a tree, I saw the beast that was chasing me. My eyes widen when I realized that I won't live if I get caught, that gave me the energy to continue. My advantages? I was small and fast. My disadvantages? I wasn't coordinated in any way.         After ten minutes, I came into a clearing, but I didn't have time to enjoy the scenery, so I kept running. I saw what looked like buildings on top of the mountain in front of me. I started to climb. I was maybe twenty yards or so away from the entrance when I was noticed. One of what looked like guards pointed at me, only to freeze when he (she?) saw the manticore chasing me.         Almost there, I thought to myself.         About ten yards away, I tripped and fell, allowing the manticore to catch up to me. The manticore started to cause worrying wounds on my body, then proceeded to drag me away. However, it didn't even get five yards when the guards caught up, one attacking the manticore, causing it to drop me, while the other picked me up and started to rush me into the city.         "Don't worry," the male voice said softly, "You're going to be okay." I passed out shortly after entering the city.         I groaned, not knowing where I was or what happened. Then I remembered: waking up in the forest, the manticore, getting caught, getting carried to safety. I was pulled out of my thoughts when I heard a voice.         "She's coming to," a vaguely female voice said.         When I opened my eyes, I didn't believe what I was seeing, a white pony(?) with both wings and a horn. Once again, I was pulled out of my thoughts when she spoke.         "Hello, little one, my name is Princess Celestia, what's yours?" the mare(?) asked.         "I- I don't know," I said in a scared voice, my confidence crumbling in her presence, she seemed to notice this.         "Don't worry..." she stopped as if she was thinking, "Sunny Days? I won't hurt you."         For some reason, 'Sunny Days' triggered a memory, it felt like deja vu.         "T-that n-name, it seems familiar," I managed, my confidence rising. She smiled at that.         "That's good, how much do you remember? An alicorn doesn't just hide without being known."         "Alicorn?"         "It must be worse then I realize," she muttered, "An alicorn is a pony with both wings and a horn," she explained.         Horn? What horn?         I managed to look up to see a, would you have guessed, a horn sticking out of my forehead. It was then I finally took in the situation, my eyes widen as I tried to get up, only for a lot of pain to flare up my body.         "Woah!" she exclaimed, "Take it easy, you're still severely injured. That manticore did quite a bit to you."         It was then I noticed the numerous bandages on my body. I groaned.         "This won't be fun," I muttered.         Laying back down, I tried to get comfortable, only for the situation to fully sink in. I started to cry.         Moving forward, the princess wrapped a wing around me, "There, there. Everything's going to be alright, " she spoke in a motherly tone. She sat there with me until I started to cry myself to sleep.         "Take her to a guest room for the time being." I heard her say before I fell asleep, which was followed by multiple replies.         I was awoken to the smell of food. When I opened my eyes, I gasped at what I saw. It was a lot of food. I started licking my lips while trying to get up, only for pain to flare up my body.         How long has it been? I thought.         I was shaken out of my thoughts when I heard the door open.         "Oh, you're awake," the princess said, "Though, why haven't you eaten yet?"         "I can't move, it's too painful," I replied.         She raised an eyebrow, "You can't use your mag-" she stopped herself, apparently realizing I had no idea what she was talking about, that and the fact that I don't remember anything.         "Magic? What's magic?"         "Uhh, that is a hard concept to explain, especially to somepony your age," somepony?! "Now, open you mouth so I can feed you."         I decided to play along. "Fine," I said in a huff, opening my mouth in the process.         We sat there for a good ten minutes until the plate was empty, and I was full. I started to feel really tired and let out a yawn.         "Well, you need to sleep, if you're going to grow," she said with a knowing smirk.         "Yes, Mother," I said sarcastically. She stopped at that. Realizing what I just said, I quickly recovered, "I-I, D-didn't..." I was cut off when I was embraced.         "It's okay, Sunny, it's ok..." she said in a motherly voice, "Everything is going to be just fine."         She then let me go and left the room. I just lay there, shocked, why was she acting like that? Did she think I wanted to be her daughter? Ok, maybe I wanted to be a little bit, but that's not the point. Letting another yawn out, I lay back down, trying to get some sleep.
