//------------------------------// // Chapter 4: Flaming defence. // Story: Bringing the fear. // by Iceclaw_Gaming //------------------------------// "Bah, there's nothing to do around here..." I groaned, searching around the area for a fun activity. "I'll need to find something soon or I might pillage a town... Wait, what's that sound? A large crashing sound was nearing the town, and fast. A giant bear which was made of constellations thundered out of the forest, looking very pissed off. I looked for whoever caused the star bear to be angered, but I eventually got angered myself and went over to handle it myself. I stormed towards the bear with my internal spark reignited and covered my hands in a green flame, "You wanna go, then let's rumble." I growled, releasing a torrent of flames at the bear, which jumped back. The bear charged at me with insane speed for something so large, but I rolled past its charge and leaped to my feet, "That's it. Time to bring out the sword." I stated, letting my hand go to my back and draw out my sword, which I swung once to get its fire pumped. Using my left hand, I released a torrent of green fire and with my right hand, I was swinging the sword at the bear, both attacks were damaging it until it just burst into flames completely, "Ahahaha... Taste fire beast!" I yelled while lunging forward and plunging my sword right into its chest. The bear roared in pain and ran for the forests cover, still charred in fire and the sword wound bleeding. I grinned under my helmet and put my sword on my back again, "Well, that takes care of that." I chuckle, walking back down the path to my castle. In the distance, I saw the butter yellow pony bawling her eyes out, but I ignored it. Within the hour, I returned to my castle which loomed over the town. When I inspected its perimeter I thought of something, "Has it not occored to me that the perimeter is not well defended..." I questioned myself. Sighing, I started slowly walking the perimeter, setting up a fire wall slowly. The fire wall was fully functional, though it took me three hours to get the wall set up and have a way to activate and deactivate it simpaly, I smiled and admired my work. I looked up to the sky to see it nearly morning, Emerald would be waking up soon, so I needed to work fast. I ran into the castle and flung the doors shut. I shoot through the halls and into my office, where there were some papers that I needed to finish by sunrise. I sat at my desk and quickly finished the remaining papers, then I put them in a box for the mailmare to deliver to town hall in the morning. With that finished, all that needed to be done up was breakfast, so I walked to the kitchen silently, closing the door gently. I looked around for a second then got the frying pan out and ignited my stove with a small amount of fire. I put some bacon and eggs on the pan and let them start cooking. While they were cooking, I got Emerald some toast with jam on it ready and set it on the dining hall table. Shortly after, my breakfast joined my daughters on the table as well. I looked over to the clock to see it was seven thirty, so Emerald should be here in a few minutes. I went to the washroom to clean myself up so I could avoid questions from Emerald. When Emerald entered the kitchen, I nodded to her to let her know I saw her. We then ate breakfast in silence as there was nothing to talk about in the morning. Afterwards I got Emerald ready for her first day of school. "Alright. Quills, ink, parchment, binder, bag, lunch." I listed off, "Your all set Emerald." I smiled to her, which got her to smile back. "See you after school dad!" She called, running out the door. I waved to her as she ran into town. "Well, time for more planning.." I grin under my helmet.
