//------------------------------// // Chapter 16 // Story: Resistance: Equestria // by Evowizard25 //------------------------------// Within the walls of an old barn, Bonita looked over her Wildfire. Her double hued hair, two shades of purples, was kept neat and tidy. The faint glow of the candles lit up her olive skin. Even though it was broad daylight, the thick canopy and the fact that she did her best to hide the whole of the barn with boards and stuff, blocked out most of the sun’s rays. She played her fingers over her gun, like it was her own child. The Spaniard took great pride in her firepower and this weapon gave her all she needed. She was never as accurate as her friend, who was known for her marksmanship. She made up for that with the Wildfire. This little beaut helped get her out of quite a few sticky situations. ‘Though, I have Elmyra to thank for most of those situations in the first place.’ She thought, rolling her eyes at the memory of her friend’s deeds. It was like she had a knack for getting into trouble. “Code Unicorn.” She heard some say, knocking on the door slightly. Bonita groaned.‘Speak of the devil.’ She’d rather want to deal with him than her. She went over and unlocked the door. She opened it and looked at her friend. “How many times must I tell you this? We are not using codenames.” “But they’re fun.” Elmyra said. “What’s with your Spaniards? Don’t you know how to have any fun at all?” “Yes we do, but I just don’t like codenames, alright.” Bonita said, irritably. She sent her friend a fierce glare. Elmyra held up her hands, defensively. “Okay, I’ll stop.” “Good.” Bonita let out a relieved breath. “Anyways, what took you so long? You should have been here an hour ago.” Elmyra scratched the back of her head and smiled sheepishly. “Yeah, about that.” Bonita narrowed her eyes. “Elmyra!” “I sort of brought along something extra.” “And that would be?” Bonita crossed her arms, raising an eyebrow.‘If it’s another wounded Leaper or Howler, I’m outa here.’ She never could fathom how the Irish girl could grow attached to such things. Elmyra looked down at the ground and mumbled something. “What was that?” “A hybrid.” Bonita stared at her for a moment, before laughing. “For a moment there, I thought you said you brought a hybrid here.” Elmyra nodded. “You really brought a hybrid here?” Her friend nodded again. The Spanish woman quickly brought a fist and smacked right on the head. “Ow.” Elmyra yowled, clutching her head. “You don’t have to react like that.” “Yes, I do.” Bonita scowled. “Since you obviously need someone to jog your brain now and again.” “Well, thank you.” Elmyra growled. “It’s always nice to know I’m loved. Now, are you going to help me bring it in or not?” “No,” Bonita stomped a foot in protest. “I have to draw the line somewhere and a hybrid definitely crosses it. I’m not letting that thing anywhere near here, unless it has a bullet in its skull, or at least an arrow.” “But it’ll die if we don’t help it.” Elmyra pleaded. “It’s a chimera.” Bonita tried to explain to her friend. “It’s supposed to die.” “But Bonita.” Elmyra whined. “No buts.” Bonita folded her arms and looked away. “I’m not changing my mind.” They stood like that for a moment, before she cast a glance over to her Irish friend. She was looking at her with a sad, hopeless expression. She sighed. ‘Why can’t I say no to her for long?’ “Fine, but if it bites me, consider it dead.” “Yay!” Elmyra squealed, jumping up and down. “You won’t regret it.” She rushed back into the forest. Bonita pinched the base of her nose. “I already do, Elmyra. I already do.” ___________________________________________________________________ The three little fillies trudged their way through the endless amount of trees. They couldn’t remember how long they had been walking or how far from Ponyville they were. They just followed Sweetie Belle deeper and deeper into the unknown. “Are we there yet?” Scootaloo groaned. “Almost.” Sweetie Belle told her. “I can feel it.” She was telling the truth in that regard. The voice in her head just kept getting stronger and stronger. ‘Come to me, my brethren.’ Those words kept repeating themselves over and over and over in her mind. Yet, it didn’t annoy her. It made her more confidant. She felt safe, secure, like nothing could touch her once she reached her destination. “Are ya sure?” Apple Bloom looked around nervously. “I don’t like the looks of this place. We might be getting’ lost.” “No, were not.” Sweetie Belle growled, sending a flare over to her friend who flinched underneath her gaze. She didn’t want to do that, but she really wanted to get to her destination. Nothing else mattered and nopony was going to stop her. “I said we’re almost there.” “Hey, chill Sweetie Belle.” Scootaloo intervened. “Apple Bloom was just concerned is all. You don’t have to get angry with her.” “Yes I do.” Sweetie Belle said. “And why’s that?” Scootaloo cocked her head to the side, wondering why her friend had snapped at them. Sweetie Belle was silent. “I don’t know.” She didn’t want to be angry, but she felt such rage when they seemed like they wanted her to leave. The little filly knew that her friends wouldn’t force her to do anything, but she didn’t want to take any chances. She was going to the song.