I stretched the next day and moved to check on Jexmas my nobody that was create during my first summon out of my world. I still hated the primordial super discord from emeralds world using chaos magic to disconnect my heart from my body. I didn't tell everyone that it was only due to that shadow charm that the Sombra of that world gave me that let me stay in my usual human and sometimes dragon forms but deep down I knew I was still a heartless in essence. Jexmas resembled Roxas just as I now resembled sora but the true difference was our eyes. Mine was my natural green while Jexmas has amber. He had become the guardian of our equestrian tree of harmony which I learned from my trip to Emerl's equestria was sentient and had its own mind. Also was where the keyhole to the heart of the world is but until the castle of friendship and tirek incident happens the keyhole won't reveal itself just yet.
"Can you feel it James?" asked my nobody frowning up at the sky.
"Yeah, feels like something is going to happen and we are going to be needed soon. That reminds me, we need to get some proper practice in you still need to get used to the keyblade Jex." I said summoning the keyblade I received from Harmony while Jex summoned his keyblade.
"Right so you remember what was revealed in 3d?" asked Jex as we spared.
"That you will eventually gain your own heart? Yeah I remember." I said blocking my brothers strike raid and sending one of my own.
"Aren't you worried James? I mean, you're still a heartless in body, it's only because of that charm that you’re not full heartless." said Jex with a monotone still coming to terms that he will eventually regain emotions.
"I’m not Jex, what worries me is that Sombra Emerl has at his world. Mephiles clearly has something over him to turn him into a gizoid" I said.
"I think that's enough sparring. By the way, Spike over heard the legend of the Wayfinder from Harmony while you were taking care of Super discord" said Jex, making me blink.
"Well that will be interesting." I said before I felt something approach and following the sensation I opened the portal to the hub outside the world that connected our equestria to the universes where my token appeared and standing looking at the station that acted as the nexus was someone I never met. And I was confused as to who it was.
His face was pale, with one eye missing, and the other bleeding and bloodshot. He wore a white trench coat, with two wings protruding from his back, one white, and the other black. He carried a white haired girl.
“- And that’s how Equestria was made to be boring…” The man said, before he noticed me, “Wow, a Kingdom Hearts Displaced, that’s new…” he said and I gave a WTF look at this.
"Are you going to stand there or are you going to enter the world I'm not sure how much safety that station has to the void." I said wondering if this guy took way too many hits to the head.
“Dad! Listen to the man! He looks like Sora!” The girl said.
The man laughed, “I know… Fine…” He clicked his fingers, and disappeared, and reappeared behind me. “There, ya happy buzzkill?” he said and I wondered why I seem to attract sarcastic displaced.
"Very. That station is reinforcing the connection between worlds. I had Jex here check to see why the station formed when I made my token. I'm James del light by the way and you two are?" I said deciding to be the host since they are visiting.
The man took a mock bow, “A pleasure. This,” he gestured towards the girl he held under his arm, who pulled herself out of his grip, “is Entropy, my daughter. And I’m Time Spinner.”
"Nice to meet you I guess. By your name your a time traveler and by the injuries you have you just came out of a war and decided to warn displaced about it so the war hasn't happened yet so by warning people you hope to change how the war went. Am I correct on that?" I asked putting my inner detective to the front.
He placed his hands behind his back, and leaned close to his daughter. “How correct is he?”
Entropy laughed, “Nineteen percent! He got that we’re time travellers, and that there’s a war, but nothing else!”
Time chuckled, “What Entropy’s… mostly right answer means is that I am a time traveller, but I didn’t get this injury from that war, I got it after Roach ripped it out and stabbed a knife into the socket! I don’t warn Displaced, I prep them for battle by telling them in advance so they can get ready for when it does happen. I don’t care which side wins, I’m rooting for whoever I own, and that’s the leaders of both side.”
Entropy cut in, “He really doesn’t like Roach.”
"Well not every guess I make hits their mark. Well guess I know what we are doing for the next while jex can you go get both Spike and Chrysalis plus our tokens we are going on a trip. Can you tell me which way to go to the world this war is? If I know my kingdom hearts info one of the sides is planning on destroying the multiverse and one of our jobs is keeping the balance between worlds." I said and to reinforce that I pointed at the station out of the world.
As jex ran off Time chuckled.
"Your one of those hero types aren't you" he asked.
