//------------------------------// // Chapter 8 // Story: How I Got Your Mother To Love Me // by Evowizard25 //------------------------------// Pinkie and Cardinal waved at the viewers from behind a neat desk. She had tears in her eyes as she smiled. "Oh my gosh, you're back. I mean, we're back. I mean...I missed you all." Cardinal patted his wife on the back. "Now, now. Don't cry. They don't want to see you cry." "I know," Pinkie wiped away her tears. "I'm just so glad Evo still remembers us and the viewers...it's been so long since I last made them smile." "And now you can again." Cardinal said, before chuckling. "I can just imagine the look of surprise on their faces when this chapter comes out. It'll be brilliant." "And we have someone very special to thank for this." Pinkie said. Just then, a younger Pinkie popped on stage, with an explosion of confetti behind her. "SURPRISE!" "AHHH!" Roseluck yelled from the audience. "Two Pinkies." "It's the end of the world." Daisy yelled. Lily fainted. The other two flower ponies picked up their friend and ran off screaming. "Geez, what's their problem?" The younger Pinkie asked. "Everyone, I'd like you all to meet my very new bestest friend, Pinkie Pie." The older Pinkie said. The younger Pinkie ran up and hugged her. "Thank you so much for inviting me. I don't think I've ever been on a talk show with me before, unless you count me being there." She giggled. "Indeed." Cardinal chuckled. "Honey," Pinkie looked to her husband. "I don't think the viewers understand what's happening." "That's easy enough to fix." Cardinal said. "She's from 'Resistance: Equestria'." "Resistance: Equestria." The older Pinkie gasped. "I love that movie. And the game was awesome." Within two seconds, the Pinkies were holding remotes and playing on a Playstation. "Ha, take that mean aliens." The younger Pinkie said. "Yeah, what she said." The older Pinkie nodded her head. "And be careful of the pegasi." "PINKIE!" Cardinal yelled, looking at the audiance nervously. "They might hear something." "Awww," This universe Pinkie frowned. The two Pinkie's turned off the game and walked back over to the desk. __________________________________________________________________________________________ Back in the real world...or the real world of this story. Octavia trotted up the side of the mountain. She had to talk to Spike about her son. Yes, he was a responsible colt, but Spike was renound as a possesive of his daughters and she would make sure that he did nothing to her special boy. She was panting slightly as she finally reached the cave's entrance. "Hey, Octavia. You're just the mare I wanted to see." Spike walked out to meet her. "And your just the dragon I wanted to meet." Octavia smiled up at him. "You know why I've come, right?" Spike frowned. "Your son asked one of my little angels out. And you want to make sure that I won't hurt him." Octavia nodde. Even though her son hadn't asked the question, she knew he would soon. She'd see to that.Spike laughed. "As if I'd hurt a hair on his head." Octavia sighed in relief. "His legs on the other hand..." "SPIKE!" Octavia glared up at him. He chuckled. "I"m just messing with you." Octavia smacked one of his forepaws. "That wasn't funny." She huffed. "Now, will you promise to make sure you won't harm him." Spike held up a clawed hand. "I promise." "Good." Octavia smiled. "HI-YA!" A mare's voice screamed. Just then, a black clad Earth pony jumped up and came down on Spike's head with a single back hoof. "OWWW!" Spike clutched his head. "You're getting slow." The mare reprimanded. Spike looked at the mare. "Shadowed Kill? Is that you?" The mare took off her mask, to reveal a cream colored, black maned mare. She smiled, her slanted eyes beaming with glee. "Who else." "Does that mean..." "This isn't the type of cave I pictured you'd live in." A voice said. Spike looked over to see the older inspector. "Too dark and damp." "Clueso." "Guilty as ahhh!" He yelled, as he tripped over some gems. Spike smiled sheepishly. "Sorry about that." "No problem." Clueso grumbled. Shadowed Kill rushed over to his side and helped him up. "And who are they?" Octavia asked Spike. "Old friends." Spike smiled. He looked over to them. "How've you been?" "Great." Shadowed Kill said, beaming with joy. "We've been doing well, solving crimes, taking down suspects...." "Randomly attacking me." Clueso put in. "Oh, but you love it." She kissed his cheek. "So, the usual?" Spike said. They nodded. "How did you all meet?" Octavia asked, curious as to the new arrivals. "I met Clueso on a spying mission on a crush of mine." Spike blushed. as Octavia raised an eyebrow. "Not that I did that often, mind you. Anyways, we only were together for a couple of seconds. It was only a few days later that we would meet again." _____________________________________________________________________________________________ *several years ago* Spike was idly walking the streets of Canterlot. Occasionally, ponies would stop to stare. He was a dragon after all, and they weren't common in Equestria. But he didn't care. Lollipop was the only thing that took up his thoughts. Her mane, her smile, the way she walked. She was just so tantalizing. He was so caught up about thinking of her, that he didn't notice a flottery pot fall down from a nearby building. In fact, he didn't even react right away, when it smashed right in front of him. "AHHHHHHHHHHHH!" He screamed, jumping up several feet in the air. "Ah-ha," The inspector appeared behind him. Spike screamed once again, a little shriller this time. "Attempted murder." He patted his head. "Don't worry, little girl. This case will be over before you can say, over." "I"m a boy." Spike said. "Funny, by your screams, I would have mistaken you for a filly." Clueso tapped his chin. "I'll just have to make a mental note on this, lest I mistake you for one again." Spike grumbled and crossed his arms. "I do not scream like a filly." "Now, we must take the scene in as a whole." Clueso walked around Spike and the broken pot. "You were walking, no doubt thinking about your crush," Spike blushed. "When somepony threw this pot to the ground, with the intention of knocking you out so they could kidnap you." "Wait, I thought you said they were trying to kill me?" Spike said. "Somepony is trying to kill you?" Clueso's eyes widened. "This indeed a grave situation." Spike facepalmed. "We must find the culprit at once." Just then, a blue mare ran up to them. "I'm so sorry," She said. "I should have been more careful." "Ah-ha, our suspect." Clueso said, advancing upon her. "Suspect?" The mare raised an eyebrow. "It was an accidnet." "So you say." Clueso said. "But let's add up the facts. One: You are a pony. Two: He is a dragon. Three: That pot housed a daisy, while your cutie mark is clearly a yellow rose. Four: You are dealing with Celestia's best inspector. That adds up to your guilt. How do you plead?" "Not guilty." The mare said. Clueso was silent for a moment. "I believe you." "Then why did you accuse me of trying to kill him?" "I did no such thing." Clueso said, but cringed when the mare glared daggers at him. "Alright, maybe a little But you can never be safe in these days in times." "HI-YA!" A black clad mare trying to karate chop him. "Shadowed Kill." Clueso said, dodging her blows. "Not now, I"m in the middle of something." Shadowed Kill stopped. "But I thought you said attack you whenever possible?" She said. "I did." Clueso quickly grabbed a nearby shovel and smacked her on the head with it. "And you're getting sloppy." Shadowed Kill quickly ducked, span on her front hooves, and kicked him in the chest, sending him flying back. "And you're getting cocky." She ran off after him. Spike just scratched his head. "What just happened?" "I have no idea." The mare said. ____________________________________________________________________________________________ "Well..." Octavia said. "I don't know what to say." She looked over the pair. "You make an...interesting couple." "We sure do." Clueso said. "And I wouldn't have it any other way." Shadowed Kill nuzzled her husband. __________________________________________________________________________________________- "HEY!" Resistance Pinkie said. "This chapter was a ripoff. We didn't even get to see Spike's kids or Lollipop." "But we did get to see more of Clueso." This universe Pinkie said. "He did need some time in the spotlight." R-PInkie nodded. "Yeah, you're right." Suddenly, a red blur tackled the younger Pinkie. "No Pinkie expects the surprise Cherry hug." She giggled. Cardinal wiped away a tear. "I taught her so well." R-Pinkie laughed and hugged the filly. "I wish I had a filly." "Nah, it'll be a colt." The older Pinkie said. R-Pinkie gasped. "Spoiler." Cardinal tried to shush his wife. "Oh right." The older Pinkie giggled. R-Pinkie squeeled in delight. "Oh, I can't wait. I'm going to hug him and squeeze him and tell him how much I love him and feed him cupcakes and..." "I think we got it." Cardinal said. "Anyways, Evo's tired now. He can't be typing all day, you know." "You mean, Evowizard." R-Pinkie raised an eyebrow. "What does he have to do with anything?" "Oh, he's a human who writes this story." The older Pinkie explained. R-Pinkie gasped. "Really? In our world, he's just a regular unicorn. Is this Evo nice like him?" The older Pinkie nodded. "Yup. He's really nice. I mean, he made us." "And me." Cherry Pie chipped in. "Right daddy." She looked over to him. Cardinal looked away. "Again, you'll find out when you're older." Cherry Pie frowned, but her mother just giggled. She ruffled her daughter's mane. R-Pinkie waved to the camera. "Goodbye everbrony. I hope you liked it." "And don't worry, we'll meet again soon enough." The older Pinkie put in.
