Hard Working Princess
Chapter Five

✶✶5✶✶

After facing the few close calls at the royal ball, Celestia started to realize all this worrying was unnecessary. Nopony seemed to notice or care about her diapers and anypony who did, even her sister, didn’t seem all that shocked. Where she expected ridicule and ostracism she instead found tolerance and understanding. After a while, for those few ponies who very rarely saw her in padding, they grew use to a diapered princess. And as ponies around her grew use to her diaper wearing, so did she.

Celestia became more and more accustomed to diapers as the months went by. Now it was hard to imagine the white alicorn without also having her in a diaper.

Bedwetting was now an acceptable drawback in her treatment. She woke up with a wet diaper practically every morning and Phosphor would always be there with a fresh one to change her in.

It was now much easier for Celestia to go in her diapers. If she concentrated really hard on it, she could control herself, but this wasn't always the case. Sometimes she entertained the fantasy of using the potty again, but those days seemed well behind her. Whenever her bladder did fill up completely, she would always choose to use her diapers rather than scurrying off to find a toilet. It was just more convenient that way.

In public, Celestia kept her diapers covered by clothing, but she was much more relaxed about it. At first she would wear heavy dresses with long hemlines that nearly touched the floor, but this wardrobe choice was always physically taxing and hot to wear. With her confidence came shorter and lighter clothing which made diaper checks easier for Phosphor. Now she didn’t seem that bothered when a rogue wind blew her skirt up, exposing the rather full diaper underneath.

Phosphor would always follow the princess closely as she continued her duties as a princess. The pink unicorn always carried a diaper bag with her that was kept well stocked with thick, puffy diapers. Celestia barely batted an eye when Phosphor would check her diaper or pull her away to change her. Things were starting to feel normal for the alicorn.

After only a few short months, Phosphor could tell that Celestia was well on her way, taking hold of the treatment on schedule. She punctuated this wonderful news with some new clothes for the princess. Rather than being forced to wear the stuffy, traditional clothes that were thousands of years old, Phosphor treated the alicorn to some colorful, youthful clothes.

Celestia couldn’t help but let a small smile slip through her muzzle as her reflection looked back at her. She was now dressed in a lovely yellow sundress, made of a light, flowy material. The fabric was covered in white flower prints, giving it a bright and youthful appearance.

“Don’t we just look adorable,” Phosphor crooned, ”all pretty for our little play date today!” The comment made Celestia look up from her reflection, staring back at her caretaker with a puzzled look. “Oh, I didn’t tell you? Princess Cadance will be visiting us today,” Phosphor explained, “I think it’s come to a point in your treatment for some playtime with a like minded peer.”

“Cadance is coming today?” Celestia’s cheeks heated up at the thought.

“Her and her caretaker,” Phosphor added as she used her magic to make some adjustments to Celestia’s dress. “Now come now, sunny butt, it won’t be that bad, I promise. You’ll have lots of fun with your playmate.”

As the day went on Celestia couldn’t get the embarrassing thought out of her head. Cadance looked so confident when she last saw her at the autumn. Maybe she wasn’t as far along in her diaper therapy as she was. Maybe she reverted somehow shortly after Phosphor completed her treatment.

The worry and anxiety about her play date made it difficult for Celestia to focus on her princess work. She often found herself drifting off in her headspace with nervous thoughts. Throughout the day, she struggled to keep her workflow steady. Too many questions were left unanswered.

When the time came Celestia and Phosphor waited for their guests in a spare conference room that was recently remodeled to act as a playroom for the diapered princess. The new playroom was equipped with everything that a playing toddler needed, enlarged to fit the bigger foals. It was a large room, providing plenty of space to run around in and was largely carpeted with a plush, light blue carpet. The leftmost wall of the playroom had numerous shelves well stocked with story books, blocks, and other colorful toys for adult foals to play with.

For the past week or two Celestia was allowed to play around in this enlarged nursery to her heart’s content. It made her heart flutter every time Phosphor said she was allowed to after a tough day of princess work. Time seemed to fly by for the diapered princess when she was in this room. She could easily find herself spending hours in the room coloring or building little cities with her blocks. It was all relaxing and enjoyable for her.

This would be the first time she actually shared all of it with another diaper wearer. Deep down, she felt a twinge of childlike greed stir in her. The regressed side of her was simultaneously excited to play with Cadance and hesitant about sharing her toys. Thankfully, she kept the bratty side of herself under control.

The anticipation was agonizing for the princess as the two waited for their guests to arrive. She turned to Phosphor for some kind of guidance, even some kind of reassurance that everything would be fine. She felt kinda silly relying on her caretaker like this.

