Ch2: Passing Time in the House (Preview)

I shifted slightly in my chair, watching Pinkie as she trotted around my house. I smiled slightly, seeing her adorable face examine nearly everything in my living room. The way her face was scrunched up as she looked over everything was too much for me.

"So, Pinkie," She stopped her searching and turned back to me, giving me her full attention. "How did you get here?" Silence began to fill the room. All she did was stare at me, before moving her head down, looking at the drops of rain fall off her, and onto the carpet.

“I...” She stuttered, moving her right hoof onto her forehead in thought. “I don't remember.” She shook her head, before looking back over to me. "I have no clue how I got here." I continued to stay silence, trying to evaluate the situation. It didn't make any sense to me, the more I thought about it.

"Well, I'm not sure how you got here, or why, but if you need a place to stay, I don't mind if you stayed here until you figure it out."

"What?" Pinkie looked at me in confusion. "You would just offer me a place to stay? Just like that?" I sighed, and looked up at the ceiling in thought.

"Well, from what I know, you don't know how you got here, and if you don't know that, then you can't get back." I explained as she watched me. "So, if you can't get back, you need somewhere to stay until you can figure something out." Placing one of her hooves on her chin, pinkie stood there in thought. After a few moments, she looked at me, and smiled softly.

"You've got a good point." Sighing slightly, she trotted over to me, as I watched her approach. "It's gonna be a bit weird, though. I don't really know you that well."

"Has that ever stopped you before?" I laughed, but she just stared at me. Slowly, I realized what I said, and quickly stopped.

"How would you know that?" I froze, as she stared up at me. Should I really tell her that she's from a cartoon?
