//------------------------------// // Epilogue // Story: Doctor Whooves: The Changeling Invasion // by Draconaquest //------------------------------// Everyone showered that morning. To most people, it was a Christmas Day, where everyone would be celebrating, and having fun, but, not everyone was having fun. Both Sunset and the Doctor were depressed, and weren’t spending time with everyone else. The Doctor was wearing his blue suit, with a white shirt, and a red and green Christmas tree pattern on his tie, while Sunset was wearing her normal clothes, besides her leather jacket. Everyone had gathered at Pinkie Pie’s house, where they were having a jolly good time, minus the Doctor and Sunset. They were sitting in the living room, separate from the rest of the group, where they simply sat in silence. The worst part? Everyone had forgotten about Christmas Eve’s ordeal. It was as if the Changeling Invasion, and Twilight’s death never happened. In fact, they never existed. However, everything they did still happened. “Come on, you guys!” Pinkie Pie shouted, jumping into the room. “We’re opening presents!” She pulled them both up, and forced them into the party room, where everyone was opening Christmas gifts. Sunset had bought something for Twilight, but, that was rather useless now. The Doctor also had something for Twilight, but he felt that would also be pointless. But, he had bought something for Sunset. And, Sunset had bought something for the Doctor. The Doctor presented his gift to Sunset, which was in a small, blue box. She opened it, and pulled out a small, black pen, which had a blue emitter of the top. “Sonic pen,” the Doctor explained, “I saw one before, and thought you might need one. Just in case.” Sunset smiled. “Thank you.” Then she reached behind her, and grabbed a small present. “I got you something too.” The Doctor grabbed the present, and opened it. Inside was a golden wrist-watch. The face was also golden, with only the even numbers printed on it. It was already set to the correct time. “Wow.” The Doctor said. “Thanks.” He smiled and hugger her, before standing back up, and walking away. “Sorry I didn’t get any of you anything.” Sunset said, looking at her friends. “Aw, it’s fine Sugar cube.” Applejack said, smiling. “Is that the reason you’re so bummed out?” Rainbow Dash asked. “Cheer up, darling, you should know it doesn’t matter what you get us, it just matters that you’re here. We don’t need items to know you care.” Rarity said, sitting next to Sunset. Sunset smiled, and embrace the five in a warm hug. “Thank you. All of you. I don’t know what I’d be without you all.” When the girls separated, Pinkie Pie said, “Now come on! It’s Christmas! Let’s party!” “Hold on! I’ll go get the Doctor.” Sunset said, gleefully. She ran outside, and looked for the TARDIS, which the Doctor had parked outside. And, when she found it, it was already dematerializing. When Sunset returned home that night, she looked at the table. Twilight’s glasses were sitting there, along with a present. She stepped toward them, and looked at the present. On the tag was a note. To Sunset, Love, Twilight. She opened the present, and pulled out a black leather jacket. The collar was turned up, and there was a gold stripe on each sleeve. She pulled it on. It was very comfortable. And, Sunset smiled, happy that her friend thought of her. A few weeks later, when Sunset was sitting in her science class. She had started wearing a light blue dress under her new jacket. She liked her new look, and it suited her. Then, she heard the TARDIS noise. She looked out the window, and saw the Doctor standing in front of the mirror to Equestria. He was wearing his brown suit, and light blue shirt, with a brown and blue tie, all under his light brown trench coat. His right hand was in his suit pocket, while his left was hanging free. His face was straight, although, it looked like it was sagging a little. She ran out of class, despite Mr. Turner calling her back, and ran outside to meet him. When she got up close to him, she looked directly in his eyes. They were sad. He entered the portal to Equestria, and vanished. A few minutes later, and the Doctor returned. He stared at Sunset again. He didn't say anything. He didn't need to. He slowly turned around, and entered the TARDIS, closing the door behind him. A few seconds later, and the time machine was gone. Sunset looked up, tears in her eyes, and slowly trudged back towards the school. Princess Twilight Sparkle woke up from her slumber, and yawned. She hadn’t slept like that for a long time. She sat up, rubber her eyes, and saw a figure standing before her. His mane was brown, his coat a lighter brown, and he wore a brown suit, and held in his mouth a note. He set it on her bed, and walked out of the room, entering a tall, blue, wooden box, which dematerialized with a loud screeching noise. Twilight’s horn shone, and the note levitated toward her, and opened. It read only two words: Good-bye. She looked up, and shouted, “Spike!” When Spike arrived, Twilight’s pillow was soaked with tears. "Well, it seems the universe is giving you a second chance at life." Suddenly, she saw a little bit of light. A crack in the darkness, shining white. She headed toward it, or at least she thought she did, since the crack got closer to her. As it seemed to consume her, she only heard three words: Silence will fall.
