Phantom War III: Insanity Returns
Many months has past since Danny has left the Phantom Consortium with Cynder, his Housecarl. Now, the two have search far and wide and had finally found what they look for: The Temple of Insanity.
The Temple resides on the other side of the planet, located in the dreaded place known as Underdark. It is a forest, massive and the only place where the sun never shines on. They make their way there, not knowing what will happen in the dangerous and unpredictable future.
Many Months later…
I have been searching for answers for many months now. My power, growing as time passed on, was helping me find my target. I have traveled the other side of the planet, looking for Underdark. Underdark was a name of a forest on the other side of the planet, home to the Dark Ponies. We arrived to the forest and we had Nemesis hover over the forest. Me and Cynder were on the flight platform, ready and geared for the trip down. We had Night Vision Goggles on, ready to head down.
“Trypticon, find someplace to land and you may relax there.” I ordered.
Trypticon replied “TRYPTICON ACKNOWLEDGES THE CHAMPION OF UNICRON.”
“Good.”
Me and Cynder jumped off the deck and made a quick dive to the forest. During the dive, we put our night vision goggles on and we landed safely. We looked around, seeing the forest in night vision. It was quite beautiful for being shrouded in eternal darkness.
Cynder said “Too bad this place is under a dark shroud.”
“Yes, I believed the Dark Ponies were created by Nightmare Moon from during the Sun-Moon War. But because I’m Luna’s son, I’m technically the Heir to the Throne here.” I explained to her
Cynder said “I see…”
“Come. Let’s see where the Temple is.”
We began to walk around the forest floor, getting past anything they tried to stop.
A Stallion Stranger said “Did you see him? He must be the Son that the Prophecy had foretold. ‘The Son of the Shadow and Moon returns to Equestria. He battles the Son of shadow and crystal in the duel down to the death. But he will not be alone. He will be with the Demented 6, the bringers of Insanity. With Chaos and Insanity running amok, Harmony will falter and fail. The Greatest War, far more superior than the Discord Wars, will bring the Dawning of Darkness’ or somewhere around there.”
The Pony had a Black Coat, Silver Mane and Tail, Lavender Eyes, and wore leather armor. He had 2 swords with him. Curved blades that looked different.
The Stallion said “If he is indeed the Son of the Shadow and Moon, then I must do whatever is in my power to aid him in winning the Dark War.”
The Stranger got up and dashed away with a black panther close to him.
Me and Cynder had travel deeper into the forest, clearly lost. We were walking around until I heard some rustling in the bushes. We looked and see a Unicorn come out of hiding with a black panther.
“Who are you?” I asked him.
The Stallion replied “Salve, Filius Umbra et Luna.”
Cynder didn’t understand what he said, but my eyes widen at the sentence.
“Tenebris Pony. Ubi ego conferre invenire Legendary Temple dementiam?” I said in his native tongue.
The Stallion replied in the Common Tongue “I know where you speak of. I’m surprised you understand the language of my people.”
“You know the common tongue?”
The Stallion answered “Indeed. My name is Shadow Strike, but call me Shadow.”
Cynder said “Nice to meet you Shadow, I’m Cynder.”
“And I am Danny Eclipse. I am, indeed, the ‘Son of the Shadow and Moon’, as you referred it earlier.”
Shadow said “Alright. Follow me; I’ll take you to the Temple of Insanity.”
We nodded and began to walk to walk to the location of the Temple.
Shadow told me “Hey Danny, you know, you have night vision since this is technically your domain.”
“True…”
I took off my goggles and blinked a few times. My eyes began to glowed and I could see my surroundings like it was daylight.
“Whoa…”
Shadow said “Being the Heir to the Night Throne, Nightmare Moon could see into the dark without any trouble.”
“How did I not notice that sooner?”
Shadow asked “Have you ever been in a dark place before?”
“Actually, never.”
Shadow told me “There is your answer then.”
After a few minutes of walking, we finally made it to a Temple. We begin to walk up the stairs and when we get to the top, it was big. In the center was some sort of circle, ritual circle of some sort. There was a wall but there were 6 empty slots.
“What happened here?” I asked.
Shadow said “It all started when Discord returned. He encountered the Mane 6 and wanted to their clones, like the originals but much better. However, he couldn’t create them so he thought of replicating the Elements of Harmony. Thus, he created the 6 Elements of Insanity. He made an attempt to create the Elements of Chaos but it failed. He created something far worse and in attempt to make sure they will never be used, he split them across the entire planet.”
“Is there a way we can locate them?”
Shadow told me “Only one can find them. The Seeker of Insanity.”
“Where might I find him or her?”
Shadow answered “That ritual circle is where he is sealed in. In order to free him, you must use your medallion’s power to bring him back to the living.”
I sigh and nodded. I got into the center and my medallion began to glow. My left hoof began to radiate off the dark energy. I slammed it into the ground and the circle glows. I began to back off as a red light shoots towards the sky.
Celestia and Discord were enjoying each other’s company.
Discord told Celestia “I’ll be back soon; I’ll go get another bottle for us.”
Celestia nods and Discord goes to get another bottle. That was; until he felt a zinging feeling.
Discord shivered and said “That can’t be right…I must be imagining it.”
Discord shrugs and walks away, heading back to Celestia with a bottle of wine.
The red light stops and we looked. We see a Dark Green Alicorn with a Sharp Horn and Alicorn Wings. He had Purple and Dark Blue Mane and Tail. His CM was a metal hedgehog head with 3 different colored alien symbols. His ears were metal horn-like ears. The Alicorn opened his eyes, which were insanely small, revealing his left eye dark green and his right eye Nightmare Moon-looking Blood Red eye. The Alicorn blinked a few times before laughing out loud like a maniac.
The Stallion said, voice sounds like a robotic cyborg as well “I’m free! I’m finally free!! After spending an eternity in there, I’m finally free!!”
“Hello…”
The Pony looked at Danny and his eyes narrowed.
The Stallion asked “Are you…Danny Eclipse?”
“I am.”
The Stallion asked “So, the Prophecy is coming true? The Dawning of Darkness?”
Shadow answered “Indeed, it is.”
The Stallion told us “I am Darkbine, Seeker of Insanity, Leader of the Dark Brotherhood, and Pinkis Cupcake’s Boyfriend.”
“Hello Darkbine.”
Darkbine asked “So, you wish to seek the Elements of Insanity?”
Cynder said “We are.”
Darkbine said “Alright. But first; I need my Emerald.”
Darkbine closed his eyes and suddenly, the platform in the center of the circle opened and a small case came up. The case opens, revealing a Black Emerald. The Emerald came to Darkbine and began to float around Darkbine.
Darkbine said “Alright, let’s go.”
I nod in agreement and we began to leave.