‘The song calls to me.’ She shook her head, trying to clear her mind. “Are ya alright?” Apple Bloom said, looking concerned for her unicorn friend. “Yeah, just a little headache.” Sweetie Belle put a hoof to her head. “Should we turn back?” Apple Bloom asked her friends. “I’m sure my big brother and the others are worried sick about us.” “NO!” Sweetie bared her menacingly. “Not until we find him.” “Him?” The other two asked in unison. Sweetie Belle shook her head. “I don’t know who he is, but I have to find him. Please don’t make me go back.” The other two crusaders looked at each other and nodded. “We won’t.” Apple Bloom said. “We’re right behind you.” Scootaloo said. Sweetie Belle smiled at them. “Thanks.” They then continued on their way, though it didn’t take them long to reach their destination. With a swipe of her hooves, Sweetie cleared some shrubbery out of their way to look upon the source of her mental messages. They all gasped. For what sat before them was a real live alicorn. He was a large teal colored stallion. His grey hair flowed down from his head. His eyes were closed and he looked like he was in some kind of trance. “What the hay.” Apple Bloom pointed at him. “I thought there was only three of ‘em.” “Well, you were wrong.” Scootaloo said. “Besides, alicorns don’t just fall right out of the sky.” _______________________________________________________________ “INCOMING!” A random Canterlot guard yelled. Of course, a certain group of guardsponies didn’t listen. To which, the night goddess fell right upon them. “MY APOLOGIES, FAIR KNIGHTS.” Luna apologized in her Royal Canterlot Voice. _________________________________________________________________ Sweetie Belle walked closer to the large stallion. He seemed to be at peace. His expression was one of focus.‘I wonder who he is.’ ‘I am an angel, little one.’ Sweetie Belle did a double take. “Did you just talk?” ‘Yes, I did.’ “But how can that be?” Sweetie Belle asked. “You’re not moving your mouth.” ‘I have constant contact with all my brethren. You are among them.’ “But, I never saw you at any of our family reunions.” Scootaloo leaned over to Apple Bloom. “Who’s she talking too?” She whispered into her ear. “I have no idea.” The Earth filly answered. ‘Family reunions?...Wait! You are not one of my brethren. How can you hear me?’ “I don’t know. You just started talking with your mind and I just listened.” ‘Only those with our blood flowing through their veins can hear us. Why is it that a regular creature, such as yourself, can?’ “Well, maybe it’s because I’m a unicorn.” ‘A unicorn? I have never heard of such a thing.’ “How could you not know what a unicorn is?” Sweetie asked. “We’re all over the place.” ‘I am new here, young one.’ It answered.‘I have much to learn...though I wonder.’ “Wonder what?” The alicorn didn’t answer. Instead it opened his eyes, to reveal a pair of golden iris’s. It looked down at them, lowering its head to her level. The stallion looked her in the eye. “You look different than I imagined.” “I do?” Sweetie Belle said, growing a tad bit worried. The alicorn nodded. “Well, so do you. I didn’t think I’d meet an alicorn today. Where’d you come from?” “From somewhere far away.” The stallion answered. “Farther than you could imagine.” He chuckled. “I was quite different back then. I would have gladly killed you on sight.” “I doubt it.” Sweetie said. “You seem like a nice alicorn.” She smiled up at him. “Umm, mister.” Apple Bloom interjected. “Where’s your cutie mark?” “Cutie Mark?” The alicorn cocked his head to the side. “Yeah,” Apple Bloom pointed to his blank flank. “You know. The mark that tells you what you’re talent is.” The alicorn looked at his flank. “I…do not need it.” He looked away. “I know what I’m good at.” “And that is.” Scootaloo leaned in, rather interested. “Telling my brethren what to do.” The alicorn puffed his chest out in pride. “That’s it?” Scootaloo asked. “You think your talent is bossing ponies around?” Apple Bloom put in. “Yes.” The alicorn nodded. “Then if that’s true, where’s you cutie mark?” Sweetie Belle pointed out. The alicorn was silent. “I do not need this ‘cutie mark’.” He growled. “I am fine without it.” “But…” Apple Bloom started. “SILENCE!” His voice boomed, as though he was channeling the same energy Luna was during Nightmare Night. “I will hear no more of these ‘cutie marks’ and that is final.” The three