//------------------------------// // Aftermath // Story: Pinkie and the Party Killer // by WishSeeker //------------------------------// Twilight felt bad, worse than bad. She drove a wedge between her friends and she knew it would happen. Why did she choose Pinkie of anypony who could plan the party. After that day Pinkie went into solitude. The others were angry at Twilight too but the trust she betrayed between her and Pinkie was damaging and painful to both ponies. Twilight didn't know what to say to her friend or how to explain why she did it. Twilight never wanted to be better than anypony, she accepted the responsibility of being a princess but she still hated it. So why would she want a party celebrating the day she became an alicorn, the thing that stops her going anywhere without somepony staring. The thing that makes everypony treat her like a piece of art and not a person. So she destroyed the flowers, stole Pinkie's plan and everything else, it was the only thing she could do. A knock came at her bedroom door, "Twilight, come on, you got to let me in!" Twilight's horn glowed and the door opened for Spike. Twilights face was buried in a pillow, "What is it Spike, I don't feel like talking or eating, why did I even let you in." "Because I'm your faithful assistant, now look Twi, if there's anything you have taught me about friendship it's that friends always help each other, no matter what." Twilight's ears perked up but her face dug deeper into the pillow, "Yeah so, even if I could think of what to say to Pinkie she wouldn't let me in, I hurt her and made her hurt our friends." "Ok, number one you can teleport, number two you're still Pinkie's friend, remember when you first met her in Ponyville, she even threw you a welcome to Ponyville party. She needs you to redeem yourself." Lifting her face from her pillow , "You know what Spike, you're right!" "I am" Spike filled himself with pride "Yes, this is why you will always be my friend and assistant you're always there for me, and now I need to be there for Pinkie." It was at that point Twilight dashed out of the castle with one pony in mind, Pinkie. The next day Twilight arrived at Pinkie's, when Twilight's eyes saw Pinkie's home she realised what she'd find on the inside, stories from Rainbow might have been exaggerated but this was going to be ugly. It looked like an abandoned old building, which is strange considering she's only been upset for two days. Twilight's horn began to glow again and then poof. She was on the other side of Pinkie's door. The room was somehow filled with dust and cobwebs, Pinkie Pie logic. The house was dark and quiet, a strange conversation broke the silence. "I agree, how could you be friends with someone like that?" The voice was deep but didn't sound real. "She ruined your life, your friendships." The second voice came with a Manehattan accent, Twilight was unsure who was talking. " I'll never speak to her again, at least you all listen to me." It was Pinkie's voice, the voices were all coming from upstairs, Twilight followed the voices to Pinkie's bedroom door. "Pinkie please let me in," Twilight pleaded, "I only want to talk." "She don't wanna talk, leave the lady alone!" The Manehattan voice was weirdly similar to Pinkie's. Twilight charged up the teleport spell. Poof, in a flash she was standing before a bucket of turnips and a pile of rocks. As her eyes met Pinkie's she saw a horrible sight; the pink ponies mane was straight, her eyes were small and seemed to be drawing away from each other. "Oh, hello Princess Twilight, what brings such an important, kind and selfless pony like you to my simple, pathetic, foolish old home." Pinkie's face was adorned with an unnatural smile. "Pinkie, I am sorry." Twilight couldn't find the words to say why. "Oh, it's ok I have new friends now, right Rocky." Pinkie shook the rocks as she spoke, "Yeah, she don't need pony princesses like yourself!" Twilight leapt in front of Pinkie then the room went bright, Pinkie couldn't see but she heard Twilight, "Snap out of it!" As her eyes readjusted Pinkie could see Twilight in front of her. "Twi, you're my friend, why did you do it?" Twilight finally found the words she needed, "I was being selfish, I didn't want to celebrate the day I became this." Her soul was pouring out before Pinkie Pie. "But why?" Pinkie pressed, " You're a princess and that's an amazing thing." "I never wanted to be better than anypony, I didn't ask to be Princess Twilight Sparkle." "But you're not Princess Twilight Sparkle to us, you will always be just our Twilight in our eyes. Just because other ponies think of you like a goddess and a celebrity, doesn't mean your friends aren't there for you, you're the princess of friendship you should know this." "I'm sorry, Pinkie." Tears filled Twilight's eyes as she realised just how much of a fool she had been. "It's alright, Twilight, we are still friends. I shouldn't have acted like that myself." Pinkie's hoof pulled her friend closer, she tried to comfort the sobbing Princess. Pinkie held Twilight in a comforting hug for almost ten minutes. As the tears came to a halt Twilight spoke up, "Pinkie, we better get ready." "For what?" She asked in response. "For the party." Twilight's eyes looking into Pinkie's, a slight smile growing on her face.