Phosphor caught her staring out the corner of her eye, making Celestia snap back to staring straight ahead. The unicorn chuckled, “I know you’re nervous, sweetie, but you don’t need to be. Cadance was a sweet little girl when she was under my care and I’m sure she’ll be on her best behavior for your first play date.“

Celestia gave Phosphor a knowing nod. The assurance made her feel a little better about the situation. Maybe it wouldn’t be as bad as she thought.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door, making Celestia’s ears perk up. “Ah, that should be them now,” Phosphor chirped.

Celestia nervously fidgeted beside her, doing her best to shake off the nervous knots that built up inside of her. She watched as the door knob slowly turned, the anticipation of which made time slow down to a crawl. For a single fleeting second, she thought about backing down and hiding somewhere.

Cadance came barreling into the room, narrowly avoiding tripping over her own feet. Her frilly, pink dress barely had time to react as the excitable pony bolted in. The diapered pony quickly closed the gap between the other two ponies, happily chirping when she arrived. “Hi Tia!” Her tone of voice made her sound like a toddler more than a princess of the Crystal Kingdom.

“H-hi Cadance,” Celestia forced out, finding herself subconsciously inching closer to Phosphor for moral support.

Behind the pink princess walked in a amethyst colored unicorn equipped with a heavy looking saddle bag. In stark contrast to the excited alicorn, the crystal pony was patient with her gait.

“It’s wonderful that you’ve two made it,” Phosphor commented with a polite smile. “I know you have such a busy schedule.”

The crystal pony spoke up with a similar, warm tone of voice as Phosphor. "Caddie, aren't you going to introduce me to your little friends?"

"O-oh...Miss Phosphor, Tia, this is my caretaker, Gemcutter," Cadance motioned towards the crystal pony who calmly smiled back.

"Nice to meet you," Phosphor answered back with a bow.

“Oh the pleasure’s all mine,” Gemcutter replied with a similar bow. “I was tickled to hear that we were coming into Canterlot. I always wanted to see the city.”

“You haven’t been to Canterlot?” Phosphor replied.

“Not since I took little Caddie under my care,” the crystal pony responded, rubbing her cheek against Cadance’s, “my little pamper princess is quite the handful.”

“Gemmy,” Cadance let out a squeaky whine, blushing softly as she moved her head away from the cooing pony.

“Well there will be plenty of time for sightseeing later. You two must be exhausted from your trip,” Phosphor said, “why don’t we catch up in the sunroom with some tea and we’ll give these two some time to play.”

“Oh tea sounds lovely!” Gemcutter smiled, pleasantly following the other pony out of the room. “Play nice you two!” She called out before the door slowly closed, giving the two princesses some privacy.

The room fell under an awkward vale of silence once the two unicorns left. Celestia quietly sat there with a heavy blush, staring at the ground as she uncomfortably sat on the plush carpet floor. Cadance happily took her spot across from Celestia, looking to the other pony with excited anticipation.

Despite the other pony’s obvious excitement, Celestia remained quiet, blushing deeply as she continued to stare at the ground. She had hoped that being around another diapered pony would help her feel less anxious, but seeing Cadance so much more carefree in her diapered state only brought uneasiness to her condition.

A purple ball rolled into Celestia’s field of view, slowing just a few inches short of touching her. She looked up and saw Cadance staring at her from across the room. The pink alicorn wore a wide, excited grin, practically bouncing in place as their eyes met.

Celestia looked away at first, blushing a bit more as she curled her legs up to better cover up the crinkling bulge between her legs. She shyly looked at the purple ball for a moment, trying to overcome the tense nerves that locked her limbs in place.

Finally, after what felt like hours, Celestia pushed the ball back with a hoof, rolling it back to the smiling pink alicorn. Cadance giggled quietly before rolling the ball back. Again Celestia hesitated, but this time the pause was tremendously shorter. After some hesitation she rolled the ball back.

The pace slowly picked up as Celestia thought less of her embarrassing state and more of the simplistic fun that came with rolling a ball back and forth. In a way, the game was hypnotic, relaxing, and allowed her to see the situation in another light.

Away from all the royal functions and the prying eyes of the public, Cadance was noticeably more relaxed and carefree. Celestia could only assume that that sort of behavior was in her future if she continued with the therapy.

Cadance happily giggled, flaunting her diaper and pink dress about like a toddler. She chased after the ball with childlike abandon, waddling slightly as she carried on. She didn’t seem to have a care in the world.

After a while, Celestia found herself adjusting. She began to realize that she didn’t need to pretend to be grown up or stand with highly experienced poise. Here she didn’t need to worry about reputations or representing her nation to diplomats. It was just her and Cadance and a bunch of toys.

Before long the two melted into their own childlike headspace. They effortlessly moved from activity to activity, happily enjoying each other’s company. When rolling the ball back and forth got boring, they moved on to coloring, and then blocks. The toys were haphazardly left out on the floor, quickly abandoned where they laid once the two diapered ponies found a new thing to play with.

