Yonder Wandered Fluttershy

“Okay I have to ask just what are you?” Lucky couldn’t have met three stranger beings; then again there was something off with the pink whippet that had ‘rescued’ the crazy puppy and the purple puppy did smell like her a bit.

Fluttershy went into a long winded explanation which needed its own pamphlet by this point; it took ten minutes to explain her, her daughter and what they were currently doing. Also a demonstration in cloud shaping was had when Fluttershy created a cloud out of sea water and then shaped it as if it were a balloon into a dog shape.

“Hey, I always said magic was real, but none of you guys believed me!” Niblet also knew aliens were real; it was just that the alien dog they befriended looked like a normal dog wearing fake antenna and his family also looked normal until that van took off to the sky.

“Okay, there has to be some logical reason behind your precipitation controlling ability.” Strudel was a little put off by Fluttershy’s magical ability to create and manipulate water, she was a dog of science and this was definitely messing with her head.

“Well at least you’re the most accepting of your group about this.” The tiny Belladonna huffed sadly despite Soft Echo still cuddling against her; she had a lot in common with the magically born pony. “Don’t we have somewhere to be right now? I probably won’t be seeing you again for a long time mom; it’s been nice knowing you though since you ‘saved’ me from the roof. Now can you get her to stop so I can get in the boat?”

Annabelle looked slightly put off to be called mom, it was a bit strange and she was about to ask what Belladonna meant when Fluttershy spoke up first.

“Oh, right… so you’re coming with us Belladonna?” If she was going to be responsible for another mouth, Fluttershy was going to have to probably get dog food.

“I’m not Belladonna, the names Donnabelle and don’t you forget it!” The Belladonna pup now named ‘Donnablle’ tried to look haughty, only to end up looking cute with Soft Echo clinging to her back.

“Why did you call me mom?” It was a bit of an odd thing to Annabelle that a reincarnated Belladonna would already have a different name.

“Well my other mother isn’t currently alive and she’s moved on to greater pastures.” Gathering the ponies, lemurian and her mother together, Donnabelle started speaking in a softer tone so as to not be overheard by the five dogs talking amongst themselves. “Look, these Pound Puppy guys don’t need to know about angels and demons. Magic is alright because they aren’t likely to run into it. Also you’re my mom because apparently Belladonna accidentally absorbed a fuck ton of holy energy from you, mostly from those times you and her got incredibly intimate. It explains why I have these dumb feathered wings compared to my mommies really bitching demonic wings. I’m a cross between a demon and an angel and while I do have a part of Belladonna’s soul, I’m not her. All that excess holy energy she didn’t know about before she died kind of led to my existence, you can say a ‘miracle’ happened. Sniff me… I am your daughter even if I am kind of Belladonna by quasi reincarnation mother. I don’t entirely have mommy’s soul, but I do have her memories and she was freaking awesome.”

Taking a sniff of Donnabelle and then making her eyes glow for a second Annabelle blinked back some shock. Donnabelle did have some of Belladonna in her, but she was definitely something completely new. She started to nuzzle Donnabelle and the puppy started eating up the affection with some soft if rather demented sounding cackling.

“Yes I can see the truth, but I’m afraid I don’t understand why you’re going with them after telling me something like this.” Annabelle was pretty upset that Belladonna would drop something like this on her; she had always wanted children and likely wouldn’t have been able to conceive any being an angelic spirit. She knew Belladonna didn’t like children, so the shock of suddenly having a child left behind by her was a bit sad, scary and heartwarming all at the same time. Even from the grave Belladonna was causing trouble.

“Blame the tick; she formed a familiar bond with me when she plowed right into me. Mommy was able to stop that bond from connecting to her because she was strong; I however wasn’t since I’m not nearly as strong. How cruel my mommy was to leave me to a fate worse than death, the fate of being the familiar to this annoying tick.” After a moment of dramatic sighing and lifting the back of her paw to her forehead, Donnabelle smiled a bit. “Yep, she’s definitely batting a thousand as a mother wherever the rest of her soul ended up. I’m not going to complain about my lot in life though, but at least we’ll hopefully get some bonding time in later... also I would respectfully like to ask for a hug.”

Annabelle drew Donnabelle into a light hug and snuggled the puppy that yipped slightly at the embrace and then Soft Echo wiggled her way into Annabelle’s affection as well to snuggle against Donnabelle. Belladonna would never ask for a hug even if she really wanted them, so that was one thing that was already different about Donnabelle.

