Issue #2 - Some Assembly Required (Part 2)
"So...what the heck was that thing?" Iron-Man asked.
"S.H.I.E.L.D.'s been calling them Annihilates" Hawkeye answered.
"Hmm...do you guys know anyone who might know anything about this thing?" Twilight Sparkle inquired, looking over the body of the Annihilate.
"We could try Captain Marvel" Iron-Man suggested.
"Who is that?" Barb asked.
"I don't really know her well, but I know she was given alien powers" Iron-Man explained, "So she might know something about what's going on"
"So your reasoning is because Captain Marvel has alien-like powers, so she must know something?" Black Widow raised an eyebrow.
"Sure!" Iron-Man smiled.
Captain America, Black Widow, and Twilight Sparkle went into the Quinjet to find Captain Marvel, while Iron Man, Hawkeye, and Barb stayed at the S.H.I.E.L.D. Area to make sure nothing else happened.
A few hours later, Captain America, Black Widow, and Twilight Sparkle, reached the small town of Bodegaville, Captain Marvel's territory. They landed on Stinstallion National Beach, a place a few miles out Bodegaville.
"So...do you guys know how to find Captain Marvel?" Twilight Sparkle asked.
"I don't have a clue..." Black Widow answered as a blue and red streak flew through the sky.
"You guys think that's her?" Captain America thought out loud as Captain Marvel landed in front of the group.
"Who are you three?" Captain Marvel, aka Carol Danvers, asked the trio.
"My name is Twilight Sparkle" Twilight Sparkle introduced herself, "And these are my team-mates, Black Widow and Captain America"
"Well, it's nice to meet you both" Captain Marvel smiled.
"Do you know anything about this?" Captain America asked Captain Marvel as he held out a copy of the alien cube-piece.
"Hmm...it looks like some kind of Negative Zone Teleporter..." Captain Marvel analyzed.
"What's the Negative Zone?" Black Widow asked.
"It's a strange dimension that we don't quite know about" Captain Marvel explained, "But we've seen some technology and the things that live there, like the Annihilates, Annihilites, and Annihilius"
"Annihilus? Who's that?" Twilight Sparkle asked.
"We don't have much information on him, but we know he's the ruler of a part of the Negative Zone" Captain Marvel informed her.
"Do you think that he's responsible for this?" Captain America questioned.
"Probably, but we don't know for sure" Captain Marvel answered.
"Say, do you want to join our team?" Twilight Sparkled asked Captain Marvel.
"Sure!" Captain Marvel decided, "I'm really looking forward to helping you guys combat this new threat"
Suddenly, Black Widows phone began to vibrate as she pulled it out and answered it.
"Yes?" Black Widow answered.
"Widow, we've got a situation down here!" Hawkeye exclaimed, "The portal opened and now there these bug type things attacking us!
"Alright, we're on our way!" Black Widow assured Hawkeye as she turned to the group, "We've gotta head back to base camp, they're under attack!"
"Alright, then let's go!" Captain America told the group as they rushed to the Quinjet.
"Wait!" A voice called out, catching the groups attention, revealing the man to be Doctor Bruce Banner!
"Who are you?" Black Widow asked.
"I'm Dr. Bruce Banner, and you may need my big, green friend, so can I come with you?" Bruce Banner asked as the group nodded and made it to the Quinjet, now with Dr. Bruce Banner.
Meanwhile, back at the Base Camp, Hawkeye was shooting arrows at the Annihilites, which were bug-like and walking on two legs, while protecting Barb, while Iron-Man was blasting them with repulsor rays.
"Hawkeye..." Barb whimpered, "Are we going to die?"
"Not on my watch!" Hawkeye exclaimed as he fired an arrow at an Annihilite, killing it.
"Hawkeye, I'm running low on power! I need to stay down and recharge!" Iron-Man told Hawkeye.
"How much time do you need?" Hawkeye asked desperately.
"I need about thirty minutes" Iron-Man panted as he landed.
"Thirty minutes!" Hawkeye exclaimed, "I've only got six arrows left!"
Suddenly, a large Annihilate used its long, forked tongue to grab Barb!
"Help me!" Bard cried, struggling to break free from its slimy grasp!
"Barb!" Hawkeye called out he fired three arrows at the Annihilate, but to no avail.
As Barb cried and weeped, fearing that her last moments would come, the clouds grew dark, and sound boisterous thunder could be heard, a blast of lightning struck down the Annihilate, freeing Barb!
"What was that?!" Iron-Man questioned as the mighty Thor descended onto the battlefield!
"Thanks for saving me mister!" Barb thanked Thor and hugged his leg.
"Aye, tis all in thy days work!" Thor smiled.
"Hey, can that hammer thing shoot lightning?" Iron-Man asked Thor.
"You mean Mjlonir?" Thor explained, "Aye, for it doth strike upon my foes!"
"Good, can you hit me up with some?" Iron-Man asked.
"Art thou sure?" Thor raised an eyebrow.
"Yes!" Iron-Man answered.
"Alright!" Thor summoned a blast of lightning and launched it Iron-Man! Iron-Man checked the power in his suit, it was recharging! After about five more seconds of lightning, Iron-Man was back in action!"
"Boo-ya!" Iron-Man exclaimed, "I'm charged and ready to take on anything!"
"ANYTHING BUT ME!" A voice roared from the portal, as a green and purple bug-like creature with giant, green wings, clawed armor, blood-red eyes, and green robotic armor appeared from the portal. From the looks of things, this thing stood at twenty feet high.
"What is that thing?" Iron-Man asked.
"I AM ANNIHILUS, AND I HAVE COME TO DESTROY YOUR WORLD!" Annihilus declared as a larger army of Annihilates and Annihilites rushed through a portal!
