It was a beautiful sunny day at Canterlot high and everyone was getting ready for Halloween. The gym was being set up for the dance by all but Rainbow and Sunset, Pinkie was determined to make it the best ever. This would be the final Halloween dance at the high school as this was the groups final year of high school. The gym had all sorts of decorations like zombies, werewolves, Frankenstein and so on. Pinkie set up all sorts of Halloween creatures while Rarity, Fluttershy, AJ, and Twilight took care of the smaller decoration details like hanging up wall décor. They also helped set up the floor to look like it was cracking and about to collapse. It had taken them all day and they still weren’t finished.
Outside the gym was Rainbow Dash and Sunset Shimmer getting the halls ready. Rainbow was bouncing all over the place out of excitement. “Can you believe it Sunset, graduation is only a few months away now.”
Sunset shook her head and turned to her abnormally bouncy friend. Rainbow had been acting more and more like Pinkie as graduation got closer. “Look Rainbow, we still have over half a year before we graduate, it’s more than just a few months.” Rainbow shrunk to the floor and pouted. Sunset let out a sigh and sat down next to her rainbow haired friend. “I’m excited to you know but I’m not fooling myself by acting like nothing can go wrong.” Rainbow raised an eyebrow in question about what Sunset had just said. “Two days ago you went on a pranking spree that almost got you suspended, possibly expelled. You’re lucky we were here to bail you out.”
“Ok so I got a bit excited about graduation, so what?” Rainbow leaned up against one of the lockers knowing that she would regret what she had just said. Truth was, she didn’t want a comment but she asked for one unintentionally. Instead of trying to change the subject, she waited for the impact to hit her. It wasn’t as bad as she thought though but still pretty bad. She was grateful Sunset didn’t bring up the worse stuff.
“You broke a door, knocked Principal Celestia into a trashcan tearing a hole in her pants in the process, made skid marks along the gym floor, need I go on?” Sunset asked arms folded.
“I placed that cement block right inside the bathroom door, how was I supposed to know Vice Principal Luna would rush into the bathroom for an emergency potty break. She threw the door open against block and it messed up the alignment so it wouldn’t shut and bounced back into her breaking her nose. I didn’t know that would happen.”
Sunset shook her head. “You put the cement block between and the door and the frame, what did you think would happen?”
“Ok so I misjudged my plan a bit.” Sunsset raised an eyebrow and tapped her foot. “Ok a lot but the door was easy enough to fix. I feel bad about Vice Principal Lunas nose. Now knocking Principal Celestia into the trashcan was an accident just like the other things that happened.”
Sunset shook her head again and leaned against a locker. “Let me talk you through this Rainbow. First the thing with the door happened. That “accident” made you panic and you ran off. Of course you weren’t paying attention to where you were going and you turned a corner to fast. This resulted in you knocking our principal into the nearby trashcan which went sliding down the hallway. Why did it go sliding you may ask, well I’ll tell you. The janitor was doing some cleaning. He put the trashcan on wheels for easier transportation. I can’t believe the trashcan got so heavy that he needed to put it on wheels, what were people throwing away?”
“That may have been my fault too. I had some extra cement blocks I decided not to use and threw them away. It probably was not my best idea.” Rainbow chuckled awkwardly.
Sunset face palmed but continued. “Anyway, he was also doing his job and cleaning the floor which meant the floor was wet. So principal Celestia went sliding down the hallway and into the gym where you managed to catch up to her. Problem was made bigger when you ran into Scootaloo on her scooter. Now not only our principal but you as well were slidding across the floor leaving behind you skid marks.”
Rainbow couldn’t take the explanation anymore, she had to shut Sunset up. “Ok I get it, things got really bad really fast. The water balloon rigged in Principals Celestia’s office was bad and the one in vice principal luna’s and the one behind the lunch counter that hit Applejacks grandmother, and the one in the boys locker room that when set off caused the fire alarm to ring.”
