I streatched as I entered the room I now shared with twilight and Spike latter that night with chrysilas following me. With ponyville being our base camp against the heartless threat and so many races in one place things have been going quite smoothly all things considered. After the war of shadows and then meeting with Kuuga and Daguva earlier that day I learned that while me, spike and Jex with chrysalis were gone the cmc have already been selected for the flag team for the crystal games. It was then me and Chrysalis noticed the rest of the mane six was there and I forgot that there was going to be a sleepover. Spike was reading what looked to be a comic that all teens tended to read. Mainly about surperheroes. Something nagged the back of my mind about that book. While the girls talked about how their day went and how the world we got dragged to was like which I joined in the conversation then.
"Honestly we didn't see anything about Kuuga and daguva's equestria just a pocket dimension that was built by surprise pinkies pegasus ancestor. The two called it a infinite storage cube. Also turned out a folder of info has been appearing to displaced after some time has passed but I been wondering why it hasn't appeared here yet. Something to do with discord and the dimensional barrier from what little I got a glimpse of" I explained with a sigh.
"I will admit it was fun meeting them. Though james here had to use a thunder spell to knock a unicorn there back to her senses. She was getting a bit insane at the time. Body shape was odd though. It resembled more along my own then chrysalis' own body" Compared spike confused as he thought about it.
"I think it is because the equestria they are at is one of the humaniod varients where most of the life there is anthromorphic. Makes sense considering the multiverse even alternates of this world will not always be the same in some way. Think of what would this world be like if your species was switched around for everyone. There might be a world were dragons and ponies switched just like that" I said with a wince.
"Basically the multiverse has infinite possibilities and can give a headache trying to think on all of them" I added.
"So we are mainly in a cluster of similar universes" asked twilight curious.
"Very much so but well there is a chance I might not have landed in the equestrian quadrant of the multiverse. When I got Displaced I was dressed as a guy that traveled to different worlds. The nature of that character could have meant I can travel other sectors and meet the guy I was dressed as. Which is why I have to help you figure out what that box contains at the tree of harmony and seal off this world from the heartless. So I can be sure I have a place to come back when I do have to leave on my travels. Plus when you all gain your keyblades and then get your keyblade armor I can take you with me because for one thing a journey is better if you are not alone on it. And thanks to that station connecting some displaced world's already we can use that to find our way back. That reminds me I got to see about what world's we might run into. Some different universes have a set rule on them that can change your entire body to fit in. Makes you wonder what can happen on such a journey" I said and I knew this was true. Sora practically never stays on destiny islands his home world anymore in the games well not for long. Kinda really hits home that as a world traveler sora no longer had much connection to his home world anymore. He hasn't even been there for two years and he had changed so much in his journey that he wouldn't know how to fit in. I mean I been around over a thousand years despite still having my mentality of being twenty and I have no clue what is going on back on my earth when I vanished. Plus if I do even find my way back chrysalis would have to come with me. I had figured out that anyone I frequently partner up with in a certain drive would count as a perminant party member on my travels and if I gain other drive partners they have to come with as well.
While I was with chrysalis checking how her hive was going along I talked with her about it and she understood that eventually she would have to leave her home because of our connection. Which is why she was looking for a successor among her hive to lead things in her absence when I did have to leave equestria to find different world's other then this one or alternates.
Suddenly I felt that a strong wind had entered the room.
I turned around and saw spike was being suck into his comic book and wide eyed everyone currently there tried to pull him out only to get dragged along with him.
When I came to we were actually on a sky scraper and I saw the girls were different.
Twilight wore a purple version of my drive clothes but tali red to resemble a superhero costume replacing the clothes under the jacket with a bodysuit but kept the pouches and wore a mask that was white. Surprisingly she was human.
Rainbow dash was the same only her bodysuit and jacket was designed like the wonderbolts uniform and kept her wings. Her mask was a bit shaped like lightning.
Fluttershy was pretty much forest green for her costume while her mask was more vampiric in nature.
Applejack had Valor form colors but more fire based if I had to guess.
Pinkie was just pink with a rose like mask.
Rarity was in a darker purple almost onyx version of twilight's costume with a mask much like a gem.
