//------------------------------// // Waking to a Flowery Coup! // Story: Kirby Pony Deluxe // by theassassin //------------------------------// Once upon a time, Kirby was having a normal day at his home. On normal days, Kirby liked to eat apples, chase butterflies, play with King Dedede and Spear Waddle Dee, and take his regularly scheduled flight on his warp star, where he would soar around Popstar Planet without a care in the world. Sometimes, he even played with Meta Knight, but he was always staring at those rectangles he called books. Whenever Kirby tried to play with one, he got in trouble. Flashback As Meta Knight was reading, Kirby decided to pretend the book was a hat. "Kirby," Meta Knight said. "Stop playing with that. Books are made to be read, not played with." "Poyo?" was Kirby's only response. "Kirby, if you don't want to read books, then go ride your warp star or something." Meta Knight said. "I am busy." Kirby was disappointed. He had only wanted to spend time with Meta Knight. However, he suddenly got an idea. He ran off to see if King Dedede and Spear Waddle See wanted to play a game. However, he completely forgot about Meta Knight. End of flashback After Kirby inhaled and copied a Noddy, Kirby had his sleeping hat on and suddenly became very tired. Kirby climbed into bed, and fell asleep almost instantly. However, little did Kirby know that as he slept, vines grew over his house, eventually lifting his house into the sky! But Kirby wasn't the only victim of the house-lifting vines. The vines also lifted up King Dedede's castle, and somehow a small chunk of land with Meta Knight and his belongings was also stolen from the ground. Even though the victims were asleep and unaware as morning drew closer, King Dedede's Waddle Dee guards were wide awake and aware the whole time. Flashback Before the mysterious vines arose, two Waddle Dee guards were talking to one another. "Get it now? That's why the King's tricking us. He's offering us protection in exchange for protecting the castle. WE're the protection! He doesn't have a way to protect the protectors, he's too idiotic to figure one out." one said. "Ooooh, I thought he just meant that it's every Dee for them self, so you need to protect yourself. But, even though your theory makes more sense, I like mine better, so I'll just stick with mine..." replied the other. After they talked for a bit longer, they found themselves standing in complete silence, waiting for their shifts to end. All of a sudden, they saw something slowly moving out of the ground. It was a tiny green vine that had popped put of the grass a few feet from the castle. It was growing rapidly, getting larger by the second. As it grew taller, it moved closer and closer to the castle. Alerted to this possible threat, the Waddle Dees rushed forward to cut the vine with their spears. However, several more popped out, growing even faster than the original. Two vines disarmed the Waddle Dees, while one larger one grabbed both of them and launched them with force equal to that of a catapult. As the Waddle Dees flew, they caught a glimpse of the castle covered in vines and being lifted along with a chunk of land that held it. End of Flashback As Kirby woke up, he groggily got up, yawned, and looked out the window on a chunk of land 2,000 feet above the ground. When he realized something was seriously wrong, he ran outside, only to fall off his chunk of land. Kirby fell, unable to fly because he was caught by surprise. In the process, he lost his sleeping hat and landed on a vine near King Dedede's castle, which also got lifted up, apparently. Kirby knew that the castle's front exterior was designed to show a face depending on the King's mood, and according to the castle, the King was probably about to wack his remaining guards over the head for not cutting the vines, which was the best reason for the King to be angry that Kirby could think of. Kirby decided to go help calm his buddy down. When Kirby reached the castle, he saw a floating figure with a cape, 2 horns, and 3 floating hands with his back to him. As the figure moved towards King Dedede, all but one of the few Waddle Dee guards that remained used their spears to block him. Suddenly, the figure's hands started glowing, then the whole figure himself started glowing. Then, he jumped into the air and smashed his fists into the ground, launching back the guards that were blocking him. The remaining one backed away and hid behind the King's throne. King Dedede stood up, only to get blasted into his throne and onto the ground by the figure. Victorious, the figure picked up the King using his hand-magic and flew off. "What in Equestria was that?" a voice said, startling Kirby. He jumped back and looked around searching for the voice's owner. Suddenly, 6 colorful ponies and a colorful scaled creature emerged. Kirby ran towards them and jumped around. Kirby liked them because Kirby liked colors. He especially liked the rainbow one and the pink one, who seemed just as excited as he was, if not more. "Hi!" Kirby said. the creatures looked startled slightly, probably because they were surprised he understood them. "Hello, uh, little guy. What's your name?" the purple one, who sounded like the voice from earlier, asked. "Kirby! Kirby!" the puffball said. "Well, Kirby, I'm Twilight Sparkle, and these are my friends. That's Applejack, that's Pinkie Pie, that's Rainbow Dash, that's Rarity, that's Fluttershy, and this is Spike." the purple one, who was Twilight Sparkle, said as she pointed out who was who when she said their name. "Poyo." Kirby stated. "What?" Twilight asked. "Poyo." Kirby repeated. Before Twilight could react, the wall next to them exploded.