crusaders headed his words. “Okay.” They said. Of course, that’s when Sweetie remembered something. “Oooh, I almost forgot.” She walked forward and stopped right in front of him. “My name’s Sweetie Belle.” “Apple Bloom my name and finding cutie marks my game.” Apple Bloom rushed to her side. “Scootaloo and what she said.” Scootaloo said, rushing over to the other two. They waited a moment. “Aren’t ya goin’ to tell us yer name, mister?” Apple Bloom asked. “I do not have a name.” His ears folded back. “I never got around to naming myself, nor did any of the others.” “Well, how about Nice Guy.” Sweetie Belle said. “That’s terrible.” Scootaloo gagged. “How about, Captain Awesomness.” “That’s stupid.” Apple Bloom said. “As if you can come up with a better one.” Scootaloo challenged. “As a matter of fact, I can.” Apple Bloom smirked. She looked over to him. “Say, did they call you anythin’ back home.” The alicorn tapped his chin. “Through the memories of both my former master, the song, and the humans, I gathered that I was called an angel, or Supreme Commander by my troops.” “That’s it.” Apple Bloom said. “Yer name is now Angel Supreme.” “Hmmm, I kind of like it.” The alicorn said, nodding his head. “Very well, I am Angel Supreme.” Apple Bloom and Sweetie Belle jumped in pure joy. Scootaloo scoffed. “I could have come up with a better name than that.” She muttered to herself. ___________________________________________________________ Chief leaned back in his large seat, playing his trademark kazoo. He was smiling as he played, for his tool always brought him happiness. It helped get his mind off things and cleared his head. He was right now playing a little song that he used to play to his wife all the time. It helped keep her alive in his mind. “A kazoo?” A voice called out to him. “Why, I expected you to be playing something far more outlandish, while performing some death defying stupid trick. My master must have blown your image way out of proportion.” Chief stopped his music and looked around. “Who’s that?” “Just your everyday, run of the mill, delivery colt.” The mysterious intruder said. “Nothing strange about that.” “Well, everyday, run of the mill, delivery colt’s usually don’t hide in the shadows.” Chief noted. “That’s the Mooninites schtick.” “Well okay,” Just then, a hooded stallion walked out of the shadows. “I aint no run of the mill delivery colt, but I don’t think them stuck up moon ponies will think harshly of me about doing it this once?” Chief scratched his chin with a hoof. “I see your point. Anyways, why is it that you’ve come here?” “To deliver a message.” The unicorn told him. There was a long pause. “And, what is it?” Chief asked. “What is what?” The stallion said. “The thing.” Chief said, getting a little annoyed by his unexpected guest. Normally, he’d enjoy things like this. But he had more important things to keep in mind…like buttering toast. “The thing you came here to deliver.” “Oooohh.” The stallion said. “That thing. Yes, well,” The stallion cleared his throat. A soft glow came from under the hood, immediately identifying the intruder as a unicorn. “Dear father,” The speaker’s voice changed to one of a sauve young man. Chief tensed up.‘Him? How could it be him? Why would he be back after so long?’ “I know it’s been a long time since we last met.” ‘Not long enough.’ “But I’d like to make up for lost time.” ‘Huh?’ “To make up for a life filled with terror and pain which you inflicted upon me.” Chief glared at the messenger. He glanced over to where a pale peach colored, floral lamppost stood in the corner. The thought of chucking it at the messenger brought a little amusement to him. ‘You brought it upon yourself, you insolent little brat. Did you forget what you did to this family, to her?’ “Let us put that aside and let bygones be bygones. I wish to extend an olive branch. A union of the two chaos orginizations would be a force not to be trifled with.” Chief rolled his eyes.‘Like I need the help of barbarious blood-letters and such.’ “And to sweeten the deal, I have come across a little nice informative tidbit. I’m sure you’ll love to hear.” Chief’s ears swiveled forward.‘Oh?’ “It has come to my attention that Ponyville, the home of the Elements of Harmony, has been visited by some rather unruly characters.” Chief gulped. ‘How did he find out about that?’ “As to how I found out about that, well, I have eyes and ears in every corner of Equestria.” ‘No way.’ “You may want to get a change of scenery. That lamppost is most unbecoming.” ‘How does he do that?...Oh right. Note to self: Check for spies. Probably should get some pyros for that…Wait, wrong universe.’ “Do not fret over the princesses finding out about it. I have made sure that word can’t get out of Ponyville. Though, the upcoming fair will obviously cause some unneeded frustration, what with the large number of the Equestrian National Guard sure to make their appearance.” Chief groaned, rubbing his temple. If there was one thing he hated, it has the ENG. “I would highly recommend putting our plan into action.” “Plan?” Chief asked out loud, raising an eyebrow. “Don’t worry, father. I have everything orchestrated. I just need a little cooperation to make it happen.” Chief growled.‘As if.’ “Now I know what you may be thinking. ‘I would never stoop so low as to aid my own flesh and blood.’” The speaker himself, for that line, made an attempt to mimic his voice. Chief pondered throwing the lamppost again. “For this occasion, I have whipped up a rebuttal.” ‘Oh boy, here it comes.’ “Do you really think you can stop me?” Chief’s blood ran cold at that statement. He'd been expecting a long winded speech not that. “Sincerely, your hated son, Destro.” The speaker’s voice returned to normal. “End of message.” Chief was silent for a moment. The message played out in his mind over and over as he pondered what he should do. Should he try and trick his son? Should he send some ponies to stall or, dare he say, kill the other organization’s sent members? “Tip please.” The strange stallion said, breaking Chief’s train of thought. A thrown lamppost was the tip he received. _______________________________________________________________ Miss Lead pressed her ear firmly onto the door. She could hear the faint sound of something crashing to the floor, shortly followed by the sound of somepony performing a teleportation spell. She smiled wickedly. “Oh this is just getting better and better.” She giggled, prancing in place. ‘This is just perfect. Destro! The Destro, coming here. Oh, with his help, I am sure my brothers and sisters will soon gorge their hearts out.’ Just as she was about to trot away, two firm hooves spun her around and tilted her over. A pair of moist lips met her own and a squeal of both surprise and pleasure left her mouth and into her intruders. The kiss was short lived, to her disappointment. The disguised Pegasus mare looked up into the eyes of her current food source. “Spray-on,” She griped. “What was that for?” “I couldn’t resist.” Spray-On said, looking into her lovely eyes. The changeling could feel the love pour out of him and into her. Granted, quite a bit of it was lust, but beggars can’t be choosers. “You were just so adorable, what with you sneaking around, and with you jumping up and down in glee, shaking that oh so luscious plot of yours.” One of his hooves slid down her body and gently rubbed around her false cutie mark. Miss Lead couldn’t help but blush. “Spray-On! Not here.” She glanced around, seeing a few ponies stopped to stare at them. Spray-On lifted her back onto her hooves. “Sorry about that. But, hey, what can I do. It’s not my fault I bagged Equestria’s hottest mare.” He levitated a mirror out from the saddlebags he was carrying and looked at his reflection. “Oh wait it is.” Miss Lead rolled her eyes. ‘He so full of himself. As if I ever would fall for that self-absorbed, idiotic but loveable, not so handsome but more on the cute side…what was I trying to make a point about?’ “So, what brings you here?” Spray-On asked. “I work here.” Miss Lead answered. ‘Idiot.’ “Right.” Spray-On rubbed the back of his head, nervously. “Well, I’m glad I bumped into you. I just got off work, so I think I’d like to finish that picnic we started.” “No disruptions?” Miss Lead asked. Spray-On nuzzled her. “No disruptions.” ‘He might be an idiot, but he’s my idiot.’ Miss Lead smiled. ______________________________________________________________ “The circus ponies are coming.” Pinkie yelled, running through town. “The circus ponies are coming.” The pink pony ran by the easily scared flower mares. “Should we run for our lives?” Daisy asked. “Nah,” Roseluck shook her head. “I’m too tired to be scared. Besides, don’t you have certain stallion you to meet?” Daisy blushed, to which Roseluck giggled. Lily frowned. “I wish I had a special somepony.” “Give it time.” Roseluck patted her back. Pinkie finally reached the library and burst in through the doors. “The circus ponies are coming.” “HOORAY!” Surprise and the Box Ghost cheered. “Sorry Boxxy, you can’t come.” Pinkie frowned. “Some of the new ponies might get all scared by you.” “Awww.” The Box Ghost put his head down on the counter. “But don’t worry,” Surprise said. “You can join in on the party.” Box Ghost smiled. Twilight gasped. “Oh, my goodness. I thought they were coming in a couple of days. I’m so underprepared. The town looks like a mess, these new ponies are running amock, the Princess is going to hate me.” “Don’t be gettin’ yourself all worked up about this.” Applejack said. “I’m sure these new ponies will love Ponyville.” “Who wouldn’t?” Rainbow Dash said. “I mean, this is the most awesome