Chrysalis was pretty much in her regular colors but was dressed much like a regale knight like queen with her sheild on her back and still had her insect like wings as well. Spike was pretty much not changed while me I seem to have now a cloak acting as a cape in the same default black as my regular drive clothes.
"What in the hay happened to us" asked twilight looking over her new body finding her wings were folded to her back while her magic seemed to changed focus to her hands if what she could feel was right.
"Remember what I said about how certain world's have set rules? Turned out spike's comic was a way into a world inside it's pages. Books can have world's in them we can travel to as well" I said thinking of pooh's story book and feeling Deja vu about this.
"How was I supposed to know. I got halfway through the book when I discovered the rest of the pages were blank! I found something at the inside back cover and next thing I know we're here" said Spike in his defense.
"So you currently have a idea on where we currently are" asked chrysalis looking around. Seemed we were in what looked like new York City but with a slight futuristic Gotham city feel.
"No way this is maretropolis! Home of the power ponies!" Said Spike wide eyed.
"Power ponies? You mean like lance's home" I asked remembering the azure striker I talked with during days off on the war of shadows.
"Oh right how did I not remember yhst" said Spike in realazation.
"But I doubt this is the same one lance is from otherwise the girls would have became the power ponies themselves from what he and lumin told us" I said looking around.
"True out of everyone dash's costume is the closest to zapp" agreed chrysilas recalling what she heard from lance during that war.
The group heard a commotion down below. Looking over the nine found what looked like a purple mare in a pink bodysuit with long tendrils of green hair and a crazed look in her eyes facing what looked like the girls pony forms as superheroes and Spike before he gained a keyblade.
And by the looks of things the heroes were having trouble.
"Well there's masked matterhorn, zapp, fillisecond, sadlle rager, radiance and mistress mare-Volus. And humdrum. If we are stuck in this world for now we might as well help the locals" I said as my protective instinct told me that I had to help them.
"Might as well otherwise we are not able to go home" said twilight. With that I and Spike summoned our keyblades and threw them in a strike Raid'd cutting off the hair that had tied up the power ponies.
"What in the world! Where did those giant keys come from!" Asked masked matterhorn wide eyed as the hair fell off her and her team.
Suddenly nine figures jumped down making them wide eyed.
"Oi miss tangle! Don't you know green of that shade isn't natural of a hair color!" I taunted with a grin as my keyblade flashed back into my hand.
"What! Who dares interfere with my revenge!" Demanded who I now recognized as the Mane-iac one of the power ponies main villians.
"Light's the name and me and my friends are going to be sure to give you a much needed hsircut" I said as hey we were dressed as heroes might as well play along.
Seemed twilight and the others caught on.
"Stormwing work with zapp from the air! Shine help radiance box her in, everyone else try and do what you can" said twilight as her hands started to glow with her magic.
"Right dusk" I said with a nod as we helped the power ponies up.
"Here's a bit of a boost for us! Stop!" I said casting the stop spell making a clock frozen in time to appear over the mane-iac make freezing her in time.
"Hurry that time spell won't last long" I warned.
With that fillisecond grinned and actually tied up the villain with her own hair while rarity used her magic to levitate debris around her as another restraint as radiance used a energy construct to hold it together while the Two in the air hovered over her as the rest of us surrounded her just as the spell ended.
When mane-iac realized she was trapped she let out a scream of rage before being hauled off by the police.
The fifteen of us watched from a nearby roof with fillisecond laughing at the villians reaction.
"Okay thanks for helping us but who are you and why does he look like a older humdrum" asked the matterhorn curious.
"Your welcome and as for who we are can we talk someplace more secure it's a bit of a long story" I said with a sigh. With that all of us went to the power ponies hq which reminded me a lot of titans tower for some reason.
As we sat at the conference table I took a deep breath.
"My name is james del light with me is my niece twilight sparkle" I pointed to dusk, as the power ponies know her,
"Over there is my apprentice spike, rarity is over there looking at the decor and the shy one is fluttershy, the regal lady here is my old friend queen chrysilas, the pink one talking to fillisecond about recipes is pinkie pie, the blonde is apple jack, hovering in her seat is rainbow dash each of us got transported here by a unknown means" I said with most of the power ponies sans fillisecond were shocked.