It was invigorating for Celestia to have a friend who was in the same situation as her. She felt herself slip into her little headspace deeper than ever before, feeling like a real foal at times.

Her childish headspace hit it’s peak when Cadance suddenly ambushed her in the midst of their playtime. The pink pony giggled as she tacked Celestia, pinning her to the carpeted ground.

“Gotchya!” Cadance giggled.

Not ready to be defeated so easily, Celestia played along and pushed up against Cadance’s weight. She quickly rolled herself about, switching places with Cadance and pinning her to the ground.

“Ha!” Celestia triumphantly exclaimed.

“Are you two playing nicely in here?” Gemcutter’s voice suddenly chimed in, momentarily snapping Celestia out of her childish headspace.

The alicorn shook her head to shake off the immature daze, blushing as her mature mind started to fact check her behavior. Wasn’t she a little too old to be rolling around like that? She awkwardly pulled herself off of Cadance, taking a few steps backwards before sitting down as elegantly as her diaper would allow.

Gemcutter simply smiled and trotted her way into the room. “Don’t worry, I’ll let you two get back to your fun after a quick diaper check. Enjoying our little play date so far?”

“It’s the best! Thank you so much for bringing me!” Cadance happily chirped, being polite to her host.

“Glad to hear it, Caddie. Why don’t you stand up for me first? You’re always so leaky when we’re at home,”

Cadance did as she was told even when blushing a deep crimson. “Gemmy,” Cadance whined quietly as she squirmed in place.

“Shh shh shh,” Gemcutter hushed Cadance’s huffs, slipping a hoof through one of her leg gatherers. “Well you don’t look that full. We can hold off for a little while.” She then turned to Celestia, making the princess shrink down and blush. “What about you, sweetie?” Celestia gulped as her cheeks flared up. “Have you been enjoying Cadance’s company?”

Celestia struggled to force out a response to the question as the unicorn slowly trotted closer. “W-well I...It’s been v-very fun having Cadance...uhm, playing with me.”

“Mhmm, good,” Gemcutter passively said with a motherly smile, her horn glowing pink as Celestia’s dress hiked up over her back. “Has she been sharing her toys like a good girl?”

Celestia gasped when a nosy hoof began to poke at her diaper. Gemcutter ran her hoof through a leg gatherer as the alicorn did her best to keep up with the conversation. “Sh-she’s been...nice enough to sh-share...”

“Behaving yourself?” the crystal pony asked, taking an unusually lengthy time checking Celestia’s diaper.

“I-I’ve been good,” Celestia forced out, resisted as much as she could not not harshly pull her rump away from the invading hoof.

“And soaked too,” Gemcutter added before turning to Cadance, “Caddie, would you mind if I take your little friend off to get her diapers changed?”

“Kay!” the pink alicorn happily spout out, hopping up to her feet and trotting over to the toy chest.

Celestia was guided to a far side of the room, well out of earshot of Cadance who cheerfully played away. Gemcutter set up shop near the wall, floating her diaper changing supplies to the ground as she instructed Celestia to lay down with a hoof. Celestia blushed at how exposed the diaper change would be, but reluctantly laid herself down.

“Phosphor has been telling me how well you’ve taken to your treatment recently. Been picking up quicker than usual,” Gemcutter spoke of Celestia’s personal business so casually as the diaper change began. “She was just telling me about how you’re messing your diapers in public now.”

Celestia choked, “sh-she’s told you about that?” Her cheeks flared up as her mind clouded with worrisome possibility. What ELSE did the two gossip about?

The well used diaper that hung between Celestia’s legs was informally untaped, flopping open once released. “Just some gossip between royal caretakers, sweetie,” Gemcutter replied, levitating a group of wipes into the air, “if it makes you feel better, I told Phosphor a lot about Cassie as well.”

As the cool wipes began cleaning the urine soaked area, Celestia tried to get her mind off of it with some conversation. “She...seems rather well adjusted,”

“Oh I would say so, she looks so cute in her little diapers,” Gemcutter commented with a chuckle and a smile. She spoke so freely of Cadance, like she was just any other foal. “Always so well behaved too. Well, as long as she’s had her nap, of course.”

Her embarrassed mind hastily grabbed for any topics she could talk about that would keep the limelight off of her. “So uhm...h-how does Shining Armor feel about...all this?” It seemed a bit wrong of her to invade Cadance’s personal affairs like that, but she was thankful the conversation was steering away from her own.

“He’s been very helpful with it all. I don’t think Cadance would have done it so quickly if it wasn’t for Shiny’s support,” Gemcutter chatted away as the soggy diaper was replaced with a fresh one. “he’s even changed a stinky diaper or two. Anything to help out.”