“I’m still not sure how all that happened at the same exact time.” Sunset said scratching her head. “Anyway, the point is, you need to stop focusing on graduating and focus on now before you get suspended or expelled and don’t graduate. The girls and I don’t want to leave our friend behind.” Rainbow Dash nodded, Sunset was right. “Good, now we’ll see you tomorrow for the spook alley and to finish up some last minute details, see ya.”
Rainbow stood up and finished off a few things before heading out. When she reached the front doors, she looked back with a bit of sadness and some laughter. She may be over half a year away from graduating but it would go fast. The halls were filled with memories. She could see it all with her mind. Princess Twilight walking through the halls of an unknown place to take back a crown Sunset stole and the sirens who tried to sing the school into submission. Rainbow Dash looked outside toward the statue where she and the others waited for Princess Twilight to come through and help them on a few occasions. This worlds Twilight almost destroyed one world for the sake of knowledge. There was so much that happened in the school including acquiring their pony powers after the fall formal where this all started. That was possibly the best memory she had of that year Sunset turned herself around.
Rainbow let a small tear slide down her cheek but she quickly wiped it away. “I’m gonna miss this school and my friends but Sunset was right, I need to focus on now and getting through school and not the future. I can’t act like I can’t be punished.” Rainbow ran home and got herself ready for bed. Once she got changed, she laid down and almost instantly fell asleep.
When Rainbow woke up, she found Sunset standing next to her. Rainbow had no idea what her friend was doing in her room but she was going find out. She sat up and yawned. “Sunset, what’s going on?” Sunset’s response was dropping a gun on Rainbow’s lap. “Uh, Sunset, what’s with the gun?” Sunset put her index finger to her lips. Rainbow wanted to push the subject but Sunset grabbed her by the arm and pulled her out of bed. “What’s going on?” Sunset pointed out the window. “Is that a zombie, sweet let’s go.” Rainbow pulled Sunset out of the house and toward the highschool.
“Rainbow, stop, there’s zombies everywhere.” Rainbow skid to a stop halfway to the school and looked at Sunset. “Thank you Rainbow, now where did all the zombies go?”
“There’s one, it’s eating someone.” Rainbow pointed out
“Should we shoot it?” Sunset asked
“No, it’ll just attract more, let’s watch.” Rainbow sat on the curb and watched the zombie eat from a distance. Sunset was next to her appalled by the idea of just watching. ‘In the spirit of Halloween, I’ll let the zombies live and terrorize everyone instead of killing them. It’ll freak out Sunset and make her question my loyalty but it’s a dream, so this should be fun. Only a dream could be this awesome right. It has to be, if it wasn’t, I might actually be secretly scared right now.’ Rainbow thought.
“What, are you crazy?”
“Nope I just want to see where this dream goes.” Rainbow said as she dragged Sunset down the road to the Canterlot High.
“What are you talking about, this isn’t a dream.” Sunset raised her gun at a zombie eating someone across the street but Rainbow knocked it out of her hand. “What are you doing?”
“I want to see how much you freak before turning on me.” Rainbow gave a smirk that bugged Sunset more than she already was until Twilight ran past. “Hey Twilight.” Twilight turned her head around to see who called her and then ran right into a pole and knocked herself out as more zombies came to get her. “Well that’s unfortunate.”
“Let’s go help her.” Sunset started toward Twilight but was stopped by Rainbow. “What are you doing?”
“She’ll be fine.”
Sunset stood there silent for a moment and then yelled. “SHE WILL NOT BE FINE! Now let’s go help her.”
“Eh, too late. I wonder if that hurts?”
“Of course it does you idoit.”
“I’m controlling everything since this is my dream?” Rainbow said.
“This isn’t a dream Rainbow.” Sunset slapped Rainbow Dash and then grabbed her by the shoulders. “You are in denial.”
“You know I have a religious joke right now, should I say it?” Rainbow was so going to say it just to make Sunset made.
“No.” Sunset said deadpanned.
