//------------------------------// // The Worst // Story: Bad Luck // by MIKEANTHONY321 //------------------------------// Fluttershy ran to the window alongside Twilight to see what was going on. Sure enough, she saw a looming, roaring swirling cloud just above Sugarcube Corner. “Oh, this is bad.” Fluttershy shivered, scared. Twilight wasn’t at the window anymore. She was consulting a book on weather and how to deal with it. Rainbow came out of the bathroom, extreme pleasure on her face. “Ohh, I needed that…” she moaned. “What are you reading? And what’s that noise outside?” she asked. “I’m reading a book on weather, and that noise is a tornado about to spawn over Sugarcube Corner.” Twilight said with a dark tone. “What?” Rainbow exclaimed. She darted to the window and looked out, and saw the devil cloud looming and swirling over the bakery. “But but…but…” Rainbow stuttered. “I know it was supposed to spawn tomorrow, but tornadoes are unpredictable! We had no way of knowing it would spawn today.” Twilight interrupted. “Someone has to warn the Cakes, or else they’ll be killed!” Fluttershy nearly whimpered. “And don’t forget Pinkie Pie!” she finished. “I can’t call them, because all the phone lines are dead. What could we do?” Twilight asked, with fear in her voice. Rainbow looked down at the ground. In a brave and confident tone, Rainbow announced what she would never have heard herself say. “I’ll go. With Celestia as my witness, if that storm kills me, at least I’ll go down as a hero.” Twilight and Fluttershy stared at Rainbow in awe. Fluttershy was close to crying, worrying she’d lose her friend in this daring attempt. Rainbow Dash looked back at them, a look of content in her eyes. There was no changing her mind. “I’m going to evacuate Ponyville.” she announced. …………………… Twilight continued to stare at Rainbow Dash, while Fluttershy had tears rolling down her face. She wouldn’t be able to stand it if her friend died. Rainbow didn’t dress in anything. She was going to expose herself to the storm completely bare. She stood on the front door mat, ready to head out into the elements of dark nature. “Twilight…if I don’t make it………tell Applejack she still owes me 20 bits.” Rainbow ordered. Twilight chuckled. “Good luck, my little pony.” Twilight reassured as she gestured her good bye. Rainbow stepped outside and closed the door. She was blown right off her hooves, and struggled to get back up. Once she did, she figured out how to maintain her balance. There would be no flying on this trip, for it could cost her her wings…or her life. Rainbow looked up to the swirling death cloud, which started to form a cone, hanging above Sugarcube Corner. She headed there first, ignoring the rain and wind that was whipping at her body. ……………………… Mr. and Mrs. Cake had closed up shop due to weather conditions. It’s not like anypony is gonna show up to their store in these conditions anyway. There was a sudden pounding on the door. Startled, Mr. Cake went to the door to find Rainbow Dash. He opened the door and Rainbow invited herself in, shivering and dripping wet. Before he could say anything, she began. “I’m not sure you guys realize it, but there is a funnel cloud collecting right over your shop. It’s gonna turn into a tornado! You gotta evacuate this place, now!” Rainbow exclaimed, panting. Mr. Cake put a hoof up to his mouth and gasped. He went to get Mrs. Cake, while Rainbow Dash went upstairs to get Pinkie Pie. When she reached the top, Pinkie took one glance at Rainbow and giggled. “Hee hee! Why are you so wet, Dashie?” she laughed. “I came here in the rain to warn you guys about a tornado! It’s gonna spawn right over you! You gotta get out!” Rainbow yelled. Pinkie stared, shocked. “Get downstairs!” Pinkie Pie hopped down the stairs, and Rainbow followed. Once they were all gathered in the store, Rainbow Dash got down to the point. “Do you guys have a basement or a cellar of any sort?” Rainbow asked. “Well yeah, we got a storage room underground, but—“ Mr. Cake started before Rainbow interrupted. “Then you gotta get down there and stay there, with your hooves over your head, you understand? Go!” Not given a choice, the Cakes scrambled down to the cellar. Pinkie stared at Rainbow Dash. “You’re my hero, Dashie…” Pinkie whispered, serious for once in her life. Mrs. Cake poked her head out of the cellar and yelled, “Come on, Pinkie!” Pinkie ran down there with them. When Rainbow rushed back outside, she was pelted by hail. It was like a dozen bee stings all at once, and it hurt. “I’ve got a long way to go if I’m gonna evacuate every pony in Ponyville…” As Rainbow ran to the next house, she looked behind her, and saw the tornado touch down and rip Sugarcube Corner to pieces. The pieces, large as a house and small as a golf ball, flew in all directions as the tornado followed her, looming closer. “HOLY BUCK!!!” Rainbow sprinted for her life against all odds. ……………………… Fluttershy was trying not to be hysterical. She was shivering, and still softly crying. Twilight was trying to think of any way she would be able to help. She couldn’t use any kind of magic, because weather is only in control to pegasi. She just couldn’t find anything. Meanwhile, that roaring noise outside turned into a moaning, constant explosion sound. Twilight and Fluttershy darted to the window to see what it was. The tornado had touched down, and was heading for the shopping district. They saw a load of ponies dashing out of there, almost like the Running of the Leaves. Sprinting in the opposite direction, towards them, was Rainbow Dash, with a heroic smirk on her face. She passed them and headed to the other side of town. “She did it! She evacuated the first half of town! In one piece, that is!” Twilight exclaimed excitedly. Fluttershy let out a sigh of relief. She suddenly remembered something. “Uh, Twilight? Shouldn’t we be in the basement as well?” Fluttershy asked softly. Twilight looked back at her with sudden realization. “I don’t have a basement…” Twilight answered. ………………………… Rainbow had just warned the third house when she looked back. The tornado had turned around and was heading in her direction, ripping and uprooting everything in its path. “Bad luck, you won’t kill me yet!” Rainbow yelled confidently at the tornado. She still had seven houses to go. Rainbow made it to the next house. She used her karate to kick down the door, and yelled, “Tornado! Everypony run away from Ponyville, now!” Without waiting for an answer, she sprinted to the next house. She used this technique for all the houses. Soon she was finished, and had Ponyville evacuated, save for the Cakes and the two back at the library. She turned around and began to run back to the library. Suddenly, her hoof hit a large stone, and she crumpled to the ground. When she tried to get back up, her hoof burned like fire. She hopelessly lied there, and looked up. The tornado began to tear through the library. Rainbow watched in utter shock. “No! Fluttershy! Twilight!” Still unable to move, she uselessly lied in that spot, and watched as the tornado headed straight at her. It's very short. Still, it was a good ending right? Please let me know what you think, and be honest. Just don't be mean about it!
