''How long are we supposed to keep walking ?'' yelled Rarity exhausted.

''For as long as we need, Rarity, and besides, I'm not tired at all'' said Rainbow Dash.

''Yeah, it's easy when you have wings, I need to keep my hooves shiny and comfortable, and walking is the worst thing for them. ''

''Don't worry Rarity, I have an idea on how to make this travel even shorter.'' said Conscience while laughing a bit. ''By simply walking it would get us something like an hour to reach the area dedicated to Happiness, so we will use this instead.''
The group arrived at a blue entrance signal, where the words ''Hall of the Brain'' were written. Nearby there was a small microphone.

''What's this heck of a thing ?'' asked Applejack curiously.

''That's our means of transportation everybody. We'll travel by using the Stream of Consciousness.''

''Wait, isn't that a writing technique ?'' asked Twilight.

''I think so.'' said Conscience. ''This is where all the thoughts constantly flow towards the various areas of the brain. We usually travel there very quickly using electric impulses, think of it as our own personal magic of sort; but with you we will need a carriage. Fortunately we have several on stock for massive transportations of thoughts to a single place, so we will use them. See that microphone over there ? We can use that to specify where we need to go, watch.''

Conscience went closer to the microphone and spoke into it.

''A seven thoughts carriage directed to Joytropolis please.''
After that a strange electronic voice popped up from the microphone.

''That would be 200 selsils sweetie.''

''200 selsils ?! Last time I checked it was 100 ! Let's see what I got here ...''

''Sorry, I don't make the prices, but I may tell you a joke to cheer you up !''

''Ok, I got the 200 selsils, now can we ''

''No, wait.'' Interrupted Rainbow Dash. ''Make that joke !''

''How many gryphons does it take to screw a bulb ?

''How many ?'' asked Rainbow Dash.

''One, they're not that stupid, ha ha ha ha ha !''

''That's our Pinkie Pie.'' said Rainbow Dash laughing and shedding a pair of joyful tears.

''Ahem. As I was saying, here you go, 200 selsils.'' said Conscience.

''Okey Dokey Lokey, have a nice trip, see ya !'' exclaimed the electronic voice before turning off. 

Suddenly in front of the group appeared an electric blue carriage standing on a rail of the same color. There were exactly seven seats, one for each one of them.

''Come on, hop in, and don't be afraid of the electricity, it's a very small voltage. It may give you an itch the first time you sit, but you'll get used to it.'' 

As a matter of fact, Rarity and Fluttershy almost jumped out of their seats because of the slight electric shock they received, but they quickly sat again. 

''Applejack, you're not even breaking a sweat, how do you do that ?'' asked a rather impressed Twilight.

''Well, ya know, Ah received my fair share of shock working with the zap apples, so Ah'm used to electricity. Guess you could say Ah can ride the lightning, yeee haaaw.'' said Applejack.

The carriage started moving on the Stream of Consciousness at a surprisingly high speed, but everyone was pretty relaxed, as they did not need to walk a lot again, at least for a while.

''Conscience, can I ask you a question ?'' said Twilight.

''Ask away, I'm all hears.''

''What have you paid the carriage with exactly ?''

''Oh, guess I should have explained that. I used these.'' 

Conscience suddenly opened up her hoof to reveal two worm-like things. One was blue and the other golden, but both of them looked like they were made of steel, or some sort of metal like material.

''They are called selsils, they are the current monetary value in the brain. They are basically made of the same thing that ideas and dreams are made of, as they actually are, in a way, ideas that have yet to be thought. You can find them anywhere in the brain, so the outside bits here are practically useless.''

''I see, so for any purchase we might need to do inside...''

''Just find some selsils and buy what you need, yes. But you got to know where to find them. The Prefrontal Cortex is full of selsils because it's an area that is rich of ideas, but I don't know if the situation is any better in the other parts of the brain. Anyway, we have arrived. Welcome to Joytropolis everybody !''


The group arrived to a place that seemed exactly like a metropolis, a city full of colors with a bright sort of yellow sky. A lot of happy ponies were walking in the streets and each one of them greeted the group enthusiastically, as if they had always been there, while a joyful song played in the air, creating a much more comfortable atmosphere, making the simple act of being in that city feel like a wonderful experience. 

''Now that we're here, where shall we go to meet this so-called ''Happiness'' ?'' asked Princess Luna.

''We just need to go to the town hall.'' said Conscience.

''Well, then what are we waiting for ? Let's go !'' shouted Rainbow Dash.

After a few minutes of constant walking and a few questions to the locals, the group finally arrived at the town hall, a humble reconstruction of the Ponyville town hall, except this one was completely yellow. The group entered, and they found another Pinkie Pie sitting on a chair behind a desk, smiling.

''Good morning, Happiness'' said Conscience.

''Hi Conscience ! I'm sooooo happy to see you, it's been a while since you came here, and hi to you too my friends !'' said Happiness stretching her arms to perform a big group hug ''What brings you here ? You want to have a party ? I hope you want to throw a party, we'll have cake, confetti, fun, and have I mentioned cake ? It's gonna be tons of fun !''

''I'm honored Conscience, and I wish this visit could happen under better circumstances ... You see, there have been some serious issues outside with excessive amounts of fear that seriously endangered the ponies that are accompaning me. If the situation gets worse, the effects may have serious consequences on the whole system. I would never doubt the efficiency of your work, and I know you are one of the best Leader Thoughts when it comes to feelings in this brain, but I have to check the efficiency of everyone involved in the fear containment actions.''

