The Sunset For Moonlit

Chapter 3: Vinyl's Eyes.

Vinyl had just woken up, on a Thursday morning, and once again Moon had gone before Vinyl even got a chance to do anything. She got up, and went to the kitchen where, as always, there was a sandwich waiting for her. She ate, grabbed her headphones, and walked to school. She got there just in time to see Moon , Do, and Rainbow, all talking about something. She joined in.
"What's up?" Do was still not used to hearing her voice, and she could tell. Rainbow replied.
"Turns out, Sunset is planning something. I cant' get either snips or snails to talk. Applebloom, Sweetie Belle, and Scootaloo are working on it. I doubt they'll get anything, though." Do finally decided to speak up.
"They might have anyone in on it. We don't even know who to bribe. I'll still be up there, but Rainbow has to watch her people. If the jocks get up there, not much I or anyone else can do. Be ready for anything up there, okay, Moon?"
"I got this. I still won school president in 5th grade even after they dumped mud on me on stage. Anyone who ran back there had to be able to deal with literally anything."
Vinyl's turn "You need music in the background?
"Whatever you can do that wont overpower my voice." They began their walk to the stage. On the way they saw Sunset's Crash-And-Burn smile. This can't go well.

It was speech time. The stage was hardwood, and red curtains. This would determine who got the crown tomorrow. Vinyl Lowered volume to near mute and laid down a simple bass line and a kick-drum beat with the electronic filter. Should suffice. All she had to do was wait for the speech. Then there it was.
"Hey, everyone. I'm here because someone has to overthrow Sunset, right? Okay, I know my parents are loud. I know they always fight."
What was she doing?! "Yes, I am from the worst part of this country. But, at least I care about people who deserve it." Vinyl by know was in the crowd. She noticed Rainbow just showing up, out of breath. She started giving the Cut signal, just in time too. Pig blood poured and splashed the middle of the stage. Where Moon would have been, had rainbow been any later. Moon couldn't resist the opportunity. She still had the mic.
"Looks like someone is despera-" There was a thunk of metal on bone. Whoever was up there threw a bloody cast-iron bucket with more speed than anything she'd ever seen. For a second, she just stood there stunned. Was Moon still alive? When moon hit the ground, it jogged Rainbow back to life. Which, in turn, revived Vinyl. They both sprinted to the stage. Rainbow, obviously getting there first, lifted her head to see if she was conscious. She wasn't. Vinyl felt her wrists, her heart was slowing. She looked up, no one there. Obviously not Do. Who did this?
She felt the slowing pulse come to a stop. At this point, Vinyl was tearing up. No one else could tell, due to her shades. Vinyl was finally going to move on. From Octavia. And Vinyl got her killed. She didn't even get to show Moon her eyes.

At the hospital, Vinyl could barely stand to see Moon like this. The one who Vinyl wanted so badly, used as a weapon against Sunset for revenge, The one who would still be here if Vinyl wasn't so obsessed with her from first sight. There was a slow heartbeat. The Doctors managed to revive her. They fixed what she broke. Vinyl decided that if moonlit made it through this, she didn't deserve to see her. Ever again.