"Wait she's me? But how and how are you her uncle? You look no older then sixteen!" Said matterhorn taking off her mask.
"We are from another world actually. Spike over there was reading a comic when next thing we know he was getting absorbed by the book. We tried to pull him out but got dragged along. When we did most of us got changed to fit this world. Spike and James here are the ones not effected. As for how he's my uncle... he's adopted by my aunt in law as a brother so he became my uncle. The reason he looks sixteen is that he was turned into stone a thousand years back and had only been freed for hmm a month. A lot happened back home" explained twilight.
"I'm used to going to alternate realities since I got dragged to equestria from my world unwillingly but I know the multiverse theory quite well. I actually been to other equestrias. Sometimes when traveling to certain world's a rule gets imposed to fit in. This world is within a comic book back in our home and it's nature got imposed so we can fit in. This is a world of heroes after all" I said making matterhorn nod in understanding.
"James as a world traveler knows of others like him. People taken from their realities and placed in another are referred to as displaced short for dimensionally misplaced. James here has met a few and has heard even books can have worlds. This is just one of those times" said twilight.
"Yep crazy things tend to happen even when you don't want to. I think when we got pulled into this world the girls regular forms and personalities got reflected when they transformed to bring you as you are. From what I sensed as we were being sent in the comic was enchanted to bring readers into the roles of the story but as there was more then the roles had available they got copied to fulfill the original intent making you seven the local versions. Spike must have fit the role of humdrum as the moral compass in this world a bit. The fact you got your own thoughts and personalities different then us show your not just a copy but your own person. You don't have any of their actual memories otherwise you would have known about the keyblade" I said making the whole group nod.
But why is spike older then me if I'm supposed to be a reflection of him in this world" asked humdrum curious.
"Actually he is as old as you are but when he gained a keyblade his body was altered to fit his mentality at the time. He took on a entire giant dragon of darkness to save other dragons on his own which earned him his keyblade as he understood what set him apart from other dragons. His heart" I explained.
"Flare my phoenix was a big help in that" said Spike remembering.
"That explains why your keyblade represents the bond you have to that bird" I said amused.
"Just as yours represents your bond with luna" asked spike.
"Actually I made the Keychain for that you know why I don't like to wield the one that manifested from my heart" I said with a wince.
"About it being connected to someone else and not feeling that it is meant for you?" Asked spike.
"Two becomes one is the name of the keyblade I manifested first. It was used by a person by the name of Roxas who came into existence with a kind of flawed origin. Back home we are fighting beings of darkness known as heartless. Their the manifestation of the darkness in everyone's hearts. If a strong willed person becomes a heartless the body left behind gains a will of its own. That latter is what Roxas is. The body left behind when sora another keyblade wielder lost his heart and became a heartless. Their called nobodies, beings who never existed yet do. Two becomes one belongs to him because it represents the connection to sora he has and the Bonds sora made. Knowing that how can I have it if it's not what I feel is really what represents me" I explained to everyone making them go wide eyed.
"When you put it that way I can see why you prefer nocturne and solarflare as they represent bonds you made not what Roxas and sora made" said twilight.
"Even harmonic chaos the keyblade you got from harmony and Emerl when we met them" said spike.
"You may look like Sora but your not him" agreed rarity understanding that.
"I believe on making my own path not one already walked which is why I won't use two becomes one as that belongs to someone who has gone down another's path" I said thinking of ventus.
"Well is there anyway we can help you nine back to your wotld" asked zapp.
"Can you help us locate the keyhole? It's a kind of enterence to the heart of the world. If the heartless find it they can consume it and destroy the world. With my keyblade we can seal it off from them and if we do that we can return home then can come between both worlds anytime to visit" I asked making the power ponies nod.
"No problem with all fifteen of us we can cover the whole city to search" said fillisecond.
"Be sure to pick up a communicator so we can keep in touch" said matterhorn.
"But first let's get some sleep I was about to get some shut eye when we got pulled in and the adrenaline is now wearing off" I said yawning. With that we each went to some guest rooms to sleep.
I just knew that tomorrow was just the start of our time in this world.
