Descent Into Birthright

Act One Intro

Myths and legends are often cornerstones of a society.
They strengthen the weak, giving them something to strive for,
they comfort the scared by explaining the world,
they give meaning to the religious by giving morals and guidance,
and they attract both good and evil on long term schemes for power.

By retracing the steps of a legend, ponies can learn to
become greater than that which they could dream,
or could be shattered either by the journey or their
inner selves as they learn new things about themselves.

Some return home changed, cleansed of their flaws,
and try to make the world a better place for ponykind.
Others lose all hope and throw caution to the winds,
their trial by fire leaving them a burnt mockery of life.

But what happens when a myth is proven to be false in some way,
or through research, examination, hypothesis and experience,
is shown as to have never happened at all?

What happens when, based in faith, tradition and story,
everything a society has built is dashed to pieces?
What happens when myth is smashed on the rocks of reality
through the experience of the myth transforming to truth?

If a society's myths could be wrong...
could their way of life also be wrong?
Might their ethics and morals be wrong?
... what else could possibly go wrong?

Sunkissed Amber and her new "friends" were about to find out.
