//------------------------------// // Chapter 2: Sugar High // Story: Ponies And Pines // by KeyNoteTheUnicorn //------------------------------// Twilight woke up. The sun peeking through her mostly shut curtains that draped like a waterfall. She woke up with energy, thinking of all the happy smiles she would see once again back at Canterlot High. She looked over at Spike, “Wake up!” She announced, opening the curtains wider. Spike groaned and turned in his bed, his back facing the light and covering his head with this blanket. Twilight rolled her eyes, “I guess you don’t want to see our friends at Canterlot High…” She said, secretly trying to persuade him. “Five more minutes…” Spike replied. Twilight giggled and agreed to his request. She made her way out of her bed room, and to the throne room. She saw that the portal was almost ready, and looked over the wires just for one last check over before she went to visit her friends. She then noticed that a couple wires where inappropriately swapped. She hardly got her magic on one of them to swap them back to normal when all of the sudden… ZWOOP!—The portal had a kick of power, and the gravitational pull, pulled Twilight into the portal! “SPIIIIKE!” She screamed, obviously knowing he would be the only one to hear her. She knew she wasn’t going to end up where she was hoping to go. Spike ran in to the throne room, dragging his blanket along. “Twilight!?” He shouted. He scurried over to the portal, to see that the wires blew a fuse, and the portal had deactivated and Twilight was gone. “No!” He shouted to himself. He quickly dropped his blanket and ran out of the castle and into town. That day, Apple Jack had supposedly been selling apples in Pony Ville. Spike saw her, and ran to her. He knew very well Apple Jack wouldn’t be the only pony he would go to, to call for help, especially since Apple Jack is not that tech savvy of a pony. “Apple Jack! Apple Jack!” Spike called, “Something happened! Twilight is gone!” “Calm down sugar cube! Twilight is gone…?” She asked, in a calm, yet confused, state. “Yes! She called for help, and then when I tried to find her in the other room, she was gone…! I think the portal malfunctioned, and she was pulled in!” Spike said, panicking! “Alright… Well… We just need to get some pony that knows that darn machine as well as she does!” Apple Jack said, thinking of exactly one pony that knew how that machine worked as well as Twilight did! “Well, let’s go find Pinkie Pie. She should be at Sugar Cube Corner, right?” Apple Jack suggested. “I guess so!” Spike said, rather confused. Apple Jack nodded and smiled. Spike and Apple Jack quickly made their ways to Sugar Cube corner. “Pinkie! Ya’ here?” Apple Jack called. They waited for a moment, but no answer. Apple Jack called once more, “Pinkie, we need your help!” Still, nothing! Apple Jack trotted into the kitchen; because she hadn’t heard the cakes answer either... She started to get concerned. Apple Jack sighed, and rolled her eyes, once she saw Pinkie Pie clocked out in what seemed to be a sugar coma. “Ah great! Our only help at the moment, and she is passed out in a sugar coma!” Apple Jack said to herself, though Spike heard her as he walked into the kitchen as well. “She’s passed out!?” Spike shouted! “Eating too many sweets, I reckon…” Apple Jack said, as she started to pace around the kitchen. “Should we take her to the castle until she is conscious?” Spike asked, nervously. Apple Jack nodded, agreeing with Spike. Apple Jack slipped Pinkie Pie onto her back, and steadily trotted out of Sugar Cube Corner and to Twilight’s Castle to hopefully figure out when is going on!
