The night started to make itself more and more clear. The moon was shining as strong as sun, no pony could even directly look at it. Pinkie's party was going good. Everyone was dancing on the step floor. On a wall there was a huge writing... "Welcome back Fluttershy!" and it was written on a light blue banner. Spike finally achieved to arrive to the party, still he was so surprised how Twilight let him party. He knew that he had to have his baby sleep but it was so nice of Twilight to let him to attend to an important day like this. It was so hard for Spike to find his friends in this crowd but luckily he bumped to Pinkie Pie who was attacking to her grape punch. When she recognized him she hugged him and took him to rest of the crew. Everyone smiled at Spike when they saw him.
"Spike... I am so glad that you have arrived! It is more beautiful when we have you here!" said Fluttershy and hugged him. "I am heading to bar, do you want anything to eat, Spike?" she kindly asked.
Spike sat one of the empty chairs and he soon realized the chair was a little big for his size. "It is so good to see you all here, back together, safe and sound." Spike said. "I don't want anything..." he stopped and when Fluttershy was about to leave he asked "Do you have gems?".
Fluttershy smiled and said "Let me look." and slowly she entered inside to the crowd and headed to the bar.
Rainbow Dash was so bored. She was feeling dizzy because she ate too much. She was sitting and her haid was on the table. She was half asleep.
Applejack stood up and put Rainbow Dash on her back. "I think this sugar cube is no longer be available for party... I am going to bring her back to home. I need Cherry Berry's help for the hot air ballon though." she said. She put Rainbow Dash back to her seat and started to search for Cherry Berry. Rarity was bored too but those dresses of the visitors from Manehattan and Canterlot was impressing her. "So..." she said and looked at Spike. "Where is Twilight Spike?" she asked. Spike suddenly jumped up to his seat. His heart was beating faster. Rarity, her crush was talking to him.
"She must be still at... At the library..." he said.
Rarity looked down and made a sad face. "The party is almost over and she is not here. Great!" she continued.
Spike shrugged. "She was weird today. It still suprises me how I achieved to come here." Spike said. "I talked with her before coming here and she let me. And believe me, if I know Twilight, if she is still not here, she won't come. You know Twilight, she is not good with parties." Spike continued.
Rarity shrugged too. "I don't care, darling, this is not just a simple party, we are celebrating our friend's return. I don't think this is Twilight's style." she continued and suddenly saw Pinkie Pie coming.
"Where is Applejack and Rainbow Dash?" Pinkie Pie asked.
"They are gone, with Cherry Berry. To bring Rainbow Dash home." Rarity said.
"Where is Twilight? Is she not here because she did not like my party?" she asked and started to cry.
"There, there, of course not Pinkie Pie. Maybe she is busy." Fluttershy tolerated Pinkie Pie. "I think I am tired too... I need to head back to bed. Spike, I know you like parties but you are still a baby, you need to head back to bed too. If you want I can be a companion for you back to home." Fluttershy continued.
Spike got angry a little and said "I might be a baby, but I am also a knight! I am strong and brave, I can go by myself thanks!" he replied. Soon they all saw that the rain started outside and they all got seperate. Rarity was heading back to her home with Fluttershy and Spike had to leave party alone. Pinkie Pie could help him but she was a party mare so it was so hard for him to convince her so he decided to head back home , by himself. Suddenly rain started to make itself clearer and clearer. It had not rained like this in Ponyville before so everyone decided to return their home earlier because water could cause to block their way back to home. He started his way back to tree house. When the tree house appeared on the horizon. Spike noticed something when he got a little closer. The door was broken. Spike hesitated to go inside. Though he was a baby dragon, for his age he had been through a lot of problems. With little steps he decided to step in and he decided to check every room. He went to upstairs, Twilight's bed, library, kitchen but the house was empty. Only some of the books were on the ground but something was different. Claw marks on the bathroom door? "Well that was not here before." Spike said. Where was Twilight? He just thought maybe he did something wrong to let her go away... Maybe he was too impatient and did not wait Twilight to go to the party? Or maybe he made her upset by asking to go to the party... He did not know anything. He started to cry slowly and kicked wall. His foot hurt a bit and than with sadness, he decided to stay at Rarity's house. While walking, he passed through the party place and saw Pinkie Pie. She was still partying, but now just herself... When she saw Spike she invited him in but Spike told her what happened. After their talk, Pinkie Pie decided to go Rarity's house with Spike. When they were arrived, luckily, Rarity was not sleeping. After Rarity opened her door, and saw a pink pony and a little purple dragon, which were her friends she invited them in and asked what was going on.
"Rarity, Twilight is missing. I searched everywhere in home... I found nothing but some books on the floor and... Uhm..." said Spike and stopped.
"Some claw marks." Pinkie said and helped Spike.
Rarity gasped like she never did before. Her hooves were shaking... She walked to kitchen and grapped a glass of water and walked back to them. Her hooves were still shaking. She sat and started to look at the ceiling. Spike started to cry, and Pinkie Pie hugged Spike. Rarity stood up. "No!" she said. "This can't be true, can it be?" she continued and started to laugh and cry at the same time. "Maybe Spike was halusinating, or maybe Fluttershy did that before while we were in camp? Can't it be? Please say yes... Any of you?" Rarity asked.
