It was an early morning in the library, Twilight was having her goodnight sleep when something happens to wake her up. She heard something rumbling in the kitchen, she checked the clock just to see it turned to 7 o'clock. Twilight went downstairs to investigate the noise, but the only thing she saw was David sitting there, reading the newspaper while eating eggs.
David noticed Twilight looking at him and spoke up, "Morning, Sparkles."
Twilight just stood there, confused. David doesn't usually wake up this early and also, he doesn't make himself breakfast.
"So, what's the occasion?", Twilight asked.
"Nothing, just waking up early, making breakfast and heading out to Applejack and work for the rest of the day.", David said while still reading his newspaper.
"Hold on a second, you got a job?!!", she gasp in surprise.
"Oh yeah, forgot to tell you about that. Yes, I got a job yesterday at the farm. Lifting up crates like I lift those weights.", David said while flexing his muscles like yesterday with Applejack.
Twilight couldn't help but to let out a giggle, begging him to stop flexing. Looks like David got a new trick to show how manly he is.
"It seems like you just took a small step to the stairs of happiness. By the way, you might need some new clothes. You have been wearing the same outfit for approximately 3 days now."
"Good point, so where do I find new clothes?"
"Eat your breakfast, I'll show you the place. She's my friend anyways, so you're free of charge."
"We're going to Rarity, aren't we?"
"How could you tell?", Twilight said
"Well, you told me she was a fashion designer and she got a shop somewhere and all of that jazz, how could I not know?", David said while chewing his food.
Twilight blushed as she forgot what she had told him the other day, "Oh yeah, I totally forgot about that! My bad!"
"Alrighty then, let's jazz out of here.", David said while once again, threw all of the dishes into the sink.
Twilight and David walked to the boutique where Rarity works, they open the door and the bell rang.
"Coming!~~", the two heard a few hoofsteps coming from upstairs, the pony with the white coat spoke up, "Hello, darling! What brings you to my shop?"
"My friend needs some new clothes to wear, do you think you can hook him up?"
"Sure Twi! All I need is some measurement and his clothes will be done in no time! I'm generous for a reason you know."
"Okay David, go with Rarity for measurements, I'll stay out here waiting for you."
David nods and followed Rarity. After going into the room, Rarity spoke up, "So, you're David right?"
"Yes, you heard me through the news didn't ya?"
"Correct! You look a lot more... handsome than I could imagine.", she looked at David, trying to charm him.
David felt uncomfortable about this, he quickly changes the subject, "About the measurements, do I need to do anything else?"
Rarity shook her head and said, "I just need to take your measurements and you're good to go!"
She levitates the measuring tape at David. It took her awhile to do it since David is the first human for her to measure. Suddenly, David heard something scratching in the other room, he looked behind him and saw a cat.
"Is that your cat?", David asked.
"Yes, that's Opal, my pet cat. Be careful when you're near her, she doesn't like to get touched."
"I'll keep that in mind whenever I'm in your shop.", David looked at the cat again only to hear the cat hissing at him. He never likes cats anyways.
After thirty minutes of measuring, saying goodbye to Rarity and head off with Twilight.
"Hey Twilight?", said David.
"Yeah?"
"Is it weird to know that Rarity is flirting with me?"
"Don't worry about it! She always like that when somepony with a handsome look walks into her boutique."
"Oh, that's good to know. Anyways, can I ask you another question?
"Go for it."
"Can I have a pet?"
Twilight looked at David and chuckles, "What kind of question is that? Of course you can have a pet! Do you need me to take you to Fluttershy's cottage?"
"Well, if you don't mind of course."
"I don't mind at all, by the way, what kind of pet are you getting?", Twilight asked.
"Hmm, I'm not sure, haven't decided one yet. But I'm sure I'll figure one out as soon as I get there."
The two walked to Fluttershy's cottage, Twilight knocked at the door. Surprisingly, the door was opened by a bunny.
Twilight greeted the bunny, "Hi Angel! Is Fluttershy home by any chances?"
Angel took a glance at David with his suspicious eyes before nodding at Twilight.
"Angel? Who's outside?", David heard a small voice coming from the inside.
The door was opened by a butter yellow color mare, she look at David with her terrified eyes before letting out a squeak, "EEEK!"
"Fluttershy! Don't worry, he won't hurt you. He's my friend."
Fluttershy does seem to calmed down a little bit after hearing about David was Twilight's friend. He guess she doesn't read the news recently.
"W-w-what are you, mister?"
"My name is David and I'm a human. Care to introduce yourself?", David knew her name already, but he went for it anyways.
"My name is .... Fluttershy."
"...I'm sorry what now?"
"I'm Fluttershy."
David heard it that time, he doesn't knew she was that shy, better listen to Twilight next time.
"Nice to meet you Fluttershy, do you know why we are here?"
Fluttershy shook her head and David spoke up, "I'm looking for a pet to keep me company, can you show me some that I can keep?"
After hearing that question, Fluttershy just screams with joy, "Of course you can! Come with me, I'll show you all of them in the back."
She leads him to the back of the yard, David jaws just dropped down the ground as he look at how many animals were there. Birds, chickens, you name it, she got it.
"Oh my goodness, that's a lot of choices for me to pick. Wait a minute, is that a bear?!!", he looked behind Fluttershy to see a bear running full speed at them. Before he could react, the bear stopped in front of Fluttershy, sitting down like a dog.
"Now then, what did I told you about running at ponies and scaring them?", she said with a slight anger in her voice.
The bear looked down like dogs when they are sad. David is surprise at how she is managing them like this, especially a bear!
But then something in the distance catches his eyes, this time it is a big bird, bigger than the others around. It seems to be getting a little bit closer to him, close enough for him to identify what was that bird, "Is that an eagle?!"
An eagle landed on Fluttershy's back, "Yes mister David, this is an eagle."
David jaws were still dropped on the round because of amazement, she got the coolest bird on the entire planet!
"I'm totally gonna accept the eagle on this one!"
"Ummm, okay. I guess I will have to show you the ways to raise him properly."
David listened to Fluttershy about everything he needed to make this eagle the best pet he have ever had. After a long and boring talk, he finally had a pet.
"In order for you to be my friend, you must have a name. How about Riptide? Sounds good to you?"
The eagle nodded with a full smile on it's face. David nodded back at his new companion and Riptide flew off, Fluttershy did said that when he flies off, he will comeback to its be loving owner, he hope that's true.
After working at Applejack for the day, he went back to the library to catch some nice sleeps. He smells something good in the kitchen, he walked in there to see Twilight cooking the same soup she cooked for him at his first day here. After dinner was done, he took a glance at the photo of his family and went to bed.
He always wanted to dream about his family, but the only thing in this dream is pitch black. Darkness, it's the same one he had saw before at Earth.
