Harmony's Roots

(2)Stepford smiler no more

The summer sun has proven to be quite a hassle as the moments passed. Pinkamena had only walked for two days, and already she had grown tired of trotting. Since she never knew where she was in the first place, finding her hometown was practically improbable. She finally decided to rest in a town that seemed to be disconnected. Everypony with their groups; earth ponies in the south of the town, unicorns in the north east of the town facing the mountains, and the pegasi in what little left, the center to be left for all to mingle, buy, or gather for meetings. She had gathered from what she saw in the mountain, that this was the once famed town of Ponyville; acclaimed for their multi-cultured roots and interactions with the regal Canterlot. It was nicknamed the little sister of Canterlot.
She walked around in the center of town before finally coming into contact with somepony.
“Howdy, y’all ok there?”
A booming voice called from behind Pinkamena startling her half to death. Pinkamena turned to see if it was said to her, and to her delight it was.
“Yup, just looking around.” She replied growing giddy from the exchange of words, aside from Ärztin, she hadn’t spoken to anyone in a long while.
“Y'all don’t look like a local, are you new here?” she said approaching her, in that movement the pink mare noticed a little filly that shared some features.
“Yea, I just got here. I got lost on my way back to my hometown.” She watched as the filly trotted over holding out a hoof.
“I’m Apple Bloom, and this is my big sister Applejack!” Apple Bloom began before the elder of the two could. She was given a subtle look in response by the other before she allowed herself to speak on behalf.
“Pleased to meet you-“ she allowed herself to stretch her words a bit hoping the pink mare would complete her statement.
“Pinkamena Diane Pie,” she quickly put in, “and nice to meet you too Applejack and Applebloom.” She reached out her hoof and was quickly shaken by the other’s fierce shake that, despite it, felt like an approval rather than hurtful.
“You seem thin, why don’t ya come ‘round my home and eat,” Applejack said in a motherly tone. Of course, before Pinkamena could decline, her stomach jumped at the chance to make it known that she indeed was hungry. She nodded rather embarrassed for herself. “Good, we live further down south there,” she pointed with her hoof, “you’ll see it. It is a nice farm with a garland of apple trees. I’d take ya myself, but I have to take Apple Bloom here to her first day of class, and pick up a couple of things.” Pinkamena listened closely, nodding after every word. “Got it?” Applejack had asked wondering if the ditzy pony did get it.
“Got it, you live down south,” she pointed to the same direction Applejack had pointed, “it is a nice farm with lots of trees with apples. You need to take Apple Bloom to her school and-"
“We’re gonna be late Applejack.” The young filly whined to her elder sister. Applejack looked at her then at Pinkamena, biting her lip still worried for the other.
“All right, hold your hay. Here, in case you get hungry on your way.” She handed Pinkamena ten bits and was pulled along by Apple Bloom. “Alright see you later.” She called out before turning to give her sister attention.Pinkamena watched them leave until they were out of sight before she turned to find something to eat. She trotted about looking. She noticed how distant everypony was towards each other. She would find some unicorns talking to pegasi and ect, but it wasn’t very often.

They interacted then left.

Pinkamena didn’t like it, but what could she do?
That’s when she noticed some mare talking to another mare; they were both pegasi and looked different in both looks and how they display their personality through their stance and conversation. Nothing in particular could have caught anypony else’s attention, though one thing did for Pinkamena. The rainbow mane. The same pattern she remembers seeing in the rainbow in the sky. ‘It couldn’t have been a coincidence, right?’ She told herself as she approached the two.
“Hey!” Pinkamena said with a giant grin, almost pouncing to their side. The impression didn’t sit well with the other two and quickly their reactions were less than pleasing. The pink and yellow pegasis jumped behind the rainbow maned pony, who in turn took a defensive stance after letting out a surprised scream. “Oh, sorry, just wanted to say hi.”
“Some way,” the rainbow maned pony said rolling her ruby eyes. “Flutter-“ she looked behind her, only to realize the shy pony had ran off after jumping behind her, “shy… Great, you scared her off.” She began turning back to the pink pony. Pinkamena lowered her head a bit drooping her eyes a bit as she showed to the other she was sorry. “Wha- no no, don’t cry. Look, let’s just find her and fix this. She is always like that, don’t take it to heart.” The rainbow pony said trying to correct herself, feeling bad for making
“Really?” The pink mare questioned, fearing she may have lost possible friends.
“Yea, c’mon.” She said starting to walk.
“I’m Pinkamena by the way, Pinkamena Diane Pie.” She introduced herself skipping alongside the other.
“And I’m Rainbowdash, the fastest pegasis in all of equestria,” she said rather proudly. “Pinkamena huh; sounds a bit complicated, how ‘bout just Pinkie. Pinkie Pie.” She said with a sort of candid attitude that made Pinkamena wonder if she was always like this.
“Yea… Ok!” Pinkie pie said enjoying the ring to her name. Maybe she can do something about this town.

After making friends with Fluttershy, and apologizing for hours on end, Pinkie Pie continued to make friends. Throwing parties after achieving a new friend and everyone loved her parties. Though they still weren’t united. Unicorns often only talked to Unicorns, Pegasi with Pegasi, and Earth ponies with their own. Only coming together when Pinkie Pie threw a party.
But then a new friend came to town, and she knew that she was special.

“Hello, could you direct me to-“ a gasp escaped Pinkie Pie’s lips as she heard speak to her. She knew she was special, the final piece to bring together the whole town. Quickly without a final goodbye, Pinkie Pie rushed to gather the supplies to celebrate the new friend. The one that could bring together the town in perfect harmony.
