3 It's Over...

It's over…

Darkness… Coldness… Emptiness… Silence…
Those words describe the state of the room right now, or, more like the state of two broken souls, but, how else would it be? There's no better state for a broken heart…

The main hall of the library was dark, darker than always, the only sound, some sobbing in the middle of the room, a bit muffled by the usual bed of cushions that adorned the floor. Twilight and Rainbow were right now at the center of that improvised bed: Twi, curled into a tiny ball, sobbing uncontrollably; Dash, was sitting next to her, with a hoof on Twilight's head, trying to comfort her, even though she made her cry on the first place.

"Calm down, Twilight, please… This is just making things worst…" the sobbing just increased "Twilight…" said the pegasus, a hint of hurt on her voice to see the unicorn devastated like that, maybe it would have been better to keep it shut, to never say a word… no, Twilight was just too smart, she would have find out eventually, and that would be even worse than this, and she would hate Dash for keeping that secret from her… no, the better way to take things was this, after all, the pain would disappear, eventually, it always goes away…

Dash decides to lift the unicorn up and pull her into her arms, enveloping her on her wings as well, something that seemed so natural now for the pegasus and the unicorn; Dash started to talk to her on a soft voice, stroking her mane and back with her hoof "Please, Twilight, don't cry… It'll pass, to the both of us. It always does…"
"B-but, t-that's just…" The poor thing was trembling now, making the "strong" mask of the cyan pegasus break down, falling apart in the form of tears. "It just isn't fair, Dash.. I-I loved-"

"Shh…" Dash put a hoof on Twi's lips, locking eyes with her tenderly "I know, and I did too, but, it was meant to happen anyway, we both knew it well, it was starting to get boring for the both of us, what started like the greatest thing ever, just became tiring; we knew it well, only we didn't want to admit it…
You know what they say after all: everything that has a beautiful beginning has to end at some point as well."

From a far corner of the library, a frustrated groan escaped the baby dragon's mouth "Argh… chill-pills girls, it's just a book! Sigh…" Spike retorted, leaning against one of the bookshelves, crossed arms and frowned face.

On that moment both ponies felt their eyes twitching, and just after a small lapse of silence, both shouted in unison "Just a BOOK!?"

"Uhh, yes?"

They both drew daggers at him with their eyes, and yelled at him merciless "SPIKE!" And~ so, may the lecture of both fillies begin, and well deserved none the less, after all, how dare that punk disobeying baby dragon say that Twi and Dash's favorite book was just a book, especially now that they knew the author would not write more, and the fear of their reading afternoons together could be reaching its end… unless…

"Hey, Twi?"
"Yes, Dash?"
"Wanna start reading that book of E.Q.G.C.W.? "
"Hmhm, sure thing, Dash…"