"Guardian actually though I'm lucky the heartless are not appearing that much. They slipped into this universe during the bramble weed incident those roots that were draining the tree of harmony's magic weakened the protection it gave allowing them to slip through. Turns out the tree acts like the cornerstone of light." I said as Spike and Chrysalis arrived with Jex.
"We got the message so we are off to save the multiverse again? First Emerl now we are going to a new area when you said key bearers live a hectic life I didn't think it was like this." said Spike.
"Yep and as we learned when I get summoned everyone I can drive with comes with which is why I asked you to come with us Chrys." I said to the changeling queen.
“Wait, I didn’t say when, or what it’s about!” Time Spinner growled, “And the Multiverse isn’t in danger, just four universes! And it’s Displaced vs. Displaced!”
"Sorry but well you know what Xehanort pulled and the keyblade war those kinda leave me to thinking worst case scenario." I said with a sheepish expression.
Time face palmed, “My wife wasn’t as crazy as this… Anyway, there’s still four worlds in danger, I’d say that’s pretty bad.”
"Yeah not to mention I have to find the keyhole's to those worlds to make sure the heartless don't get to them as well so that's going to be a secondary goal while we are there when it starts." I said seriously.
Entropy belched loudly, “Sorry, I ate a cotton candy cloud a minute ago before we got here…” And it was then I saw her eyes. Yellow with red pupils, like Discord.
"Discord. guess today is when he decides to let loose some pent up chaos. Holy beast core I hope Fluttershy can handle doing damage control!" I said sharing a look with spike and chrysalis.
And Entropy was right there where cotton candy clouds floating about.
Time raised an eyebrow, “Discord’s still alive here? Wow, I forgot some Displaced keep him around. I got rid of three… Anyway, when the war starts, go meet Lee Connors the Venom, or Darth Folteren the Sith. First is who you wanna go to I guess, the other guys more grey…”
"Thanks for the info oh and before you go we can take care of those injuries you got. Can't do a thing for the missing eye but we can heal the other with a quick combined cure spell" I said as the three of us keyblade wielders summoned our keyblades and casted the spell. The bloodshot look faded as the eye healed and stopped bleeding as well as stopped the bleeding in the socket where Time lost his eye.
"Here this should help you avoid questions about the missing eye." I said pulling out a eyepatch and handed to him.
He pushed it away. “Thanks for the heal, but…” A red dot appeared deep where his eye should have been, “I like it this way. The bloodshot was for… weak moments over three thousand years, and no sleep in that time… Why are you being so nice? You don’t even know me.”
"You're currently guests here in our world and despite how I act I try to at least show good manners to others. Got to set an example right? And trust me I would rather not piss off any being with time powers. Other than that it's just how I was raised before being displaced. I still remember that so it's how I'm going to live. I'm just glad I have family again. Plus yeah you’re during the time before tirek here the girls just met daring do yesterday." I said.
“Oh! I love her books! I have all of them! And I mean all. Every alternate version, every side story, every…” He paused, then shivered, “Every fanfiction… I have all of them. When you’re a being like me, who has lived longer than any Displaced, you try and occupy your time…” Time Spinner said, and pulled out a golden locket.
"Yeah I know the feeling before I was displaced I was trying to find my place in the world and almost lived my dream of being an author when the merchant happened. Now the only family I got is Celestia and her family, jex and the friends I made here. I took up making key chains to pass the peaceful times when I can" I said summoning nocturne and looked at the Keychain hanging from it of my own creation.
X“... I only have Entropy…” Time said.
Entropy yawned, “I’m gonna go get something to drink…” And disappeared.
"Despite never being a father I can tell your kid is important never let her go but don't hang onto her too long she has to make her own decisions sooner or latter. We have to support family as best we can. Time just make sure she lives a good life. After this war, I honestly want to get to know you better. You're both welcome to visit if you need to. Your daughter reminds me of my twin sister back on earth personality wise at that age. Also hand Lee this so we can get to him once my token is activated it will link his equestria to the station hub out there and reinforce the connection between them." I said handing Time my kh2 summon charm token.
Time took it, “Thanks, and if I survive long enough, I’ll come here and tell you my real name… One question before I go: Was the Starswirl here Celestia’s sister?”