“I’m never going to be rid of her am I?” Donnabelle had a long treacherous future of snuggling and cuddling ahead of her.

“It’s rather nice of you to be my daughters puppy, I’ll be sure to take good care of you and so will Soft when she’s old enough to be responsible for you and I’m sure you’ll also be capable of taking care of yourself anyway.” There was adorability in the air and it was making Fluttershy happy to see Soft Echo so cheered up. “I have a familiar named Angel and he’s waiting back home for me and I’m sure you and he will get along quite nicely.”

“What’s a familiar?” The Pound Puppies from shelter seventeen had obviously finished their chat and it was Squirt the Chihuahua spoke up.

“Oh, sorry… we were almost ready to leave and I guess I should explain why Donnabelle is going to be my daughter’s puppy. A familiar is anything that forms a mystical bond of friendship with another being, the bond can come in many forms and it gives many benefits. One such benefit that usually comes up is an extended lifespan for both individuals.” Fluttershy knew why her little Angel Bunny was always cranky; you would be too if you were going to lose a lot of mates to time and or other incidents. Her rabbit would live as long as a regular pony could, that lifespan sadly didn’t translate to other rabbits though. “The usual rule of a familiar bond involves two individuals; at least one of which has to have magic. The two beings can come together by chance or because one summoned the other on purpose. My daughter Soft Echo has formed such a bond with Donnabelle here; why they are just perfect for each other!”

“Perfect is a bit of long stretch.” Muttered a slightly irate and well loved Donnabelle, she was even starting to enjoy the massive amount of affection she was receiving and wouldn’t admit it to anyone.

“Anyway, the personalities of the two bonded are well meshed in some ways and in others they are vastly different. It’s a bond of two equals in an odd sort of way.” Familiars were a thing Fluttershy knew of quite well. She always tried to pair ponies who were adopting pets with the right animal for a reason; Tank had been a really odd one for Rainbow. As an afterthought she considered the fact that Twilight literally had enough magic to broadcast her presence to her perfect ideal familiar. It would explain why that particularly bright owl ended up finding her and why he was capable of being awake during the daylight hours. “Say your goodbyes Donna, we really need to be going now. I can’t spend another day away from my friends; I’m kind of worried about them.”

Shaking her head Donnabelle hopped into the boat and was followed by an enthusiastically squeaking Soft Echo; Fluttershy was helped into the boat by a quiet and contemplative Virgil who was being quite a gentleman about it.

“There’s a pup for every person and a person for every pup, even if that person happens to be a magical pony from somewhere else.” After a moment Lucky shook his head. “Our lives are just plain weird.”

“Yeah, but you have to admit that it hasn’t gotten boring yet!” Cookie loved her job and her home both at the pound and with her people; this was just another successful mission with a twisted turnout. At least they now knew the puppy’s name and that she would be well cared for or at least they could hope for that end result. The puppy had caused them a lot of trouble and it was a good peace of mind for them to pawn Donnabelle off on someone else.

“Goodbye Fluttershy, I’ll tell the boys you said so long. I really need to get some sleep.” Yawning, Sasha slunk away from the docks looking tired from her run to the docks to stop Fluttershy from leaving without Donnabelle.

“It has been very interesting to meet you Miss Fluttershy, but I must be off. I’ve got some jobs to hand out to my associates today and I’ve already spent too much time off already.” Annabelle turned to leave and stopped. “I will hopefully get to see you again Donnabelle, I’m a very busy dog after all. You’re exactly what I would have expected had she and I had a puppy together.”

“I’ll just take that as a compliment it was meant to be Annie.” Donna sardonically replied as the pink dog left and disappeared into thin air behind the Pound Puppies still looking their way.

“So where are you heading off to?” Turning back to Lucky they could see he was a little interested in why they were all getting into a small boat.

“We’re going to the east coast; we will end up in New York upon activation of the portal under the golden gate bridge.” Virgil could hear Fluttershy audibly sighing in aggravation and wondered what it was that he had exactly said to cause such a reaction.

“Say, since you’re going to New York, can you give a message to a dog named Dodger? It shouldn’t be too far out of your way and he’s always running around Fifth Avenue there on the lookout for lost or abandoned pups.” If they did somehow miraculously end up in New York, Lucky would be sure to hear about it. So magic existed? Well it wasn’t like it was a problem for him to solve; he’s seen plenty of strange things before meeting the ponies and the large humanoid chicken.

