"and so he payed for the meal and walked off without saying a word!" Pinkie just finished telling Rarity what happened last night.
"What! Did he really take you out on a date and not walk you home?" Rarity sounded exasperated.
"Yep," Pinkie said glumly. At the time, she hadn't realised how much of a deal it was. She was starting to wonder whether talking to Rarity was a good idea.
"W-w-well thats so uncouth," Rarity sounded offended, "are you looking forwards to your date with cheese?" She sounded sofer.
"I don't know," Pinkie replied, "I mean he's always been one of my besties but I'm not sure," 
"It's OK, he'll always be your friend no matter what happens," Rarity soothed Pinkie.
Pinkie managed a small smile, "What am I wearing tonight?"
"You'll see," Rarity smiled.