town in all of Equestria.” “Well, there are the constant monster attacks.” Pokey Pierce added. “Eh, they aren’t so tough.” Dash smirked. “One good buck and they’re running with their tails between their legs.” She laughed. “If only it was that easy.” Pokey sighed. “Come on, everypony.” Twilight Sparkle walked over to the front door. “Let’s make them feel at home.” The group walked outside, to see the caravan start to arrive. One of the first ones to arrive, was a large carriage. And out stepped none other than the notorious Minotaur. “Iron Will is glad to be in Ponyville once again.” Pinkie gasped. “It’s the monster.” She ran back inside, before coming out and in front of him with a cupcake. “Iron Will thanks you.” He smiled and picked it up. Pinkie smiled, before screaming in fright and running back inside. The minotaur found this odd and sent a questioning glance over to Twilight. Twilight shrugged and pretty much, through her body language, said ‘don’t question it’. Once he took a bite. “This is delicious. I could use some of these on my travels. Do you think you can make some to go?” “Okey, dokey, Loki.” Pinkie smiled, popping her head from out of the door. ___________________________________________________________________ In the distance, inside a crumbling floating castle that pony kind had long forgotten about, a lone alicorn raised his head. His light green skin was held tightly to his body, so his bones could be seen. His black mane was disheveled and his eyes glazed over. “Did someone say my name?” He looked around, a small glimmer of hope. But instead, all he saw was the dismal darkness that was his home. He sighed. “It’s just you and me.” He laid back down, next to the statue of his sister, Eris. “As always.” ________________________________________________________________ Pinkie frowned. She felt a tad bit sad. ‘Maybe I ate a bad cupcake or something. Those sandwiches did look kind of odd.’ She shook her head. “That’s great.” Iron Will said. “And make sure to go to my seminar ‘No means No’.” “Well, I have a few things to do today, so I might not…” Twilight started. “If you try and plant your face in a book, it won’t get you off the hook.” Iron Will cast a glare her way. Twilight gulped. “I’ll be there.” He smiled. “Great.” He went back inside and yelled to his goat minions. “Onward to Fluttershy’s house.” He traveled forth, but came right back. “Umm, where does she live?” “Why do you want to know?” Pinkie eyed him. Yes, she knew he was a nice guy, but she was still hesitant to allow him anywhere near Fluttershy again. “I want to thank her.” Iron Will stated. “She gave me a lot to think about and it’s improved my business tenfold.” “Well, then.” Pinkie smiled. “She lives right by the Everfree forest in a small cottage. Can’t miss it.” “Thank you.” Iron Will said. “SURPRISE!” A voice yelled, before a small, tan, brown maned, Earth pony tackled the white mare. “Italy.” Surprise hugged the little pony. “Oh, I missed you so much.” “I missed you to, big sister.” Italy smiled, hugging her back. “Awww!” Everypony else said, except Iron Will, who was too manly, or minotaurly, to openily ‘daww’ over anything. He opted for the more inward approach. “Iron Will thinks that it’s time to leave.” He went back inside his carriage and took off. The two ponies stood up, after finishing their hug. “Guys, this is Italy, the bestest little brother in the world.” Surprise said, nuzzling him. He started to giggle. “Oh my goodness, he’s so cute.” Pinkie rubbed his mane. She looked to his flank, to which stood a bowl of pasta. “And you even have a cutie mark.” “Impressive.” Twilight stated. “Most colts and fillies don’t get their cutie mark until their older.” “That’s because he’s special.” Surprise said, ruffling his mane. “Yup, I’m special.” Italy said. “And so cute.” Pinkie hugged him. “How did you find us?” Surprise asked. “This nice stallion told us about the Sugar Cube Corner.” Italy answered. “And what was his name.” Surprise asked. “Henry Stillman, I think.” Italy said. Rainbow Dash froze up. “Is something wrong, Dash?” Twilight said. “Was he light blue with a brown mane and had a cutie mark like one of those things announcers talk into?” She asked. “You mean a microphone.” Twilight said. “Yeah, that.” Rainbow Dash said. Italy nodded. “And he was with a nice mare.” He then pulled out a lollipop from…somewhere. “She gave me this.” He started licking it. “Wasn’t that nice of her.” Surprise said. “Blue mane, pink fur, and has two blue lightning bolts as cutie marks.” Dash said, starting to sweat. Italy nodded once more, still licking his candy. “Ya sure know a lot about these two ponies, Rainbow.” Applejack eyed her suspiciously. “Is there something ya aint tellin’ us?” “No!” Rainbow Dash said, before lowering her head. “Yes.” “Then, mind tellin’ us who they are.” Applejack