~~~ Last Time ~~~

The night before Solarium went to work on the present for Twilight. He'd bought all the other presents for his family and his friends. But for Twilight he was still working on the gift he had mentioned to Luna. He was almost done, he just needed to put the finishing touches on the gift. Soon he was done with the gift, had wrapped it up, and placed it with the other presents, then he went to bed.


~~~ The Next Day... ~~~


Luna, Solarium and Twilight were eating their breakfast, but soon one of the Castle staff approached Prince Solarium. "Your Majesty there is a crowd of mares at the front gate that wish to present you with Hearth's Warming presents. They are all refusing to go until they give them to you personally... Unlike the stallion's who brought gifts for Luna... They just gave them to the guards and left."


At hearing this Solarium, gave an annoyed expression. Sure, this didn't bother him before. But that was before he met Twilight and knew that she was the one. Because he knew that these gifts were meant to win him over. While Luna was thinking it was only one or two stallions who came and dropped off presents like last year. So she just let it slide. Besides, her brother normally shared the edible presents. At least after the guards made sure that none of them were poisonous or had love potion or any form of incantation.

Solarium was about to excuse himself from the table to go meet the mare's. He first looked towards Twilight, only to be shocked at what he saw. Then Luna, upon seeing Solarium’s shocked expression, looked towards Twilight to see what was causing it. Only to see that Twilight did not look all that pleased at hearing that mares were hitting on Solarium. In fact, at hearing this, she was absolutely livid. ‘She admitted it to herself.' Luna thought 'But she won't admit it to others that she has a major crush on Solarium...'

Twilight didn't know when or how, but Solarium’s small gestures during these past few months had caused the crush she had on Celestia to resurface. But this time the feelings felt stronger for some reason. She also knew that Solarium has mutual feelings towards her. But Twilight was not willing to admit her feelings out loud. Not even Luna could get her to spill her feelings towards Solarium at the moment. She especially did not want Solarium to know about her feelings towards him. Besides, she didn’t even belong in this timeframe, and needed to go back to her time. She could worry about her feelings towards her former mentor when she got back home. However, all this did not mean that she was able to keep it together when other mares tried to go and win Solarium over.

All the while, the two royal siblings were having different thoughts on Twilight's behavior. Solarium was, worried that something happened that upset Twilight and whether or not he did something wrong to cause her behavior. Meanwhile, Luna understood completely, Twilight was getting jealous. This also meant that Solarium's little gestures were winning her over. Which meant the two could end up being together sometime soon. Just then, the same staff member that spoke to Solarium before cleared his throat. "Your Majesty, it is probably a good idea to go and receive those present as soon as possible... Before the mare's start a riot at the front gate."


At hearing this Solarium turned back to the staff member that brought this up, and nodded his head. "You're right, I'll be heading there now. Forgive me, Luna, Twilight, but the sooner I take care of this, the better."


Solarium look back towards Twilight, only to see that she looked even more mad than she did a few seconds ago. This made him even more worried about her. However, before he could ask what was wrong Luna spoke. "Oh, don't worry about us dear brother, you go and take care of it. This happens every year with those same hundreds of single mares. Twilight and I'll do some girl bonding… or... or something. Now go, you don't want to keep them waiting do you?"


At hearing Luna’s speech Twilight got even angrier. Angry enough that the glass of water that she was levitating was boiling. Of further concern, tips of her mane and tail looked like they were going to burst into flames which made Solarium even more worried, Twilight’s response even started to make Luna a little bit worried. Because she just realized that even though. Twilight told her that her special talent was magic itself. She was starting to think that Twilight might just be a little bit more closely bonded to fire magic than the other elemental magics. Which Luna considered a bit ironic seeing as Solarium was bonded with solar magic… Which was a type of fire magic. It was interesting to know that the two had something in common. But at the same time she was, worried that, Twilight might set the mares on fire or something. Solarium didn't want leave Twilight like this. So he stood up and walked towards her, once he was next to her he sat down and gave her a wing hug. This caused Twilight to freeze on the spot, she even forgot to levitate the glass and Solarium had to get it before it crashed down onto the table. They stayed like this for a while, and during this time Twilight's mind was racing. She was thinking about how Solarium's hugs were a lot like Celestia's hugs back when she was a filly and even a full grown mare: Warm, safe, secure, loving, but yet it felt a little different as well. She couldn't place it. But something about Solarium hugs felt somewhat different in comparison to Celestia hugs, even though they were one and the same. During all this Twilight was calming down from her jealous rage and without even realizing it, began to lean into the hug. Solarium was relieved to see that Twilight was calming down, but when she began to lean towards him, his heart began to flutter. He liked the position that they were in and wished he had done something like this sooner and hoped that he could do this more often in the future. Luna, seeing this, was relieved not only because Twilight was calming down, but also due to the obvious signs that the two were falling for each other even more so than they were just a few moments ago. She couldn’t help but hear wedding bells in their near future. Twilight herself wished that they could stay like this for a very long time. But realized that Solarium had to go deal with those mares. "Um Solarium, don't you have royal duties to take care of?"


At hearing this Solarium was yet again reminded of what he needed to do. So, he nodded his head, separated himself from the mare next to him, and left.

Luna was not all that happy with the fact. That the touching moment had to end, and so soon in her opinion. But then she thought it was the perfect opportunity to see if she could get Twilight to admit her feelings towards her brother. So Luna cleared her throat. "Well, was it my imagination. Or were you getting jealous at those mare's for stealing my brother's attention?"


At hearing this Twilight, no longer looking towards the door, turned her head towards Luna and stammered, "What know not at all, I was, frustrated about…"


At that moment, Twilight had to think of an excuse before Luna could dig any deeper on the matter. Because even though Twilight hated to admit it, Luna was very good at getting info out of her. Just then she remembered that even though she already made Luna a Hearth's Warming present. She had no idea what to get Solarium or their parents or even Star Swirl for that matter. So she decided to bring that up, it didn’t hurt either that it would be a win-win: one, it would get Luna off her case on her feelings towards Solarium; two, it would help her find good presents for the four of them. "You see I already got your Hearth's Warming present taking care of. But I haven't come up with a single idea on what to get Starswirl, your parents, or even Solarium. Solarium even more so because you remember what I told you about the Solarium of my time. So what I would normally give him in my time wouldn't work in this time. So I'm completely lost on the matter, and hearing the fact that ponies are giving you and Solarium presents a whole week early, made even more frustrated."


Luna was at a loss for words since she couldn't tell whether Twilight was telling the truth or not. Even if it was the truth, she may be using it on as a cover. So she decided she would let go of the topic about Twilight and Solarium’s love life... For now at least and focus more at what Twilight said. Just then she realized that out of all the ponies she mentioned. Twilight had already taken care of her present. This made her curious about how well Twilight knew her and what she got. "I'm kind of surprised that you already took care of me and can't figure out what to get the others. Normally it's the other way around for other ponies. But I guess since you know my brother in a different way, I can see what you're getting at... So how about you and I go in the city and I'll help you look for a gift for each one of them would that help?"


Twilight smiled. She appreciated the offer that Luna gave to her. But also was relieved that the whole she loved Solarium topic was dropped for now, "I would appreciate that a lot. Thank you Luna."


And with that the two left the dining room and started heading off towards the city....