“Too bad going to anyway, oh hey Pinkie.” Rainbow immediately forgot about telling the joke and gave Pinkie a big hug. “Sunset is freaking out, and you’re a zombie.” Rainbow said as she was pulled away by Sunset.
“Yeparoony.” Pinkie looked to Sunset. “Can I eat you Sunset.”
“Go for it.” Rainbow said.
“Hey, what the heck Rainbow? Why don’t you care about anything little miss loyalty?” Sunset screamed. “Also why can she talk?”
“There’s the doubt in my loyalty I was looking for.” Rainbow said proudly.
“It’s a dream silly but if you don’t want me to eat you, I’ll eat Rainbow. Then I’ll see if I’m still hungry.”
“Nope, you can’t eat me, if you do, I’ll wake up.”
Pinkie nodded in understanding. “Oh, your right, I’ll eat Sunset and then you. That way you can at least enjoy this dream to the end.” Pinkie turned to Sunset who was already being eaten by Applejack. “Oh come on, I wanted to eat her.”
“Sorry Pinkie, too late.” Applejack said and then handed Pinkie an arm. “Here you go, have an arm.”
“Aw, you’re so sweet AJ.” Pinkie bit into the arm.
Rainbow chuckled. “So where are the others?”
“They’re comin. The others are the slowest zombies ever. Oh hey, here comes Twilight.” AJ said
“I want the first bite on Rainbow Dash.” Pinkie tried to get to Rainbow but she was too late.
Rainbow turned around in time to get bitten and pushed to the ground. “I guess it’s time to wake up now.”
Just as everything was fading to black, she heard Pinkie yell. “Seriously I was here first!”
Rainbow woke up and found Sunset standing next to her. “Ah!” Rainbow fell out of her bed and landed on the floor. “What are you doing here?”
“It’s Saturday and the dance is tonight, we just need to finish off the last few details. Hurry up and get dressed.” Rainbow nodded and looked at the clock. It was eleven in the morning.

That night came around and everyone was dressed up and having a good time. Even the kids from Crystal Prep were there in all corners of the gym admiring the detail put into the decorations and having a blast. “How awesome is this party?” Rainbow commented. The group of friends decided to dress up as ponies except for Pinkie who wasn’t there and wanted her costume to be a surprise. Twilight was dressed in her Midnight Sparkle costume. “Rarity did an awesome job with the costumes.”
“I’ll say she did Miss Dash.” Rainbow flipped around and saw Principal Celestia and Vice Principal Luna, broken nose and all. “How you doin?” The two principals were dressed as trolls for only one reason.
“Sorry about everything the last couple days.” Rainbow chuckled and rubbed the back of her.
“It’s alright and don’t worry Miss Dash, you won’t get expelled until after graduation.” Celestia and Luna walked off without another word.
“Thank you, wait what? Does that mean I’m not graduating?”
“Rainbow Dash, I’m sure you’ll graduate, you know maybe.” Sunset chuckled.
“This isn’t funny and where is Pinkie at?”
“Here I am.” Pinkie turned with Rainbow Dash.
“Where?”
“Here I am.” Pinkie did it again staying behind Rainbow. It went on for some time before Rainbow finally caught her.
“You’re dressed up like a zombie pony?” Rainbow jumped back.
“Yep and sorry about messing with you.” Pinkie grabbed Rainbow in an apology hug and then Rainbow yelped.
Rainbow Dash felt her shoulder. “You bit me and actually drew blood.” Rainbow stood there stunned for a second before she ran off screaming and tripped over a bucket and hit her head on the nearby wall knocking herself out.
“You think the bite was too much?” Pinkie asked wiping the fake blood off Rainbows shoulder.
“Hey, she deserves with how pranky she’s been lately.” Rarity said as the group of friends picked her up and set her down on the stage.
“So what now?”
“Let’s go have some fun.” Sunset said and all but Pinkie left.
Pinkie stroked her zombie chin and then licked Rainbow. “She doesn’t taste that good, zombies could better.” With that said, she ran off to join the others.