said. “They’re my parents.” Rainbow Dash admitted. “Parents?” The other element said in unison. “Why didn’t you mention them earlier?” Twilight said. “Why didn’t you mention you had a brother?” Rainbow Dash quipped. “Touché.” Twilight looked away. “But why are ya so nervous?” Applejack asked. “I know for sure I’d be happy to see family of mine come to town.” “I just haven’t…seen them in a while.” Rainbow Dash said. “I’m nervous they might think I’m a failure.” “Why would they think you’re a failure?” Twilight asked. “Isn’t it obvious?” Rainbow Dash said. “I haven’t got into the Wonderbolts yet.” “Are you still on about that?” Applejack sighed. “Yes, I’m still on about that.” Rainbow huffed in agitation. “My mom was even younger than me when she joined.” “Well, you still have a lot of time to do so.” Twilight said. “I mean, you saved their lives and helped defeat great beings of evil. I think that’s an accomplishment.” “And you’ve got us.” Pinkie chipped in. “I know,” Dash said. “And also, could you not use the word ‘chimera’ around dad.” “Why not?” Twilight asked. “He gets all upset when he hears that word.” Rainbow Dash explained. “One time, he stayed in his room for a week, whimpering non-stop when someone started a conversation about a few chimera attacking this one village.” “We promise we won’t talk about anythin’ like that in front of him.” Applejack said. Pinkie and Surprise proceeded to zip their mouths up, to which Italy giggled. Rainbow Dash smiled. “Thanks guys. It means a lot.” “My you’ve grown.” A mare’s voice said behind her. Dash’s eyes widened and she turned around. Right there, stood her parents. Both pegasi were smiling at her. “Mom. Dad.” She rushed up and hugged them. “It’s nice to see you too.” Henry chuckled. “Your mom is the Firefly.” Twilight said, with awe. Rainbow let go of her parents and smirked. “Yup. She holds the record of the youngest mare to ever get into the Wonderbolts.” “Please,” Firefly swiped a hoof in the air, blushing slightly. “That was so long ago. I’m sure my daughter hold’s much grander records by now.” Dash rubbed her hoof against her chest, smiling. “Of course.” “Sorry we couldn’t warn you we were coming.” Henry said. “We got tied up in our work.” “No problem.” Dash beamed. “As long as you’re here, I’m happy.” ________________________________________________________________ Inside her house, looking down from the second floor, the local DJ, Vinyl Scratch, sighed. Her trademark glasses were off, currently residing on the stand next to her bed. ‘So many cool ponies in town and not one of them even worth talking too.’ She’d been hoping that some of her old friends, or at least some cool foreigners would show up, but for right now, none of them where interesting. That was until she spied one unicorn talking to Berry Punch. He was tall, but lanky. His blue mane, green eyes, white coat, and a cutie mark that looked like a piece of paper scribbled on, with a smiley face, gave him away instantly. A large, black saddlebag adorned his back. “Umm, excuse me.” He said. His voice was trembling a bit. “I would like to know if you knew where Vinyl Scratch lives?” He was blushing slightly. The DJ rolled her eyes. “Hey, blockhead.” Vinyl called. The stallion looked over at her, waving at him. “Over here.” He smiled and ran to the front door. Vinyl giddily ran down the stairs and up to front door and opened it. “Hey, Vinyl.” “Hi, Evo.” Vinyl said. “Got lost again?” Evowizard frowned and lowered his head. “Yes.” Vinyl chuckled. Her older brother had a terrible sense of direction. Once, he’d gotten lost for two hours, only to be found by their father, who showed him that he’d been passing the house several times. She never let him live that down. “You never change.” The unicorn chuckled. “Yeah,” He said. “Hug?” Vinyl smirked. “How about no?” “Aww, come on.” The stallion said. “You never let me hug you.” “That’s not true.” Vinyl held back a series of giggles. “Okay yes, but still.” Evowizard frowned, but quickly smiled. “Anyways, how’s my little sister been doing?” “Oh, you know.” Vinyl said. “Throwing wicked parties and stuff.” “I never understood how you can stand those places.” Evowizard said, shaking his head slightly. “They’re load, crazy, and all types of ponies go there.” “Evo, chill.” Vinyl punched his shoulder lightly. Her older brother was always trying to look out for her, even when she didn’t need it. ‘Which is like most of the time.’ “Stuff like that rarely happens and when it does, I can handle myself. You saw me beat up those two stallions, remember.” “Yes.” He looked away shyly. Of course, the whole reason she beat them up, was because they were harassing him. He severely scolded himself afterwards, because of it. “Could we talk about something else?” “Alright.” Vinyl walked into the kitchen and he followed. “So, what are you doing in Ponyville? Hoping to pick up a hot mare?” Evowizard blushed. “No.” Vinyl chuckled. “I thought now was as good time as any to try and sell some of my works.” Her brother was a writer and, at least she thought, a darn good one. Of course, his books hadn’t gotten much attention, and from his letters, he wasn’t doing so well at the moment. “You know, if it doesn’t work out, you could always stay here for a bit.” She offered. “Nah, it’ll work out.” Evowizard beamed. “I mean, I’ve generally gotten positive reviews on ‘Universe Wars’.” “Yeah, by three ponies.” “And a griffon.” Evowizard put in. “You know how hard it is to please them.” Vinyl started to chuckle again. “Why must you take everything I say, and put it into a different context?” “Because it’s funny.” Vinyl laughed. “I mean, the look on your face is so worth it.” Evowizard groaned. “Vinyl, is somepony here?” A refined voice called out. “Oh it’s just my bro, Octi.” The DJ called back. A grey mare walked into the room. “Evowizard!” She smiled brightly. “It’s been far too long.” “Octavia?” Evowizard’s eyes widened a bit. “Why are you here? I thought you were living in Canterlot.” “And miss one of Equestria largest fair, I think not.” Octavia said. “Anyways, what brings you into town.” Evowizard opened his mouth to answer, when Vinyl spoke for him. “He’s looking a hot lay.” Evowizard blushed. “Vinyl!” He exclaimed. “What, it’s true.” Vinyl said. “Vinyl, he just got here and you’re already making him uncomfortable.” Octavia scolded her friend. “She’s good at that.” Evowizard stated, to which his little sister giggled. “Anyways,” He levitated a book from out of his saddle. “I was hoping to make some sales. Getting the Wonderbolts to buy and autograph my book would undoubtedly boost my sales.” “Why didn’t you just ask dad to help?” Vinyl asked. “Well,” Evowizard rubbed the back of his head, laughing nervously. “I might or might not have failed a few endeavors dad assigned to me.” “Oh, trying to go out alone and prove to the old man you can make it.” Vinyl punched him in the shoulder. “You’re finally growing a back-bone.” “But I think I might be losing a shoulder.” Evowizard rubbed his accosted shoulder. Octavia chuckled. “Well, you’re welcome to stay here for a while.” “A while?” Vinyl punched his shoulder again. “He can stay here as long as he likes. We’ve got a lot of catching up to do.” __________________________________________________________________ Thunderlane groaned as Rarity used him as a living model for a new suit she was making. “And done.” She said, stitching the last stitch. “Now, don’t you look handsome.” The suit was a sparkling dark red, trimmed with gold. “I’d feel handsome if I wasn’t in this ridiculous monkey suit.” Thunderlane complained. Rarity gasped. “Monkey suit? Now, see here. I put a lot of time and effort into that suit, so the least you could do is withhold such slander.” Thunderlane just looked away. She sighed. Dealing with him was very difficult, since he hated to be anywhere near what he called ‘girly’ stuff. Of course, the twins were most helpful. She looked over to see them with that goofy look on their faces. She giggled. ‘Looks like love is in the air.’ She made a mental note to help them with that. The matters of the heart were her specialty. Just then, the doorbell rang. “Coming.” She walked over and opened it. “Welcome to the…” She didn’t complete her sentence when she saw who it was. She gasped. “England. France.” Right before her, were two stallions. England was light brown, with a blond mane and blue eyes. His cutie mark was a spell book. While the other, France, was peach colored, blond mane, and had a spindle and needle for a cutie mark. “It’s certainly a pleasure to see you again, Rarity.” England said, smiling at her. “Yes, it certainly is.” France said. “Where are my manner, come in.” Rarity insisted. The two stallions bowed their heads. “Why, I haven’t seen you two in years. How have you been?” “Rather excellent, if I say so myself.” England said with pride. “I’ve taken quite a few strides forward in my line of work. In total, I’ve been able to create several new spells to help out the construction industry.” “My sounds fascinating.” Rarity said. France yawned. “Yes, fascinating.” England glared at him. “Oh, like making dresses is any better.” He caught Rarity’s glare and smiled apologetically. “Sorry.” Rarity harrumphed. “I see your ways with the mares hasn’t changed one bit.” France smirked. “Oh, like you’ve gotten any tale.” England said. “If I didn’t know any better, I’d have mistaken you for a mare.” France laughed. “At least I know how to look good. Your mane is a mess.” “My mane is just fine, thank you very much.” England growled. “Boys, boys.” Rarity got in between them. “I will not have you tarnish this reunion with your constant bickering.” The