It was Thursday and things were actually looking good for Bonnie, she had managed to double back with Roller and evade Samus. The question would be, for how long would that last? The lady was damn relentless and powerful with that Chozo battle armor of hers and the ability to decimate anything within fifty feet of her was not to be taken lightly.

Bonnie was still having problems with Valkyrians, but the Hench Company people had quickly fled the area saying something about needing pay raises and bigger armaments. She had barely gotten any sleep last night, but now she could rest for a while as Roller had brought her back into Beach City while on the lookout for the incredibly scary hunter.

-

Samus was wearing local clothing and was still on the lookout for Bonnie, while she was doing that she was buying some food for her animal friends. Bonnie would have to eventually activate the Head Hunter to leave the area, the incredibly swift thief was sticking close to Beach City and Samus wanted to know why. Aside from that she was going to pick up a few bounties on those Valkyrians, which were wanted alive.

Bringing in targets alive was something Samus had rare acquaintance with; her Metroid genetics along with her Chozo blood was making her have a higher caloric intake than usual. She was looking forward to eating something really fattening too.

A mild thought brought her back to the strange geode people who were helping Bonnie and fighting on her side, they could obviously pass as natives and she’d investigate into them a bit as well.

It was a pleasant day in New York, Central Park was a quiet out of the way place where one could go to relax for a spell. Two chipmunks were roughhousing near the fountain; two humans and one almost human were having a picnic on the grassy knoll. Things were just quite peaceful, until a torrent of saltwater slammed down on the fountain and the three having a picnic in a large wave. Four waterlogged bodies that just got finished getting sucked through a portal, started sitting up.

Fluttershy tapped herself with a hoof and a cloud puffed off of her body leaving her fur clean and dry, she was going to do the same for Soft Echo only she did it herself. She was proud that her little filly was learning to do it herself so she wouldn’t have to.

Soft Echo sent the cloud after her mothers and then tapped Donnabelle before she could shake the water off and another cloud went following after the smaller one. She watched the clouds go off into the sky with a smile while her mother got Uncle Virgil all cleaned up. She was a good filly and her doggy was all dry now and oh so fluffy!

“That is a most useful ability.” It was quite good after all the times Virgil got stuck having to dry off his feathers or his red robe, not to mention his magical parchment that showed many various things and acted as a worldwide map to the portals that permeated around Earth.

“Someone please tell this tick she’s going overboard with the love here… though I didn’t mind the assist.” She would continue to gripe, but Donnabelle would be mostly ignored.

“Hey it’s Fluttershy, guys this is the magical alien I was talking about. What are you doing back in New York?” One explanation to Jake and his two friends later, he sighed and shook his head. “Yeah, it happens. I know how it feels to be stuck going around in circles at times.”

“You’re daughter is very sweet ma’am, she’s quite the little cutie and her strange winged puppy is none too bad either.” Trixie the dark skinned girl was having a good time rubbing Soft Echo’s belly and Donnabelle was getting in on that action as well.

“Just don’t get too attached.” There were a lot of nice humans or at least Fluttershy was meeting a lot of them. Then there were the not so nice ones like the mullet man or the sumo ninja clan. “Sorry about your picnic.”

“Hey, it’s okay. This is probably one of the coolest things about being your friend Jake.” Spud the tall lanky guy seemed overly laid back. He lazily rubbed Fluttershy behind one of her ears as she kept her attention on Jake. “All this magical stuff and now aliens too, you have to admit it’s all pretty sweet even if some of its dangerous. Maybe we can even get some laser guns that go ‘pew’ while we’re at it; it would put a whole new meaning on laser tag. Though it did kind of ruin our picnic, at least the potato salad had the lid on it before we were hit with that tidal wave from California. I think most of the food is still good if a bit soggy.”

“I’m sure they’re very sorry, so do you guys need some help? I’m sure I can get in contact with the MIB through Fu Dog, they can give you a ride down south.” Pulling out his new cell phone, since his last one was stolen by Bonnie, Jake called up Fu who got him in contact with Cobra Bubbles. “Hey Agent CB, we got a bit of an emergency. It seems Fluttershy got into an accident and ended up back in New York due to some magical portals and recently got tangled up with some demons. She’s doing fine; she just needs a ride back to her friends who are likely still in Beach City. Okay, yeah I’ll tell her, thanks for listening and I’ll keep a promise to only call you in a true emergency that I can’t handle on my own. You’re in luck Fluttershy, Agent CB is being sent south to deal with the recent dangerous alien activity going on around there. He’ll be by to pick up you and you’re friends soon and then he’ll drive you there.”

