//------------------------------// // Chapter 2 // Story: The One // by Kolective //------------------------------// I woke up later to find that I was in a actual bed. Still in the same little cottage before. I slowly sat up, feeling much better, but not wanting to strain myself at all, and leaned on the wall. With the pain reduced to a minimal, I could actually start paying attention to my surroundings. I looked around to see those that helped me sitting in sleeping bags around me, but one was strange. It was empty. I looked to my side, and there she was. Twilight. Why was she next to me? I immediately noticed a magical aura around us both, a pinkish color, a dark pink. I saw Twilight's horn glowing, and knew that she was casting a spell to heal me over time. I shuffled around a little bit, and lied back. I couldn't do much of anything. "I see you are awake," Twilight said, and I jumped at the sound of her unexpected voice. "Oh, did I startle you? I'm sorry. I didn't mean to. Please forgive me." I turned over to face her, and slumped back down into the bed. "Thank you for what you have done for me. I can't make it up to you right now, I'm sorry." I said this, meaning it entirely. I was in their debt. I would have died had they not found me. "Please, go back to sleep for now," Twilight said, and I didn't want to, but my body was happy to ablidge, and I quckly fell asleep. I woke up later, and saw Fluttershy near me, sitting in a chair. "Hello," she said with a blush. "Hello, I believe, Fluttershy?" I said, with a quick reply. "Yes, I'm Fluttershy." She walks over and feels my forehead lightly, me still in a daze. "You aren't sick, so that is good. Are your injuries healing okay?" I started with a thank you. "Yes, they are, and thank you for helping me. And... About your hand..." She quickly shouts out a small eep, jumps up, and runs out the door. A few minutes later, she comes back in slowly. "Would you like some breakfast? Oh, and what is your name?" "Oh, my name is... Blaine. And sure, I would love some breakfast." She slowly walked out, and as she walked out, I faintly hear her say, "Hmm... Blaine... I just..." We sat at the dining table and ate some eggs. Fluttershy didn't seem hungry, but I was. I was really hungry. "Hey Fluttershy, you need to eat something." I was responded to by a small whisper of a voice, "I'm not hungry..." Every time she looked at me, she darted away her gaze as soon as I looked at her, with a constant blush on her face. "Are you okay, Fluttershy?" I got up and put my hand on her forehead to make sure she wasn't running a fever. That was all it took. She suddenly jumped up quickly, said, "I'm sorry," and fled to her room, in which I soon followed in pursuit. She ran up to her room and slammed the door, where I opened it slowly and walked in, approaching cautiously. "Fluttershy, are you okay?" I looked over to her, and she sort of cowered away. I approached slowly, and I very carefully placed my hand on her shoulder. She started the conversation. "I just... I get really nervous around you. No, not nervous, I just... I don't know entirely... I feel a little bit happy, but kind of surprised and a little wild, too, with a little bit of fear and-" "Fluttershy. Are you okay?" She gave me a stare, and for once, actually looked me straight in the eyes. "I... I'm sorry... I shouldn't have ran from you... I'm sorry..." Fluttershy was starting to cry a little, so I brought her to the bed, sat down next to her, and comforted her, saying I would help her in whatever way I can, I will be here. Then I realized I don't even know what I am good at, or how I could help her. For right now, I am kind of useless...