''I never heard anything of these attacks, and they definitely don't come from me or my co-workers, and look at me. I wouldn't have any reason to create problems in the system with an attack like that. I mean, why would I do that, silly ?''

''I don't know, but I need to examine each and every option before coming to a logical solution and solve this problem.''

''That's to be expected from a smart guy like you, Conscience, but with me you just need to chill. I'm Happiness, my only goal is to make the system as happy as possible.''

''Look, I might take your word on that just because I know you, but still, I need to check the others as well. Do you think that maybe something is wrong in Gloomburg or in the Anger District ?''

''Well ... Lemme think ... Naaaaah ! Sadness and Rage usually don't have the will to do such a thing, and besides, they only pop out every now and then, they usually have their own grumpy things to do.''

''Yeah, but when they show up it usually has some pretty big consequences on the system !''

''Are you understanding anything of what they're saying, darling ?'' asked a perplexed Rarity to Twilight.

''More or less, let's see how the situation carries on.'' responded Twilight.

''Well then'' said Happiness ''why don't we investigate together, Conscience ?''

''What !?''

''Yeah, I'll accompany you to see Rage and Sadness, maybe we will find the solution to this peak-a-predicament !''

''Don't you have to stay here and work ?''

''Duh, that's why I have co-workers, silly ! It's an important mission anyway, we have to preserve the system, they'll understand.''

''Well if that's the case then we should be moving.'' said Princess Luna.

''We sure have to, come on let's go ! Listen outside, even the citizens are cheering for us !'' said Happiness.

''Wait, cheerings ?'' asked Twilight, carefully listening outside. ''Sounds more like screams to me.''

''Wait what !?'' said Conscience.


Suddenly the door of the town hall was opened violently by a paw; outside you could hear ponies run in fear and hiding in their houses. Now enterning the town hall was a purple reptile, similar to a giant bipedal lizard, with dark purple flames coming out of the crests on his back. Some kind of powerful, guitar-centered music was coming from somewhere, completely clashing with the atmosphere in that particular part of the brain.

''Oooh yeah, that's me jam !'' he said looking at the group. ''OI ! I'm lookin' for the one in charge here ! Are ya Happiness, chap ?'' he said pointing a menacing claw towards Conscience.

''She's not, I am !'' shouted Happiness, jumping towards the strange visitor. ''What's your name ?''

''Me name's not important, I'm on a special mission.''

''Uuuuh, what kind of mission ?''

''How do they say ? ... Oh yeah ! Golpe de Estado.''

He suddenly ran towards Happiness with his claws out, ready to attack her. Unfortunately for him, Rainbow Dash surprised him with a lightning-fast hoof right on his face, which made him back up considerately.

''I don't know who you are or what are you doing here. But nobody, and I mean nobody, attacks my friends. Ya got that in your stupid brain, creep ?'' said Rainbow Dash menacingly.

''Tsk, gotta hand it to ya, yer hit really hard. Almost made me lose a fang. I won't repeat the same mistake then.'' said the creature. ''Berzerk Fog.''

Suddenly a red and purple mist covered the room, making the simple act of seeing unbearable.

''Let's protect Happiness !'' said Twilight. ''Round her and stay ready, he will attack anytime now.''

As it was expected the creature appeared right out of nowhere and kicked Princess Luna loudly, sending her away from the group. Immediately Twilight created a magical barrier that protected the group from the in-coming, furious attacks of the beast, a constant flurry of punches that could have made the barrier crumble in a million pieces. 

''What do we do now !?'' asked loudly Applejack.

''We wait, I have a plan.'' responded Twilight.

The barrier kept resisting while the creature kept attacking, not considering that the fog he created was disappearing with time, until the area was clear.

''Princess Luna ! Hit him, just hit him as hard as you can !'' shouted Twilight.

Luna teleported right behind the creature, ready to hit him with the hoof.

''What now, yer buggers ?'' asked sarcastically the creature while preparing a poderous punch.

The punch and Luna's hoof clashed vigorously, and the two bounced away because of the force produced, but while Luna was able to recover and prepare an attack spell in mid-air, the purple reptile was left disoriented by the backlash produced. Twilight saw the opportunity for a strike, quickly moving away from the group and putting herself on the opposite side of Princess Luna, charging a magic beam. Luna shot her beam, hitting the target perfectly, followed by Twilight's beam; a huge explosion followed, with purple and blue fumes covering the area. The creature lied on the ground, defeated and exhausted, but apparently still conscious.

''Now you're going to tell us everthing about this ''mission'' you're a part of, alright ?'' asked Twilight.

''Tsk. As if I were the type of agent that tells everything, especially to you buggers.'' said the creature. ''There is nothing that will convince me to reveal anything I know, and besides, me purple arse will be kicked anyway from me boss, so that's the end of me line ! Hahahahahaha so much effort for discovering nothing in the end, uh buggers ?'' he said this as a black smoke was coming out of his body. ''Very well then, hello next day !''

Suddenly he turned into black smoke, and disappeared from the scene, nowhere to be found.


''Well... Everything now turned into something more complicated. Do you know what was that thing, Happiness ?'' asked Conscience.

''Nu-uh. I don't have a singe solitary clue.'' said Happiness with a smile.

''Well then ... Guess we should look for answers in other places, and I think I know where to look for them.''

''So what's our next objective ?'' asked Princess Luna.

''The Anger District. We're gonna pay a visit to Rage.''