two stallions shared a look. “Fine.” Rarity sighed. Those two could never stop fighting. She wondered if they enjoyed it. “Now, if you excuse me. I have to help Thunderlane out of his tuxedo, before he shreds it.” She walked off. “She’s more beautiful than I remember.” France said. “You’re right about that.” England said. “I wonder if she’s single.” France pondered. “Like you care.” England shot him a glare. France chuckled. “Still peeved I stole your marefriend.” “No, I’m peeved you stole five of them.” England scowled. “I can’t help it if the mare’s like me over you.” France said. “No, you can’t help but be an insensitive prick.” England jabbed a hoof into his chest. “Do no touch me with those dirty hooves.” France backed away. “I can touch you as much as I like.” England said, stomped a hoof to the ground. “And for Celestia’s sake, don’t try anything with Rarity. She’s my friend.” “She’s my friend too, you know.” France said. “If that’s true, I think we should put aside our differences for a while.” England held out a hoof. “Truce.” “Truce.” France grabbed it and shook. “I think Rarity will thank us with this.” “No, she’ll be thanking me.” England said. “Why should she be thank you and not me?” France asked. “Because this was my idea and you’re too busy staring at her backside.” France gasped. “I am a gentlestallion. I would never do such a thing.” England laughed. “You’ve been looking for a chance to get her in bed since the day you met her.” “Well, so have you.” France smirked, when he saw England blush. “That’s it.” England said. “This is war.” He stormed off after Rarity “Ahh, it’s just like the good old days.” France chuckled, heading off after his friends. __________________________________________________________ Fluttershy laid down on her couch. The morning had been slow and the week had been rough for her, since the animals seemed more spooked than usual. So, she thought she deserved a little rest. ‘I hope I’m not bothering any of my little animal friends because of it.’ Suddenly, she heard a knock at the door. Her ears perked up and she quickly trotted over. She hated to make anypony wait for long. When she opened the door, she was met by the image of a large, imposing Pegasus stallion, wearing heavy brown armor and a horned helmet. Usually, she’d be screaming about now, but instead she smiled and hugged him. “Daddy!” The stallion, Storm Cloud, hugged her back. He laughed. “It’s good to see you too, Fluttershy.” He pulled away. “I’ve heard so many things about you since I’ve been gone.” “Were they nice things?” Fluttershy asked. She didn’t want to disappoint her father. “Of course.” He said, to which made Fluttershy smile widely. “What with you defeating a dragon, Nightmare Moon, and that vile Discord, you’re a regular adventurer , just like your ol’ stallion.” Storm Cloud took off his helmet and wiped away a tear. “Look at you. All grown up.” “Don’t cry.” Fluttershy nuzzled underneath chin. “I’m still your little filly.” “That’s true.” Storm Cloud said. “And might I say, you’ve made me proud. But enough of that, let’s get inside. This armor of mine is chafing. Those griffon blacksmiths of over east couldn’t make a decent armor to save their lives.” Just then, a little rabbit bounced up to him. “And who’s this little creature?” “Oh, he’s my friend.” Fluttershy said. “Angel, this is my father, Storm Cloud.” “Nice to meet you Angel.” Storm Cloud offered a hoof to the bunny. Angel glared at him and hopped off. “I’m sorry, he’s usually much nicer.” Fluttershy apologized for the rabbit’s attitude. “No worries.” Storm Cloud said, as he entered. “I’m sure he won’t be much of a problem.” He absentmindedly looked around, sitting on the floor. “Uh daddy, wouldn’t you rather sit on the couch.” Fluttershy asked. “No my dear little one, I’m afraid your couch wouldn’t support me.” Storm Cloud said, whilst taking off his armor. “Your old man isn’t as light as he used to be.” “Daddy you aren’t fat.” Fluttershy said. Storm Cloud chuckled. “No my dear. Your old man just gained a little muscle over the year, that’s all. The griffons have been giving me a lot of work to do, what with their constant incursions.” “Incursions?” Fluttershy trembled a bit. She heard quite a few stories about Griffon incursion, mostly from her father’s own experiences. None of them had happy endings. Of course, none of her father’s stories usually were happy at all, since they were all about killing. But he liked to think she loved her stories, so she kept quiet about it. Storm Cloud nodded. “Their getting bolder. Much bolder.” He was silent for a moment, before shaking his head. “But enough of that. How about a little tea?” “Oh, I would love some.” Fluttershy said. ______________________________________________________________ I own neither Resistance, or My Little Pony Friendship is Magic.
