The sun was just coming up and Princess Cadence had sat in a soft, pink, cushioned chair in her royal study. She was pondering what she might do for entertainment since Shining Armor left to visit Ponyville and help his sister research a new spell. This left Cadence to tend to the Crystal Empire and as anyone might guess, this was quite boring, almost nothing ever happened there and thus she was willing to do anything for a bit of fun.

She had tried everything, she played Ponopoly (and lost a good friend among her royal guard in the process), Gryphons and Balloons (which she failed horribly), even Solitaire (which she believed to be a game for singles). She had exhausted all her entertainment and had nothing left to do.

This was when she thought, what would Discord do? Or at least what would he do if he had the sort of power a love-spreading alicorn had, and her crazy new idea was born. Sure the pure embodiment of chaos wasn't the best thing to base a plan off of, but in all honesty, she was getting quite bored of laying about the Crystal Empire doing absolutely nothing. And besides, there was a lot of good to come out of the plan should it succeed, and what mare in the right mind would give up a chance for some romantic comedy? Especially if it could be used for some pretty interesting gossip?

And so it was decided, Cadence was going make everyone in Equestria love one pony for a day, and of course erase all memory of it happening afterwards. The only question that remained was who? Who would be the victim of her delightfully devious torture? She knew such a spell would be very taxing magically so she didn't want to do it too often, she needed to be certain of her choice.

She sat with a hoof on her chin and pondered it as the fireplace nearby slowly burned away. Of course! It was such an absolutely perfect choice that she wondered how she hadn't thought of it sooner!

Her choice made, Cadence gathered her best and most loyal unicorns into the study and asked them to share their powers in an "unknown" spell she wished to try. Their horns glowed with a powerful and bright aura of multicolored magic as a shock wave of pure love was sent throughout Equestria. Cadence thanked the other for their help and went to watch over her chosen victim...
