The bed's warmth left her like a cloak lost to the wind and she shivered, looking forward to that rejuvenating first steaming hot cup of tea. She went past the kitchen table unfazed, despite Twilight taking it up with a haphazard pile of books and scrolls. She gave her a quick kiss on the cheek in passing and noticed her tired  bloodshot eyes. "Good morning, darling." "Uh huh, love you too." Twilight buried through the scrolls and opened a heavy tome, browsing through it. Rarity filled a kettle with water and set it on the stove. "How much sleep did you get this night? I didn't hear you getting up," she worried. "That's nice." Twilight flipped a page. "I stumbled on an ancient saga, I'm translating it right now." "Really." Rarity deadpanned, thinking it way too early to take this situation on. Steam rose from the kettle. "It's about a human demigod named Chuck Norris." One of Rarity's immaculate eyebrows rose sharply and she used her magic to get a mug and a teabag of Jasmine tea out of the cupboards. "The parts I've translated so far tell about him healing 500 crippled orphaned human younglings with his magic tears." The kettle whistled and Rarity poured the water into her mug, then magically took it over to the table and sat down next to Twilight. "Please mind the documents with the tea." Rarity sighed. "Of course, of course." She kept holding it in her magic, the tag dangling down the cup loosely, and eyed her companion wryly. Twilight snickered and quickly wrote down some notes. "I really thought I had made a mistake there. It says he was so fast he could run around the planet and punch himself in the back of the head." "WhーHowーWhy would anyone want to do that?" She magicked the teabag into the kitchen sink and took a dainty sip. She could already feel the welcome warmth radiating into her and sighed deeply. "I don't know. I think it's funny, perhaps those were tales for little colts and fillies." She smiled broadly and leaned over to nuzzle Rarity. She responded in kindly and got the first little smile of the day. "Well, don't overdo it, darling. We both know how you are." "I know I know. I'm no Chuck Norris, right?" She snorted at her own joke and let her head fall on the paper-covered table, giggling. Rarity gave a quiet smile and got up to prepare her breakfast. Perhaps just some toast. She opened her cabinets and took inventory, hoping for something to strike her fancy. Behind her, a quiet snore made her ears swivel. She turned around and saw that Twilight had fallen asleep mid-giggle with her head on her latest notes. With a sigh, she magicked a blanket from her work room and wrapped it around her companion's figure. She stepped closer and caressed sleeping Twilight's mane lovingly with a hoof. Using her magic, the pulled the papers from under Twilight and ordered everything into a neat stack. Getting close to her ear Rarity whispered, "Never change, my love." When she turned back to make her breakfast she was already planning the work day in her head. A quiet one if possible, to let Twilight catch up a little. One without any more Chuck Norris, she hoped.
