//------------------------------// // Chapter 1: Adult Shy says bye bye // Story: Pegasi and pacifiers // by Ashe Storm //------------------------------// It was a normal day in Equestria, interrupted only by the sobbing coming from a familiar pegasus' home in the sky... "Hey now, I'm sure you can find a way to fix this, right?" Rainbow Dash asked as she comforted her marefriend Twilight. They had been together for almost a year, and only their dear friend Fluttershy knew. It seemed now that she wouldn't be telling anypony anytime soon. From the center of Rainbow's living room came (one) of the sources of the sobbing, for there sat a small foal with a yellow coat and pastel pink hair, and if you were lucky enough to catch her eyes through her tantrum, you would see the most beautiful turquoise eyes. And no more than four feet away, sitting on the couch, were Twilight and Rainbow Dash, Rainbow silently watching, Twilight throwing just as much of a fit as Fluttershy. Twilight threw her front hooves around Rainbow Dash sobbing into her shoulder, soaking her coat with tears. In response, Rainbow Dash wrapped her wings around Twilight in an attempt to comfort her. Twilight was greatly distressed, that much was clear, and Rainbow Dash could do nothing but stroke her mane with her hooves and hope Twilight calms down. Rainbow Dash couldn't remember the last time she had seen Twilight this upset about anything, but it was understandable, her best friend had just been regressed to a foal and was unable to stop crying. Rainbow Dash was surprised at her own reaction, it seemed as if she didn't care, which was not true, she just wasn't able to fully express the way she felt. "Don't you see how much of a problem this can cause?" Twilight managed between sobs, "The Elements are no longer together!" She finished her last sentence with a large gasp for air. Rainbow Dash could think of nothing encouraging to say it seemed to her, Twilight, however, didn't seem to notice. Fluttershy still didn't seem to understand what was happening around her, and the two mares were not having any luck with finding Fluttershy's reason to throw such a fit. Rainbow Dash decided to at least try and say something to Twilight in order to cheer her up. "C'mon,Twi. Don't be sad, it's not your fau-" "Of course it's my fault! I knew that time turning spell was too much for me, I got too arrogant and look what happened!" Twilight interrupted. As Fluttershy continued to cry, Twilight was trying to clear her head just enough to think of any possible solutions to revert Fluttershy back to her old self. While this was going on, Rainbow Dash's eyes lit up with excitement as she thought of a way to help Twilight. "Twilight!" she cried, "I know what we can do!" She then proceeded to explain how maybe if Twilight performed the spell backwards, it would reverse the spell on Fluttershy. To Twilight it didn't seem very logical and there were too many flaws, like there was no way to perform a spell in reverse, and even if she could the effects it might have on Fluttershy are unknown. "I-I guess that might work," she lied. Wiping away tears, Twilight thought about how much sense that didn't make, but she would try it, just to satisfy Rainbow Dash, who seemed to be acting tough and taking the lead so Twilight would feel better. Rainbow Dash was in all actuality just pleased with herself for coming up with a plan she believed to be foolproof. As Twilight was preparing the spell, Rainbow Dash was sitting on the couch, watching nervously, hoping for her idea to work. Once she was a good enough distance from the two other ponies, she aimed her horn at the foal in the middle of the room, quickly thinking of better solutions. Running out of time, she mentally prepared herself for the worst, thinking nothing of the good things that might happen. She steadied herself as she felt her horn begin to glow, and she recognized the tugging sensation on her head from the magic being released. All Rainbow Dash saw was a blinding flash of purple light, for Twilight, she experienced something entirely different...
