//------------------------------// // Arriving // Story: Going to Equestria // by TheLogoliner //------------------------------// Sorry if this chapter is short Two days after I left Canterlot I slowly cupped my hands in the stream and took huge gulps of fresh water. I stopped to allow myself to catch my breath. After I was done panting, I spread the water on my face to cool myself off. I took one last gulp and filled up a bottle I packed with water. I stood up and sighed, time to continue this. I turned South which was the direction Celestia had told me the Griffon Kingdom was and continued to walk through the dense forest I was in. During the walk I was thinking how I will even be able to do this. I've never done a life threatening mission before! "This is going to suck." I said to myself. I continued my pace and would hear the common rustle of a bush and animals crossing my path. Soon my mind changed the subject of how dangerous this is to what will happen if I die. I don't have my family or friends here to attend my funeral. Instantly after I thought that I stopped walking. My mind began to flood with images of my family and how I was worlds away, dimensions even! How can I get back to Earth and how would everyone here react if I just left when I know that I've started something here. "I wonder what they're doing right now." I said to myself thinking about if anyone has noticed I disappeared. By now I would be in L.A. having a great time, like I never went here in the first place. "Everything happens for a reason." I said which was a quote a lot people had said to me. I sighed and started walking again and reached a turn in the path. "Must be getting close." I said trying to forget about the memories. Though it didn't work, I still continued to think about home on Earth. Then something brought me back to reality. It was the whistle of an arrow and a loud thump of the arrow contacting to the tree next to me. I quickly rolled into a nearby bush as an arrow hit the ground where I was just standing. I began to hyperventilate as adrenaline flooded my veins. I stood there for a moment until I began to sneak through the bushes until I was a safe distance from the path. I found a little spot to sit behind some trees and a large bush. I slowly lifted the leaves of the bush and quickly spotted a large castle. My heart skipped a beat when I noticed a dozen of Griffon Guards on the top pathway. Many of them had crossbows in there claws. "What, they get crossbows and I don't? That's just cheating." I whispered to myself. "I might steal one and return it to Silver Shield." After that plan passed I began to scan the area and where I can enter silently. After a few minutes of searching I noticed a blind spot where I can enter the castle. I looked up at the guards and waited for the perfect moment to make a dash to wall. I quickly stopped at the wall to catch my breath. Jesus this is hard as hell. Once my panting had subsided, I looked straight up to see a ledge at the top of the wall. I quickly pulled out my bow and took a minute to find the right arrow. Once I found the arrow with a rope tied to it I pulled back on the string and aimed it straight up at the bottom of the ledge. I heard the bow creak and the rope stretch as I steadied my hand. "Please make it and please don't attract any attention." I whispered with hope and let go of the arrow. I shot out like a bullet, not making a sound and impaled the stone with a quiet thud. I strapped the bow to my back and tested the rope by pulling down hard. Once it passed I jumped up and grabbed hold of the rope. My gloves made it hard for me to slide don the rope which is a good thing. I slowly began to ascend up the rope to the ledge as quiet as I can. Fear that I might catch some attention, but right now everything was going smoothy. Once I reached the top I slowly looked around to see if there was any guards around. Thankfully there was none so I climbed on top of the wall, quickly scanned the area to see where else to go. I quickly spotted a roof top close to here. "Here goes nothing." I whispered to myself and sprinted to the edge of the wall and did the longest jump I could do. I landed on the roof with a grunt and laid there for a second. Recuperating from the fall. I stood up and looked out at the tough challenge ahead of me. "Well, no turning back now." I said to myself with worry and began my way to the tall building in the middle of the city.