The comment made Celestia blush. To think Shining Armor would do something so private. "And uhm...he doesn't mind? Changing diapers?"

"Oh, he doesn’t mind at all! Quite the helpful colt!"

"So uhm, did you make her wear a diaper to the Autumn Ball?"

"She’s become rather dependant on her diapers. I wouldn’t be a good caretaker if I allowed her to waddle off on her own without a diaper.

"You allowed her to go alone?"

“Oh that night was a treat for her being so well behaved. She wanted to be a big girl and go at it all by herself.” Gemcutter continued to talk so casually as a container of baby powder floated into the air, dusting Celestia’s crotch with it’s scented powder. “So I allowed her, but not without a double thick diaper.”

“She was double diapered?” Celestia asked shocked, rathered pleased to hear such news, but her curiosity caused her to continue. “Did she...use her diaper while at the party?”

“Mhmm, almost leaking when she came back. She’s a cutie, but that girl can sure make one stinky diaper,” Gemcutter answered back, slowly pulling up the front of Celestia’s new diaper and taping it around her waist. “oh, but she wouldn’t like me gossiping about her like this. You can ask her yourself if you want to know so bad. I’m sure you’ll have some time to chat before your naps.”

“O-oh...yeah,” Celestia said as she was helped to her feet. “I-I can do that too.”

The two ponies returned to Cadance, who was already melted into her playtime, barely even noticing them return.

“Caddie, it’s nap time,” Gemcutter said, stopping the hyper pony in her tracks.

“Awww,” the pink alicorn moaned before letting out an involuntary yawn. “But I’m not even tired.”

“Now now, sweetie. You know how you get without your nap,” Gemcutter talked to Cadance like a child, “it’s Tia’s nap time as well, isn’t that right, sweetie?”

“O-oh, y-yeah,” Celestia answered back before yawning herself. Suddenly her body felt drained of its energy, already preparing itself for her scheduled naptime.

The two diapered ponies were slowly ushered out of the room, away from the fun looking toys that laid scattered across the floor. Phosphor and Gemcutter worked together to herd the two alicorns into Celestia’s room where a second crib had already been set up.

Celestia was walked through her normal pre-nap routine. Her diaper was checked one last time by Phosphor before her crib was opened up for her to climb in. She noticed in the corner of her eye Cadance and Gemcutter were going through the same steps. Gemcutter was sure to check Cadance’s diaper before she climbed in her own crib, deciding it would be dry enough to last her the nap.

“Don’t wanna forget Pinkie Bear, huh?” Gemcutter said to Cadance, levitating a soft looking, pink teddy bear.

Cadance happily grabbed the teddy bear, embracing it in a big, tight hug. “Thankies, Gemmy!”

Celestia couldn’t help, but stare at the sight. A bedtime plushie was never something she thought she needed until now. Seeing Cadance’s face light up seeing the bear and hugging it so tenderly made a new part of her childish psyche develop. Without fully realizing it, Celestia started to stare at the sight with big, longing eyes.

“Do you want a bedtime plushie like Caddie, sunny butt?” Phosphor’s voice chimed in, snapping Celestia out of her stare.

The princess blushed at the suggestion, feeling shy to ask for such a silly thing. She couldn’t lie to her caretaker and shyly forced out a subtle nod.

Phosphor gave her a warm and understanding smile. “It’s alright, sweetie. I’ll have something nice for you to cuddle by night time.”

Celestia nodded, crawling under her blankets and allowed Phosphor to tuck her in. It seemed like an acceptable deal. Just one more night without a sleeping buddy would be fine.

“Have a good nap, you two,” Gemcutter chimed in, magically pulling up Cadance’s crib gate.

“G’night!” Cadance happily chirped, giving her teddy bear another big hug.

Phosphor lightly kissed Celestia’s forehead. “Goodnight, sweetie,” she said.

“Goodnight Phosphor. Goodnight Gemcutter,” Celestia answered back, raising her head to look at the other unicorn. Wouldn’t want to be rude.

“Nighty night,” Gemcutter said as she hit the lights and tip toed out of the room. Phosphor followed close behind, gently closing the nursery door as she left.

The room fell under dim lighting, only faintly illuminated by the night light plugged into the wall. Celestia stared at the ceiling for a moment, unable to fall asleep as quickly as she use to. Her mind filled with questions for Cadance and she tried to work up the courage to ask them.

“Cadance?” Celestia craned her neck up and peered through the bars. Cadance was already fast asleep in her own crib, hugging her pink teddy bear while suckling passively on her pacifier.

“Never mind,” Celestia said mostly to herself. She pulled her bed sheets up close to her neck, curling under the soft warmth and yawned. All in all, a good play date. She was glad Cadance could make it.
