//------------------------------// // Chapter 1 ; The DJ // Story: The Sunset For Moonlit // by AnonymousAlicorn //------------------------------// AUTHOR NOTE: Give it time and it will lead to Sunset and the Princess of the school campaign. Moonlit Prism was a transfer student from Detroit. She had Navy Blue hair, black tank top with a blue splatter pattern, dark blue jeans, and black and blue hi-top shoes. She'd just arrived in Canterlot High when she saw someone amazing. Her hair was beautiful! The blue bordered perfectly with the cyan and no matter the angle, it always somehow looked as if the cyan was always in the middle. The hair blended perfectly with the black headphones. She was leaning up against a locker, cycling through music on an IPod, and when she looked satisfied, she put it in her pocket and started walking off. Moonlit followed, and after a while they nearly went full circle, but the girl stopped and looked alarmed. she pulled out her IPod and it was dead. Moonlit, having remembered phone, realized that her charger might fit the girl's IPod. "Hey, did your Ipod die? She nodded. "You wanna try my charger? I'm not sure it will work, but its worth a shot."She nodded again. They went to the nearest outlet and plugged in the charger and it worked! "My names Moonlit, by the way." "Vinyl" She noticed the surrounding people's eyes widen and they start whispering to each other. Its as if something unheard of had just happened. then she realized they were all looking at her. Okay, what's going on? Vinyl walked away when it was charged and she was instantly crowded. "You got her to talk?!" "How did you do that?" "That's amazing!" Moonlit decided to just ask. "Whats going on?" "No one has ever heard her voice before. Not since that cellist moved and before that was in kindergarten when she had to introduce herself to the teacher" Said a relatively small boy with scissors on his shirt." Moonlit was surprised. Vinyl was normally mute? She apparently couldn't live without her music. Good to know. Later that day, She and Vinyl met up again, and Vinyl handed Moonlit her charger back. "It charged?" To Moonlit's surprise, Vinyl answered verbally. "Mostly. You get swarmed by people yet?" "Yeah. You don't talk much, do you?" "Nope. Not since 'Tavi moved. Not much before." This spiked Moonlit's interest. Who was Tavi? "If you don't mind me asking, who was Tavi?" Vinyl seemed to lock back up mostly after that. "Someone." Moonlit could take a hint. "Wanna meet back up sometime later? Maybe tonight?" Vinyl nodded and started writing something. "Hey, you live close?" "27845 Sugarcube Ln." Vinyl looked around at the crowd that was amazed to hear Vinyl's smooth voice. Moonlit got the note back saying 9pm tonight The Neon Lighter I'll pick you up It was Moonlit's turn to nod. That night, Once again, her parents were yelling and fighting, like always. Moon barely heard Vinyl knock and slipped out as quickly as she could, so as to not let Vinyl hear her parents. Vinyl heard, despite Moon's effort "Whats going on in there?" Vinyl inquired. "Same as every night. I have a tent and sleeping bag outback, believe it or not. I still don't get much sleep. I travel light because we get evicted from noise complaints WAY too often." "When were done with tonight you can stay at my place. If they don't care." "They shouldn't even notice i'm gone" Later at The Neon Lighter, Vinyl and Moon had just each ordered a drink, but neither planned on getting too drunk. She was glad that the drinking age in Equestria was 18. It just made things so much better. Moon started the conversation. "So, whats up?" "Just wanted to get comfortable for talking about stuff." Moon decided to hold off talking about Tavi "Why here?" "I DJ here if I have tomorrow off school. How was it where you came from?" "Detroit. Not easy to walk anywhere, in the part if town I lived in. I had to be tough just to survive. The only two things I could do is fight and mentally manipulate. I always did the latter if there was more than 1. How was it for you?" "Pretty good, actually. Parents were rich, I was into dubstep, and I got my own mixing table. Whenever I wanted something, there it was. There wasn't much I wanted, though, I had it pretty good. I was always happy until recently when I kinda messed something up." "Can't you just buy your way out of trouble?" Moon was confused for a second, but Vinyl elaborated "I kinda messed up socially." Moon could tell that this was a touchy subject for her, but Vinyl didn't give Moon a chance to stop her. "Her name was Octavia. my ex." She was about to mentally burst from excitement from hearing that Vinyl liked other girls, and she was single, for about a millisecond. She realized from how she spoke that Vinyl didn't take the breakup very lightly. "She was lead cellist for the school band, and loved classical. We'd never fight about anything, and we very quickly came to an understanding about our seemingly opposite musical tastes that we would never agree in a million years. This didn;t make much of a difference in the relationship, it was someone else. Sunset Shimmer. She's always the one who causes all the problems, and she has it out for me. Apparently, what I heard from Tavi's friends, Sunset sent a text saying something that made Tavi move away just so she never sees me again. And I've always hated Sunset, but ever since then, I've been trying to figure out a way to ruin her life forever. I know that there's no way to fix it with Tavi, but i can still win this fight." Moon had no idea what to say. "i'm in. What could she lose that we could with." "The Princess of the School. You could run." "It's on." They got back to Vinyl's place and had to share a bed, but obviously neither of them minded.