While they waited Soft Echo chased Donnabelle over to the fountain where the two chipmunks were drying off.

“I swear Chip, it all just fell out of the air. It also tastes kind of salty. You think maybe Fat Cat or that crazy fish are trying to do something related to the sea again?” The red nosed chipmunk in a red Hawaiian shirt was talking to a black nosed chipmunk in bomber jacket and fancy looking tiny fedora.

Soft Echo stopped chasing her doggy to look in on the two chipmunks; she squeaked slightly and put her little hooves under her chin to watch the two.

“How would Fat Cat even get that much ocean water out here to dump on top of us Dale? Use your brain, something strange is going on… here?” Chip looked and noticed the fanged filly looking him over with an expression of curiosity, he blinked up at her and she blinked right back.

“Uh yeah, I’d say that that is pretty strange Chip.” Now Dale too was staring at the filly just watching them. She gave off a soft squeak of hello, but didn’t do much more than just watch them watching her.

“Oh hello there, who are your little friends Soft?” Fluttershy came up upon the two chipmunks and Donnabelle followed close behind.

“Well at least she stopped…” Donnabelle couldn’t say much more, because in an instant Soft Echo was a squeaking missile that rammed into her chest knocking her onto her back. She was once again being snuggled against her will. She had to lament the fact that she had gotten too close to Soft Echo. “I walked right into that one; in hindsight I should have seen that coming. You are without a doubt the most annoying tick I’ve ever had to deal with, but this does feel kind of nice.”

“Ma’am I’m Chip and this is Dale, and we’re the Rescue Rangers!” With a sweep of his hat Chip bowed to Fluttershy before slapping it back on his head.

“Oh you’re Foxglove’s friends. She said you were busy in… Las Vegas was it? Anyway she is currently helping us with a problem, she should still be in Beach City and I’m going to go meet up with her and my other friends later today once my ride gets here.” The two chipmunks looked nice and Fluttershy could immediately tell which one was Dale just because Foxglove wouldn’t stop talking about him. “You must be Dale, Foxglove talks about you a lot.”

Dale just blushed and rubbed the back of his head, Foxglove could always make him feel sheepish even when she wasn’t currently present.

“Yeah, things in Vegas went pretty well for us, though we could have done without nearly dying of heat exhaustion and having to disarm a live bomb. Thankfully it all worked out in the end. If you need our help for a case we’re still resting from our last one, I hope you don’t have any problem that’s immediately concerning ma’am.” Looking over the horse like being for a moment, Chip just had to ask. “By the way, what are you?”

Again Fluttershy could have benefited from having a pamphlet. She was a magical alien pony and that was said along with a quick rundown of how she got into her current predicament, which was already being taken care of by Foxglove. Virgil was the last of his kind and apparently immortal, her daughter was not a vampire and life was just peachy at the moment.

“Well gee, that sounds kind of bad. Are you sure you and your friends don’t need any more help than Foxglove?” Truth be told, Dale was a bit worried about the overly friendly bat that would call herself his girlfriend. When they got home Tammy told them about Foxglove going on a mission that required her magical expertise and that it involved in saving someone’s life.

“We’re good thank you; it sounds like you really need a break. We’re sorry about dropping all that ocean water from San Francisco on your heads, but the portal to get here was underwater. Oh there is something you can do for me if you don’t mind me asking; do you know a dog named Dodger?” Both the chipmunks looked at each other before looking back to Fluttershy. “I need a message delivered to him, if it’s alright that I ask you to do that for me.”

“Yeah, he’s a bit of a thief with his gang, but he’s actually quite friendly. He once helped a little kitten find a good home, so he’s not entirely reprehensible. So what’s this message you needed delivered, our friend Monterey can probably deliver it when he goes on his cheese run and he likely knows how to find Dodger’s gang.” At least Fluttershy wouldn’t need to go traipsing about New York, who knew what trouble would happen if she did. So she delegated the issue to Foxglove’s friends after she made sure they wrote it down.

After that was done, Fluttershy and Soft Echo would spend some quality time playing fetch with a stick. Now if only they could only get Donnabelle to actually go after it, then Soft Echo wouldn’t feel so put off that her puppy wouldn’t play the game.

The soonest Wander touched foot down on the ground with a broad smile, he yawned and then passed out before Pinkie popped up spooking Sylvia. Pinkie was the welcoming committee for Sylvia and her sleeping rider, for they had arrived on the planet of Equus and they would bring Fluttershy home.
