//------------------------------// // You know what, I'm done // Story: The Things I Put Up With // by Scruffy Hootenanny //------------------------------// Luna was sitting across from Celestia, and Cadance on the other side of the dining table. they were busy gossiping about Twilight, instead of talking about Equestria's new found alliance with the yaks, like they were supposed to be doing. "Really, she almost started a war?" Asked Cadance. "Indeed, quite the feat from the princess of friendship." Replied Celestia. Celestia, and cadance then erupted into a fit of laughter. Luna just sighed and thought to herself, They do this every time we have a meeting, and it is so annoying. Why can't they ever take these meetings seriously like I do. She looked at the salad that was in front of her blankly, still thinking about her sisters and nieces obliviousness to the matter at hoof. Celestia, and Cadance stopped their chitter chatter, and looked at Luna with concerned faces. Celestia then asked her sister, "Why are you always such a frumpy grumpy at these meetings, can you lighten up a bit once and awhile?" Luna still just stared into her salad unwavering. "Hello? Equestria to Luna." said Cadance with concern in her voice. Luna finally snapped out of her trance, and looked at the two sets of eyes watching her from across the table. It took an awkward moment of silence before she realized what her sister had asked her a moment ago. "You two are always so oblivious to what these meetings are supposed to be about. You always go off on tangents, gossiping about things that shouldn't matter. Right now we should be talking about our new found alliance with the Yaks, not talking about how Twilight almost started a war with them." Luna told them with a frown on her face, and sternness in her voice. They continued staring at Luna's pouty face before Celestia spoke up. "Come on Luna, can't you find it at least a little bit funny?" "Yes, it is indeed a little funny, but it's not what’s important at the moment. what is important is that we get onto the benefits of having allied with the Yaks, and what trade we will do with them." She replied to her sisters notion, "Why can't you lighten up a bit Luna, after all it has been awhile since we have seen our niece. Need I remind you of the last time we saw her?" Luna thought back to the last time they really saw their niece, and that was during the time of Tirek's return. She suddenly felt a cold shiver go down her spine. She remembered what it was like to be stuck in Tartarus, and just the thought left her uneasy. She remembered how weak they were after they had given their magic to Twilight, and how it had left them vulnerable to the beasts of Tartarus. She then went on a rant about how Celestia's idea was terrible, after having to hobble away from even the the weakest of beasts, because of the frail state they were in. Luna then shook her head, trying to rid herself of the memories of Tartarus. "This is getting off topic, yes, it is good to see our niece on such good terms, but it's not what is of importance, as I keep saying." Cadance frowned at how her aunt just brushed her away after not seeing her for so long, and just pressed on about the Yaks. Cadence then looked up to her other aunt, and called her closer with a hoof. She did as she asked and Cadance whispered into her ear. Celestia then backed away from her, and they both smiled at each other. "What are you tw-" Luna was then cut off by a pink frosted doughnut hitting her in the head. It was thrown by her dear sister, Celestia, who was now laughing alongside their niece. She was about to yell at them for their foolishness, but was soon hit by another pink covered pastry in the face. This time thrown by Cadance. You could see steam coming off Luna's now angry red face at this moment. She had put up with their antics long enough, and she was going to make herself clear on that she had enough of their ridiculousness. Unfortunately that did not come, instead one of the doughnuts thrown by the un-princess like duo across the table landed directly on her horn, and slid down it making her horn covered in sticky frosting. Celestia, and Cadance both yelled. "SCOOOOOORRRREE!!!" Luna's pupils shrunk in size, and her left eye began twitching uncontrollably. She thought back to all the meetings they had before, all the times those two goofed around rather then do what was important. Sure things got done eventually, but it was a painstakingly annoying task. Celestia and Cadance both shared glances, before looking back at Luna. "Luna... you alright?" Celestia asked. Luna's pupils returned to normal, and her left eye began to stop twitching. She then looked at the two before her, before she took a deep breath and shouted in the royal canterlot voice. "NOOOOOO, I AM NOT OKAY. EVERY TIME WE HAVE A MEETING, YOU TWO ALWAYS GOOF OFF, AND IT IS UP TO ME TO ACTUALLY DO ANYTHING. FRANKLY I AM TIRED OF IT, SO I WILL LEAVE NOW, AND NEVER PARTICIPATE ANOTHER ONE OF THESE MEETINGS!!! The shouting in the royal canterlot voice, blew all the food off the table, and even shattered the glasses filled with liquids. Luna didn't care though, she just up and left without a another word. Celestia, and Cadance just sat there, shocked over Luna's sudden outburst. Their manes were now a complete mess, and they had food all over them from it being flung by Luna's shouting. They stared at each other for a short moment, before Celestia spoke up. "What a jerk..." Cadance nodded her head and replied. "Agreed, completely unnecessary."
