The story goes that Bellerophon captured the divine stallion while he was peacefully drinking from a spring. Bellerophon tamed Pegasus, and rode him into battle against the dreaded Chimera. Afterwards, Bellerophon tried to fly to Mount Olympus, but he fell, for mortals should not meet with gods.
Pegasus served Zues after that, by carrying his thunderbolts. For his service, he was made into a constellation, and all was well.
Or so it was said
In reality, Pegasus was given a new life, in a paradise called Equestria.

Pegasus arrived in a strange land, with clouds that seemed to fluffy to be natural, and full of colors that were simply too bright. The air didn't seem to move on its own, and Pegasus did not find it to his liking, so he landed atop a small hill.
Where he landed, the purest and most inspiring spring began to flow. Pegasus bent his neck down and drank his fill. This spring was the reason he rarely landed. If he did so more often, the whole land would be flooded!
Having quenched his thirst, Pegasus prepared to explore more of the strange land, and fly the strange sky.

"Hey guys, I just found something totally weird," said Rainbow Dash, landing right next to the rest of the Mane Six during their picnic.
"What was it dear? Some new monster?" asked Rarity.
"It was a spring! Right outside Ponyville!" said Rainbow.
"A spring? That's not much cause for worry," Twilight responded nonchalantly.
"It is though! It wasn't there this morning, which means something put it there. Maybe something bad," said Rainbow, trying her best to look worried.
"I reckon you're just lookin' for a reason to beat somethin' up, Rainbow," Applejack tipped her hat to her friend.
Rainbow grimaced. "Well, it's pretty boring around here lately. But seriously,where did the spring come from?"
A large shadow of a pegasus passed over them. Rainbow wasted no time in scoping it out.
"That's not Bulk," she said, suddenly thinking that there might just be a monster,"it's a hell of alot bigger than Bulk."
"We need to check it out," said Twilight, instantly serious.
The Mane Six gallopped after the shadow, which was easy given its size. It was definitely a pegasus, but not one they had ever seen before. Also, it was pure white, making it difficult to spot against the clouds.
"Hey buddy!! Get down here!" shouted Rainbow.
The white pegasus halted. Then he began to come down. As he got closer, they saw his real size. Easily three times their height, with a wingspan at a full 30 feet, he was truley intimidating. Fluttershy gave the smallest squeak imaginable, but didn't move an inch, even as the others backed up.
"Fluttershy, get back! He could be dangerous!" hissed Twilight, standing with the others a few yards back.
"He's s-ss-so t-t-tall. Squeak," Fluttershy said, too frozen by fear to move.
She stared right up at the giant, who looked back at her with the strangest pony face as had ever seen. His muzzle was huge, and his eyes small. She didn't really think too hard about, being too worried about death and all.
"I AM PEGASUS, THE DIVINE STALLION OF ZEUS, LORD OF THE SKY! WHO AND WHAT ART THOU?" boomed Pegasus.
"I'm F-f-fluttersh-shy. Squeak!" said Fluttershy.
"I CANNOT HEAR WHAT THOU HAST SAID. REPEAT THYSELF!! demanded Pegasus.
"Um hi," Twilight stepped up beside Fluttershy,"I'm Twilight, and you are, uh, Pegasus?"
"I AM PEGASUS." he stated.
"Oh, alright then. Um, could you talk quieter, please?" Twilight asked pleasantly.
Pegasus opened his mouth again, the paused and closed it.
"I apologize, I was not aware what range of sound you are comfortable with." said Pegasus very gentlehorsely.
"It's not a problem," said Twilight, happy that the visitor stemmed friendly, "so,what are you here-"
"Your name is Pegasus?! What kinda name is that? I mean, you're a pegasus so they named you Pegasus?" Rainbow Dash hovered at eye level with him.
"I am called Pegasus, and all other pegasi are named after I, the greatest of winged horses." responded Pegasus.
"We're not horses though, we're ponies," said Rainbow.
"Are you not still pegasi?" asked Pegasus.
Rainbow opened, then closed her mouth, looking confused.
"Wait, you're the Pegasus who fought the first Chimera? And was born of Medusa and Posiden?" asked Twilight.
Pegasus nodded. "Born when the blade of Perseus spilled Gorgon blood upon the earth."
Twilight gasped. "The old myths! They're true!" she gushed excitedly to her friends.
Rainbow rolled her eyes. "So you're some sorta god, huh? How bout a race?" she said wickedly.
"Of course, racing has always been an excellent method of putting small ones in their place," said Pegasus.
Rainbow frowned. "First one to the spring and back," she said.
Each took off faster than the eye could see, but Pegasus returned faster still. And when he landed, the most beautiful spring in the land appeared where his hooves touched land.
Rainbow screeched to a stop. "Ha, ten seconds fl- HOW DID YOU GET HERE?!" she exclaimed.
"I am the divine stallion of Zeus. None can best my speed, save Hermes and Arion." said Pegasus.
"A divine stallion?" Rarity bit her lip, "I know who my next date is."
And so began the adventures of Pegasus in Equestria. He became a hero and a legend, crowned Prince and awarded the title 'Fastest Pegasus Alive' (much to Rainbow's dismay). The other Elements befriended him, and they all loved his stories, and Applejack especially loved his ability to harvest the whole orchard in one day.
It really was paradise in Equestria.
