"Eeyup" Applejack mocked Big Mac earning her a glare "I can do my part at least."
"You remember what happened last time, don't ya?" Applebloom asked concerned
"What is going on?" Rainbow asked flying down to the farm ponies
"Applejack hurt herself and she still wants to try applebuckin even though she can barely walk." Applebloom explained it was then Rainbow noticed her back left leg bandaged hoof to flank and little areas of blood around her knee.
"I can walk just fine. Now if yall would 'scuse me, I have some work to get done." Big mac picked his sister up before she could limp away "Let me go!" she shouted
"Nope" he said trying to not sound irritated at his stubborn sister
"A.j you are hurt, why don't you just take it easy for once?"
Applejack just glared at Rainbow with a "Traitor" look in her eyes "Cause I don't need anypony help when I am able to do it myself." She snapped back
Applebloom jumped up onto Big Mac to look get more eye level with her sister, "She's right. You're not able to work, so just take it easy. Yall need a break for once or your gonna hurt yourself more"
"You can put me down now Big Mac." Applejack sighed and with that he set her down.
"Wait, wait, wait. You aren't going to try to work again. Are you?" Rainbow asked with Applejacks tail in her mouth so she couldn't try and go anywhere
"Sure am. I told yall I'm fine!" She growled and that is when they noticed a light
"Princess!" Applejack exclaimed running up to the dark alicorn "What are you doin here?"
"Hello Applebloom, I am here to help your sister." Luna explained with a warm smile nuzzling the filly.
"That is mighty kind of yall, but I don't need help."
"Just let her help you. She is the Princess after all." Applejack could tell Rainbow was annoyed at her stubbornness but reluctantly agreed to let Luna help with what ever she came to do.
"Thank you everypony, now Applejack, care to take a walk with me?"
"Umm Princess? Her leg is..." Big Mac started in his deep voice. He didn't talk much, but everypony always secretly loved his voice when he did talk.
"Of course" smiling Luna picked the orange pony up and set her on her back. "We will be back." and with that she started walking towards the one place she knew they could get privacy. The CMC club house.
"What are we doin here princess?"
"I just need to talk to you without little eavesdroppers."
Applejack looked around for a moment. "But what if those three fillies come here?"
"They won't." Luna compacted a little to help easy Applejacks growing anxiety. "This is a dream, I came to help because the magic around it alerted me to your nightmare."
"If this here is a nightmare, then why can't I just wake up?"
"Well you see, I am blocking that for now. We do not have nightmares for no reason, so I am here to help figure out why you had your nightmare. Dreams are reflections of inner consciousness that come out when we are sleeping because there is nothing holding them back. If we don't figure it out, you could have it again." Luna explained trying to keep it at simple as possible.
Applejack took a minute trying to go over Lunas lesson for a minute. "Ok, I think I understand. Yer here to help figure out why I'm havin my nightmare, cause it might come back?"
"Exactly. Now what happened in the wake world that could have caused it?"
"I aint sure. Last thing I remember is applebuckin, since the season just started. I heard something crack, and that is the last thing I remember."
Luna thought for a moment and took in all of the facts. Realizing that the farmer needed to figure it out by herself, she chose not to state the obvious. "Why don't you want any help?"
"Cause I don't need any." She replied quickly without even thinking about it.
"Are you sure that is the only reason?" Luna put her hoof around Applejack
"Positive."
"I would think the element of honesty, would be a little more honest with herself." Luna chuckled
Applejack sighed and sat down knowing that she wasn't going to fool Luna. "I s'pose there is a neither reason." knowing more words would only make things worse Luna decided to just remain quite but instead walked over and gave wrapped her wing around her. "I don't know why I am having this dream, but I am scared I am gonna hurt myself. If I get hurt I can't farm."
"Why are you so scared? I would think it would be nice to take a break." Luna said a little confused
"You see princess, me and working on the farm is apart of who I am. If I had to stop even for a few weeks, then it wouldn't feel right. Like, I ain't me. It would be similar if someone told you, you couldn't raise the moon and stars, or Twi she can't use magic. Or even Pinkie she couldn't throw a party. " she finally admitted mainly to herself then to Luna.
Luna thought for a minute at her examples. "I understand your fears. When I was around your age I broke my horn off, and lost almost all of my magic for a while. I was told if I tried using magic then it might disappear forever. I had to wait until it grew back before I could even attempt even a basic levitation spell. Not being able to rise and lower the moon was a horrible feeling, but I managed to get through it."
"How Princess?"
"Easy, I got to sleep in and let Celestia do all of the work, then laugh at her when she failed. It wasn't like she could say no. My sister is the only other pony who can control the moon, so she didn't have a choice." and with that both of them started laughing.
"Applejack!"
Applejack jumped slightly at the sound of the voice. "What was that."
"Somepony is trying to wake you." Luna explained
"Applejack, wake up!" The voice called again
"I must go now." Luna told her sadly knowing if Applejack woke up, she would be stuck in the dream world. "If you wish though I could come talk with you and see if I can help you further" she offered
"APPLEJACK! Can you hear me?"
"I'd love the help. Thank yall princess." and with that Luna left and her world went white.
"Where am I?"
"Applejack, you are gonna be ok. We need to get you to the hospital." Applebloom explained. It was then she noticed Sweetie bell and Scootaloo getting a wagon ready. Remembering that Big Mac and Granny were out of town.
"What happened?" She asked noticing the sharp pain in her leg as her vision swam
"We just found you like this. Were not sure." Scootaloo called out. It was then they noticed a flash of light.
"My little ponies, do not try to move her in that. I can carry her to the hospital for you." Luna asserted looking at the farm ponies broken leg.
"Thank you princess Luna." the cmc chorused
"How bad is it?" Applejack asked terrified knowing the answer
"It best if you don't know." Luna admitted picking the injured pony up in her magic. "Lets go."
Dear journal,
Today I learned that even if a pony is unaware why they are having a certain dream, it might be because what they are dreaming of, is happening in the wake world. Tonight I helped a friend who was hurt in the wake world, and it showed her injury in her dream, but she could care less about it. All she wanted was to be herself. A trait I see in very few ponies because they always follow trends, or try to impress.
