"Excuse me?" Wilhelm turn his head to see a female equestrian behind him. She was wearing a long black dress while wearing a long hooded cloak over her dress. Wilhelm could see her looking back,knowing she must be in danger if she hadn't contacted him.
"Are you my bodyguard that my father hired?" Wilhelm only replied with a nod."Ah good I really want this to be over quick. The mare said as she lead him to the streets. The unicorn looked back at her bodyguard.He was wearing a hooded cloak as well although it seems to be more longer than hers possibly to conceal him from the public. Wilhelm continue following her until she started to run at the corner.
"Is something the matter?" Wilhelm said.
"It's them,their gang was the one who sent us the letter." He took a quick peek out to see what they look like. They were pack of griffins, common thugs but they closing in to the street they were on.
"Try to find somewhere to hide." Wilhelm inform her yet she tried to replied but interrupted her."It's alright, I'll take care of this." Wilhelm finished speak to her waiting for a answer which nod in agreement. Wilhelm walk towards the gangs leaving himself in the open so they can get their attention on him.
"Well well,are you their lapdog?" One of the griffin spoke.
"Wait are you a dragon!?"
Dragon, that word in the Hidelands is consider taboo.No one is allow to say that but when the griffins said had angered Wilhelm.
Wilhelm pulled both of his swords out as the griffin reveal their sharp talons from their paws. All of the griffins charged at him as Wilhelm stood in the same spot while the griffins raised up their claws releasing a huge swing. The griffins swung their attack at Wilhelm only to see him vanished from their sights.
"Where is he?"
"I'm over here!"
"Huh!" One of the thugs followed his voice seeing he was behind them spooky them ."How did you get over there?"
"You were just too slow, surrender now or I will use my blade!" Wilhelm stated at them as the griffins were beginning to all charge at him. Wilhelm lift one of his blade up as all of their talons hit the hilt of his sword breaking their wrists. "I warn you if you don't leave them alone it will be much worst!" Wilhelm's words cause the griffins to quickly fly away.
"Is it over?" a voice was heard behind him.Wilhelm knows it was the mare only to replied with a nod hearing a sigh."Thank you I know that they will never come back for that. I suppose you want your pay?" Wilhelm nodded again as they continue on walking the street. They continue to walk on busy road until they stop by a huge house.
"I take it that's yours." Wilhelm spoke to the mare who nod while chuckle.
"It is but you never know what happens if you are one of the richest family in Trottingham, so we should step inside for your reward." The mare said while leading Wilhelm to the door. Wilhelm step inside seeing all the luxury furniture around the house.
"You may want to wait here for a bit, I will get you the money that you deserve for your hard work." The mare told him while she left the room.Wilhelm observe everything around the room. The luxury in the house looks expensive yet Wilhelm hated nobles due to their attitude towards the less fortunate plus the one he met while serving the Iron Claws.
Flash back......
Wilhelm watched as the Nobles continue to crowd the other generals at the ballroom.
" I don't know why we are here? Shouldn't we be in the battlefield." Wilhelm said to a soldier who was grabbing and eaten piles of food.
" I wouldn't mind plus the food is better than our ration." The soldier continue to chow on many food until he was scowled by a noble.
"Are you really going to protect us? What nonsense!" The noble walked away leaving the soldier to drop all his food.
Wilhelm saw him and started to feel bad. "Hey you are not gonna to let some asshole like that bother you! Just cheer up little brother...lets just leave. Kasumi might be cooking up her famous spicy dumplings."
"Yeah lets leave this crapfest."
"Language! You made be a soldier but I wan't no cursing from you!"
"Alright I'll stop." Wilhelm laugh as they started to walk out of the building with his brother.
End of Flashback.....
Wilhelm sat down waiting for someone to return, the minutes turns to hours as Wilhelm was finally about to leave for boredom.
"Leaving so soon?" Wilhelm turn around revealing the voice. It was mare he met however isn't wearing the cloak."My father couldn't come down so he ask me to give you the money. I must thank you for what you've done." The mare said to Wilhelm as she handed him the bag of bits.
"You welcome."Wilhelm replied to the mare as he headed to the exit of the building. After Wilhelm left the mansion he decided travel out of Trottingham and went to the dirt road. Wilhelm was used to traveling on the road due to be lead and also leading troopers,mostly he travel by boats to go to another battlefield or a city. He traveled for miles but froze seeing shade covering the sunlight above him. He quickly looked up and notice a flying chariot passing him, he was surprise at first yet he continue on his way down the road. Wilhelm thought for a bit after seeing a flying chariot. This was the first smile on his face... probably the first time he smile after leaving Obelisk.
