//------------------------------// // The First Night (Edited) // Story: It's Boring at the Top // by PinkiDuskRarityDazzle //------------------------------// Ch;1 “We did it! We finally did it! Now can we get victory tacos?” Sonata said breaking the silence. She and her sisters, Aria and Adagio had just won the battle of a lifetime. “Shut up! We need a way back into Equestria! With this power, we can become the new and improved version of freaking CELESTIA!” Adagio reared with pride and confidence, overjoyed that her master plan worked. “News flash! We're stuck here. There's no portal back! The Rainbooms must have smashed the mirror from there side because it's destroyed now.” Aria said bluntly as she pointed to the broken statue and shifted her weight. She always pointed out the obvious and downside of things. Adagio, however did not notice the wreckage until now. Staring shocked at it, she took a deep, calming breath, and another, and another. The breaths became shorter and quicker until she lost it. Adagio screamed with anger so loud, she could see the city's lights be turned on to see what all of the commotion was. She clenched her fists in rage and felt her temperature rise rapidly . Aria and Sonata, on the other hand, were used to this kind of outbreak from Adagio. The two girls glanced at each other, shrugged, and watch their sister have her meltdown. Aria thought that it was hysterical! She laughed and snickered to her heart's content. Sonata was concerned for her sister, but then remembered Aria told her that this kind of thing was normal for Adagio, so she stood there respectfully and waited patiently for her fellow siren to finish. Aria thought Adagio was a “Drama Queen”, but Sonata thought Adagio “expresses her feelings often”, but one thing's for sure with Adagio, if she can't have it, nobody can, so she does everything in her power to wipe it of the face of the Earth! Adagio continued to act traumatized for the next ten minutes, then, she simply got up, as if nothing happened, and said “Lets go home”. ~ ~ ~ The three of them own a small apartment. It just covers the basics, Adagio never let them upgrade because she said that it was only temporary until they got back to Equestria. With that option no longer available, Aria said, “Can we get a better house now? There's no sense of staying here in this dump any longer. Since we can't go back, can we at least rule this pathetic thing here that the, 'humans' call a world?” Adagio stared at Aria. She liked the idea, disliked where it came from. “We'll sleep on it.” Adagio said plainly, not wanting to admit her defeat. “But right now, let’s prepare ourselves for the few days ahead, With this small amount of Equestrian magic, we have almost our full potential!” Adagio said with a mischievous smile. “But that's for tomorrow. Let’s eat dinner, hit the hay, and discuss this more in the morning.” She stated, looking at the clock which read 8:34. “We've had a tiring day, what's on the menu tonight Sonata?” The blue-haired girl perked up, processed what her sister had said, and made a mad dash to the kitchen with a wide grin on her face. “We deserve a prize, I'm making us steak with artichoke and cherry pepper sauté!” Sonata said proudly. Adagio and Aria both smiled and nodded in agreement. Sonatas face, once again, lit up with joy as she quickly started on their meal. Sonata has a knack for cooking and was picked as the chef of the house, which is completely fine with Aria and Adagio because Sonata also will find enjoyment cleaning her messes, which can easily grow rather large. Dinner was served twenty minutes later. Adagio was impressed at how attentive her younger sister was with presentation. The siren’s meal looked like it came from the Food Network, and tasted like it to! Aria, however, dove right in, finishing her plate before her sister even sat down. Adagio was discussed by this and called Aria out on it. Aria just shrugged, not caring, and chugged down her iced tea, belching afterward. Sonata was not the best with her table manners either, but she at least tried her hardest. She would put her elbows on the table, slouch, and occasionally talk with her mouth full, but she waited for everyone to be served before eating and properly used her utensils. Aria cared for none of these rules, while Adagio will strictly follow all of them, leading them to constantly bicker over it. Adagio almost always wins, but that won't stop Aria from trying, causing this conversation to loop over and over again every night. ~ ~ ~ Adagio picked up her plate, thanked her younger sister for the meal, and said that she was going to bed. “I know it's early,” She said looking at the clock again, which read 9: 17 “ but we had a long and tiring day. I'm going to bed, but you girls can stay up later if you want. Just not too late, last time you two were up past midnight, you wouldn't wake up the next day, literally!” Aria and Sonata both slowly nodded in agreement, upset but their sister is always right. “Good night girls!” “Good night Adagio.” Aria and Sonata mumbled in one voice. “Hay Aria? Wanna play our game? Common! It'll be fun! I bet I'll beat you again.” Sonata said, taunting the disk in front of Aria. “FINE!” Aria roared after a long pause. “But I get to be P1” “Yes!” Sonata said under her breath. She normally plays by herself and Aria hardly ever comes out of her room. “But first I'm getting in my night clothes and I suggest you do the same.” “Ok Aria! I'll be right out!” The girls climbed the stairs to their room where they each got changed. Aria came out first wearing a baggy t-shirt and sweat pants. Three minutes later, Sonata came out wearing a prouder pink silk nightgown, complete with matching slippers. She was clutching a white teddy bear with a matching ribbon around his neck. Aria stared in shock. She opened her mouth to say something, but then quickly shut it figuring it was hopeless. “Thanks for playing with me Aria!” Sonata chirped. “Ya ya, whatever.” Aria replied, taking her pig tails out. “Now hand me the P1 remote.” ~ ~ ~ “KO!” The television said. “Yes! I win again!” Sonata yelled “That was the fifth time in a row! That's not possible!” Aria shuddered. “Yes it is! It’s called SKILL SUCKA!” Sonata bragged. “I'm done!” Aria screamed, throwing down the remote. “I'm going to bed.” “OK.” Sonata said confused. “I'll see you in the morning I guess” she yawned as she put the controllers away. She passed the clock which read 12:03. “Oh no! Adagio will be so mad at us!” “Its fine Sonata. Just go to bed” Aria grumbled. “But we broke her rule! How can you just let that go!” “Rules are meant to be broken” Aria said, she then shrugged. “They're here to keep us safe Aria!” Sonata hissed. “Just don't tell her” Aria said, starting to get impatient. “But that's lying!” Aria slaps her forehead and marches up the stairs, ditching her younger sister, “Good night!” Sonata yelled as she heard the door to Aria's room slam behind her. “Tomorrow's another day.”
