//------------------------------// // It's been a while... // Story: Doctor Whooves: The Changeling Invasion // by Draconaquest //------------------------------// "You would not believe what I had to do to get here!" the Doctor exclaimed, unbuttoning his trench coat, "I parked my TARDIS around your old apartment thinking I'd pay you a visit, but, then I discovered you weren't living there anymore, so, I looked you up in the phone book, figuring I'd find you there, only to discover that it hadn't been updated. So, I then had to go to Pinkie Pie's house to ask her where you lived, and, Pinkie being Pinkie, talked my ear off for half an hour, just so could get to the questions, and then I had to run through the blizzard just to get here!" He pulled off his coat, and hung it on the coat rack. He was wearing his brown suit, with a white shirt and black tie."I've had a hell of an afternoon." The Doctor walked into the kitchen, and opened the fridge. "Look at all this junk food. Do you actually eat this stuff? Sunset walked over to the fridge, and closed it. "Doctor, what are you doing here?" The Doctor moved past Sunset, and into the living room, "I just wanted to see you, that's all. After all, it is Christmas, isn't it?" "It's a week before, actually." Sunset said, following the Doctor. "Oh, Twilight, hello!" the Doctor exclaimed, entering the living room. "How've you been?" "I'm good, thanks." Twilight said. "By the way, what day is it?" The Doctor asked. "Sunday," Sunset said, "the Twentieth." "So, five days until Christmas." The Doctor said, "I got here early." "Well, there's a Christmas Party at the school on the twenty-fourth." Sunset said. "Oh, really?" the Doctor asked. "I might attend. Depends on the situation." "What situation?" Sunset asked. "Whether or not there's something going on or not," the Doctor explained, "and, knowing my luck, it will be terrible." The Doctor immediately knocked three times on Sunset's desk. "What was that for?" Twilight asked. "I don't want to jinx it." the Doctor replied. "So, five days until Christmas. What do you plan on doing until then?" "Well," Sunset began, "I'm helping Twilight find her own place, since she doesn't have one yet. She's staying with me until then. Although, we still do have school until Wednesday, but, judging by the state of this weather, unless the snow stops falling, and the plows clear the road by tomorrow, I have a feeling school will be cancelled." Suddenly, Sunset's phone began ringing. "Speak of the devil." She put the phone on speaker, as Principal Celestia spoke, "To all students, and their guardians, tomorrow, Monday, December Twenty-First, school will be cancelled all day, due to a snow emergency. However, because of this, there will be school on Thursday, December Twenty-Fourth. I apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your time, and we look forward to seeing the students on Tuesday." "What?" Sunset exclaimed. "Who has school on Christmas Eve?" "Apparently, Canterlot High." the Doctor said, bluntly. Sunset smirked, and raised an eyebrow. "Still though, we're stuck in the house for a while." "Yeah, me too." the Doctor said. Twilight cocked her head to the side. "Why?" "I parked the TARDIS a few miles away. This weather would kill me if I went outside again, and I really don't want to use a regeneration today. And, with how much snow that will be piled up, it will take a while to dig the TARDIS out of the snow. I'm stuck in here with the rest of you." Sunset smiled. "Well, that outta be fun." "Yeah..." the Doctor replied, his voice trailing off. "What?" Sunset asked. "It's just um..." the Doctor stuttered, "I'm not very good at staying in one place." "It's just a day." Sunset replied. "Yeah, I know." the Doctor said. The three sat in silence, before Sunset said. "It's pushing six o' clock, I'm gonna start dinner. You guys okay with fried tilapia?" "Yeah." the Doctor and Twilight said, simultaneously. "Okay, I'll start dinner."
