//------------------------------// // Camping trip // Story: Passionate Friendship of Lyra and Bon Bon // by GLaD for you //------------------------------// From the Journal of Sweetie "Bon Bon" Drops... We took a class field trip, camping at the Red Wood Forest Preserve. Friday was a long drive through the country as we make our way. Each morning was hot delicious campfire cooked food and each evening spent telling tales around the campfire. Saturday, the class visited the nearby Faust Amusement Park with the drive back to Canterlot High School Sunday morning. Lyra was my best friend by the 8th grade. She always looked like a loner sitting on the benches outside during recess before I met her. We sat near each other in class, and during lunch would often hang out in recess. Friday Evening: The whole class put up their sleeping tents and built a small fireplace. We toasted marshmellows, they were delicious and a bit gooey. Lyra and I ended up sharing the same tent. It was because we were good friends. The camp quickly became quiet as our classmates fell asleep. Lyra and I talked about the types of rides to experience tommorrow as we lay down in the tent. Soon we fell asleep. I felt a tug on my right arm. Being slightly annoyed at being woken up, I glanced down to see what it was. Shortly, I lost my reason to be upset. Lyra was shaking and holding onto my arm, lost to her dreams. Lyra muttered in her sleep, "I'll play the lyre if I want to...Twi-twi, dont go to Crystal Prep... Dad... why did you leave me?" I blushed and smiled to myself.. "Aww, you're lucky you're so cute..." I leaned over to Lyra, gave her a small hug. We cuddled and quickly fell back to sleep when Lyra calmed down. Saturday Morning: At the gate, the teacher reminded us keep in groups of two or more for safety purposes as we explored the amusement park. Lyra and I shared a look. We the raced to the "Tea cups" ride. She was there first so she went in with me on the outside. I blushed quite a bit when the spinning of the "Tea cups" force pushed her hips against mine. We split a ice cream cup, and sometimes Lyra would offer to feed me with her spoon. It was a delightful activity for best friends. As the sun was seting and the sky took on brilliant hues of orange, we decided to ride on the Ferris Wheel. During the Ferris Wheel I didn't pay attention to the landscape. How could I when I was admiring Lyra next to me? "Bonnie, what are you thinking about?" I glanced a few inches higher to her eyes and she's looking at me oddly. I wonder if she's worried. "Hmm, just today's adventure. I really enjoyed it." Smiling, I let her know things were fine. "Bonnie, I woke up slightly last night and felt you hugging me. I liked it and I felt safe." I reached over and hugged her, rubbing my cheek against hers. "Best Friends?" Lyra replied " Best Friends Forever." When it was time to go back to camp, we were walking with interlocking elbows. You can say we slept much better that night, and one day we would become room -mates. When we could guess what the other was thinking we would reply that we knew each other so well. I don't think there has been a closer pair of friends at Canterlot High School.
