//------------------------------// // Epilogue // Story: The Final Moments of Princess Luna // by Caligari87 //------------------------------// Luna recalled well the feel of the moon. It was peaceful and quiet. She had been here once before, though her last visit had been an imprisonment. This one was not, and it was decidedly more pleasant. She quickly lost track of any time or space, but did not attempt to recall them. Her last moments might have been a few seconds, or a thousand years more, she could not tell, but eventually, she felt her magic begin to fade. She made no attempt to slow it, and instead let the silvery moon glow ever more beautiful. She wanted to show that the visage of the Mare in the Moon would no longer a specter of terror; rather a gentle guardian of the ponies below. Finally the last of her magic slipped away, and her mind started to fade in its wake. It was the end, and she accepted it with grace. She knew most likely there would be nothing, and that was okay. But then as she wondered at the brilliant, strangely familiar golden light approaching from the distance, she thought... perhaps… there may yet be something more.
