Lullaby for a Princess [Doctor's version]

Lullaby for a Princess (the Doctor's version)

Fate has been cruel and time unkind...
You had to have sent her away!
The fault is for none; the punishment, both
I visit you from the timestream today.

But from stream of time I'll bring you a song
And I will your company keep
Till your tired eyes and my lullabies
Have carried you softly to sleep

Once did a pony who travelled in time
across the vastness of space by and by.
He smiled and said, "Surely, there is no pony
who's seen the future as I."

But I should really continue this story
About how the future was cast
Banishing Nightmare Moon the only thing you can do
which can only end when a 1,000 years passed

Lullay moon princess, goodnight sister yours
And rest now in moonlight's embrace
Bear up my lullaby, winds of the earth
Through dimensions, and through time, and through space

Carry the peace and the coolness of night
And carry my sorrow in kind
Luna, you're loved so much more than you know
The future to which you are blind

Someday another pony shall come,
their coat of another hue.
And she shall revive the Elements of Harmony
as one of a future time can do.

But such is the way of the Elements of Harmony.
I don't mean that I should boast.
But losing the Elements is not the last stop.
Each Element needs to find a new host.

Lullay moon princess, goodnight sister yours
And rest now in moonlight's embrace
Bear up my lullaby, winds of the earth
Through dimensions, and through time, and through space

Carry the peace and the coolness of night
And carry my sorrow in kind
Luna, you're loved so much more than you know
The future to which you are blind

The years now before you
a mystery unknown
Don't you worry.
You face them not alone.

These thousand winters
Shall surely pass by I say.
She love you, She misses you
All these miles away

And after a thousand years from tonight,
another pony shall set matters right.
The details I cannot say by paradox create,
Just remember it's the friendship that matters that night...

Sleep...
Sleep...
Sleep