"Honestly I don't know. I first got here six months before nightmare moon first appeared in history. It's possible and might explain how cadence is my niece as last I recall Celestia never had kids and you remember what Luna had to endure. It was three months after my arrival did we beat Discord the first time. Spent most of the time stuck in a petra fiction spell nightmare put on me combined with a stop spell on myself. Next thing I knew I was released during twilight trying to restore the everfree castle a few weeks ago. That's the events I experienced." I said shrugging.
“Well… Ok. It isn’t often he is… I run across a few. He lived longer than ponies, I mean, he lived through the dark ages, before Equestria was founded, then he was around when Tirek, the Siren’s, and Discord.” Time chuckled nervously, “I’m really trying.”
Entropy reappeared, grinning like crazy. “I just saw this world's version of mom!”
Time groaned, “Ok, ok… I get it...”
"Now I'm curious just who is her mother?" I asked tilting my head.
“The only pony that can survive my randomness, Entropy’s, and her two sister…” He grinned, “The party planner herself.”
"Ah Pinkie I get it. Anyway the mane six and the cmc here have the potential to earn a keyblade spike here here was the first to awaken one. He took out a certain dragon boss from land of dragon during the process I honestly wouldn't mind having him watching my back in the war" I said and said drake looked bashful.
"I didn't really have much of of a choice then it was going to attack the dragon migration and was headed for ponyville. If it wasn't for flare I wouldn't have been reminded why I was fighting in the first place." said spike blushing and I chuckled.
"Plus you found your talent in being a metal worker and became the local blacksmith. You and Rarity spent nearly a month figuring out how to make keyblade armor which came in handy when traveling the void. Honestly Spike, you're definitely not one I want to get on their bad side. If I find a way to travel to the kingdom hearts world's we would be training at the Olympus Coliseum. But first we have to make sure this world stays safe in the meantime." I said, placing my hand hand on his shoulder.
"Plus you helped us create such a community of defenders against the heartless with those enchanted weapons and armor since we allied allied with every race that exists against the enemy. The place is still going to be standing when we get back." nodded Chrysalis with a rare smile.
"Okay I get it be more confident." said spike with a grin.
"Yep and trust me on this we are not going to let the heartless destroy our world just yet. We still have a long way to go. Plus we hold the advantage of knowing where the keyhole is but until tirek is taken care of we can't access it for now. And my nobody here is in full agreement here. We are a team and we work as one as the guardians of our home never forget that spike." I said and the four of us nodded.
Time Spinner had been looking inside the golden locket the whole, when they stopped talking, he closed it quickly. “Good for you. I’d help, but I’ve got my arms tied. Maybe one of my Displaced can help you, he’s a kingdom hearts character like yourself.”
"Just send his token when he's ready we will be okay for now here oh and next time you're by the tree of harmony of your world and time be sure to talk to it turns out out the tree is sentient as well. Though each one is different in personality. The one I met so far was partnered to a displaced of Emerl and she was a major gamer and anime troll. Not entirely sane as she was drawing more on laughter then the others. I learned ours was drawing more on loyalty then then the others." said Jexmas nodding to them.
“I… My world is gone… It was destroyed, along with everyone I loved…” Time said, rubbing the closed locket.
"And when I meet the you from this time period I will try not to tell him about his future self I know how much a paradox can be a pain in the neck." I said before bending down and handing Entropy a copy of my crown necklace only light blue in color.
"Just something something to remember us by, okay? And don't worry time even when their gone they still live on in your heart and soul. Especially your daughter. Her mother still lives on in her so be sure to cherish what time you had. After all Entropy here is your pinkie's daughter right and the child of laughter is your light in in the darkness never lose lose sight of her you hear. Don't be strangers maybe next time you can meet everyone when they get their keyblades" said james with a smile.
“I will, or my name isn’t Surging Storm!” Time said, before a vortex opened behind him, “See you at the war young one!”
He turned to me with a wide smile, “Cause it’s gonna be a doozy.”
And Entropy jumped in, screaming, “I’M A MOTHERBUCKING BABY COW!!!”
Time laughed, “Holy crap that was random!” He decided to follow her, “AND I’M A CUPCAKE!!! Your’s was funnier!” Followed by a Wilhelm scream.
Shaking my head I closed the portal with my keyblade and chuckled.
"Well I knew when I became a keyblader that my life was going to get crazy..." I said with a smile and we headed back to ponyville to talk talk to everyone about this new development. I just know that time spinner will be a great friend and from my own experiences I know that a friend can make a lot of difference.