Spike lowered his head and said "I am afraid you are wrong. When I was talking to Twilight, she was in the bathroom and the door was closed. So basically I was talking to the door and on that time there were no claw marks on the door. Which means..." Spike said and was interrupted by Rarity.
"Don't tell me Fluttershy is back to wolf again!" Rarity said.
"I think your library got attacked by timber wolves." Pinkie Pie said. "But also, Rarity's thought has a possibility to be true." she continued and nodded.
"There is one way to check it out..." Rarity said. "Pack your things up! We are going to Fluttershy's house!" said Rarity.
"What things?" Spike asked.
"I don't know... I just said to look cool! Do not question, now go go go! We have a pony to visit." said Rarity.
It was a little far from Rarity's house to Fluttershy's and they had to walk a lot. Spike was tired so he decided to sit on Pinkie Pie's back, and while they were walking Rarity was trying to think nothing bad and soon they passed Sweet Apple Acres, and they decided to tell it to Applejack because she needed to know this too. After Rarity told what happened to Applejack they all decided to visit Fluttershy.
"So you claim that, Fluttershy is back to Flutterwolf, sugarcubes?" asked Applejack, she was half-panicked.
"Nope." Pinkie Pie said. "That is Rarity's idea, my idea is that timber wolves attacked to their library." she continued. Applejack nodded.
"What is your idea Spike?" she asked.
"I don't know. The only thing that I hope right now, to see my friend safe. I just..." Spike was about to cry but he held himself. "I just hoped that, after all these things, it was finally over... Will it start again?" continued Spike.
"What will start again?" asked Applejack.
"The problems... It can be Rarity's or Pinkie's thought but I want none... Can't we just ignore all these?" Spike asked.
"You mean ignore the claw marks?" asked Rarity. "Sorry, darling but I can't. If it is still a problem, we need to fix it. Because if this thing will be dominant, I decided, I will move to Canterlot."
"WHAT?!" eveyone gasped and asked in a shocked way. Rarity shrugged.
"Safety is important, darlings." she said. "There it is, girls, and Spikey, we arrived." she said and with a little faster steps she arrived to Fluttershy's door and knocked it with her right hoof.
When she knocked the door opened itself. It was not closed at all. "Wow, she left her door open?" she asked. When her friends reached to her back they started to search the house. Spike headed upstairs with Rarity. They started to hear some voices.
"Oh stop Rainbow Dash..." someone said.
"Why would I?" the other asked.
"Are they...?" Spike was about to ask but instead he ate a hoof of Rarity right into his mouth and saw Rarity nodding.
"Eww..." Spike said. "They are snuggling. Love is so disgusting." he said.
"Really?" Rarity asked and came closer to Spike. "You think love is disgusting Spikey-Wikey?" she asked and blinked her eyes twice.
Spike stopped and fell in love with Rarity again. His eye-balls shape changed from round to heart. "How can I hate love, Rarity?" he said and when he got closer to kiss her, Rarity stepped back and Spike fell and screamed "Ouch!". With that scream the two other ponies came from the room.
"Rarity? Spike? How did you get in?" Fluttershy asked.
"You left the door open Fluttershy, come down stairs." Rarity said. "We have a problem to talk."
"Wait, wait, wait... Am I clear that you definetly sure that Twilight is missing? Maybe Princess Celestia called her for mission?" Rainbow Dash asked.
"She would tell me than..." Spike said. "Even if she did not, how can you explain claw marks and my broken door?"
"Are we sure, those claws belong to a wolf? Maybe it is a raccoon... Girls, I understand, it had been though for us, and we never slept well after these events but I think this 'Flutter-wolf' issue affected you a lot." Rainbow Dash said.
"No... Raccoons do not have big hands." said Spike. "We need to find Twilight. I already sent a letter to Princess Celestia while we were on the road..."
"You did?" asked Pinkie Pie.
"Yes, while I was sitting on your back. Anyway, Twilight is missing. Raccoon , wolf, claw, broken door or not, we need to find her. Why would she miss 'Fluttershy's Welcome Back Party'?" Spike asked.
Pinkie Pie nodded. "It made me so upset, I thought Twilight ditched me but I never thought something could happen to her... If it is true, if Twilight is danger and we are just right here sitting, and discussing, I won't forgive myself. So I am leaving to search for Twilight." she said.
"I am coming with you too, darling." said Rarity.
"Count me in, sugarcubes." said Applejack and when all of them decided to leave. When they were about to leave the cottage they heard a sound. A sound that was familiar to them before... A sound maybe some of them will never forget. A sound that caused tragedy, fear, blood, wounds and even death.
Spike was shaking and he started to hug Rarity. "Wa-was th-that a-a how-howl?" Spike asked and was barely trying to move his mouth while speaking.
"Does this mean...?" Fluttershy asked but Rarity interrupted.
"Yes." Rarity said. "Prepare for the second wolf hunt Ponyville."
