Chapter two
“Ok then, let’s get these forms filled in shall we?” Lara said as she placed some forms on the table.
As they finished filling in some forms Lara noticed something on Scootaloo’s next of kin. “Rainbow Dash is Scootaloo’s aunt? Thee Rainbow Dash, the Pegasus who once saved the Wonderbolts and did a Sonic Rainboom three times?”
“Yep, she sure is.” Applejack answered. “But what about her parents, aren’t they supposed they the next of kin?” Lara asked.
“They would be but sadly her mother died after giving birth to Scootaloo, and her father Rainbow Dash’s bother, died five years ago, during though bad storm while he was saving some ponies.” Applejack answered again.
“Oh I’m sorry to hear that. It must have been hard for both of them?” Lara said feeling bad asking about it now.
Rarity came up to Lara and placed her hoof on her shoulder “Darling its ok you didn’t know about it.”
“I know, but what about her aunt, why couldn’t come?” Lara asked.
“Because she at a Daring Do convention and she said she’ll bring me something that has an autograph from the author of the series for me, since I couldn’t go.” Scootaloo answered. Lara turned to see Scootaloo and the others.
“Oh, I don’t hear you come in.” Lara said with a sad tone in her voice and then said. “We finished filling the forms so we can go and get some tools and some safety gear from Check list.”
On their way to meet Check list Twilight came up to Professor Mud and asked him a question. “Professor Mud when Applejack told Lara about how Scootaloo lost her parents, she seemed to be more upset then the others that found out about it. Do you know why?”
Professor Mud moved up closer to Twilight and wisped “Lara is still a bit upset over the news that we can’t have any fillies of our own. We thought about adopting one but I thought it would be best that we wait for a bit for her to get better. But with us being so busy lately I’m not sure when we’ll get around going it.”
Twilight knows she’s going to feel bad about asking the next question. “Do you know what was the course of all this?”
“The doctors couldn’t be sure what was course of all of this, they think there might have something to do with Lara’s blood, but at the same time they think there something wrong with my blood as well. Since this doesn’t happen very much, they don’t much data on this.” Professor Mud replied.
Twilight was just about to say something but Professor Mud interrupted her “There’s no need to say anything Twilight, something will work out some day. Oh we’re here already. Check List over here.”
Twilight and the others arrived to a storage office and outside was a white earth pony stallion with a clip board cutie mark and he is also bald. Lara started the introduce “Everypony this is Check List, he’ll be” “AAAGH!” Everypony turned to see who that was, only to see it was Rarity. “Why is a stallion like you with such a beautiful white coat walking around bald? I can’t let this continue. Come we must fix this.”
Before Check List protest, Rarity used her magic to lift him up and drag him away with her. “Somepony, Anypony help me!” Check List said in a panic.
As Rarity ran past Sweetie Belle she quickly said “Sorry Sweetie Belle I got to help this poor stallion I’ll get back as soon as I can.” Sweetie Belle turned to face the others and said “Well we won’t be seeing those two for the rest of the day.”
Professor Mud and Lara looked at each other with a confuse look on their faces, then Lara look at Twilight and asked “Is that normal for your friend to ponynapped ponies over a mane?”
Applejack couldn’t help herself but laugh over what just happened and answer her question “Well she is a fashion designer, so I could say that more or less normal.”
Lara with a surprise look on her face over her answer and asked “Any idea on when they’ll be back?”
Sweetie Belle decided it was her turn to answer a question “That depends on how long it takes for my sister to find the right wig for Check List and there might be a chance she could give him some clothes, also asked him out.”
Professor Mud decided to tell everypony it would be best to get the equipment they need and start without Check List and Rarity. “Ok now that we got what we need, let’s get to the excavation site and see what we can find. Remember stay close together and if you find anything let me or Lara know ok?”
Everypony nodded “Good let’s get started then.”
Three hours has passed for Twilight and the others during their time in the ancient ruin they found different ancient items that’s ready to be studied. They were about to end their search to take a break until Sweetie Belle of the CMC found something on one of the walls. “Professor Mud, I think I found something.”
Professor Mud herd Sweetie Belle and came to see what she found “What have you found Sweetie Belle?”
Sweetie Belle pointed to what she found so Professor Mud took a closer look and also removing more dirt of it. “This is interesting. It seems to be some sort of metal I haven’t seen before and I think there’s something else as well. Give me a minute here.”
Professor Mud then closed his eyes and then his horn started to glow, then he moved his horn on the metal wall. Twilight came up to Lara wanted to ask something. “What spell is he using?” Lara looked at Twilight told her. “He’s using an ultrasound spell. It allows him to get a closer look on what we can’t see and what’s on the other side of it. Also there was a time when he uses it to see what I got for him for his birthday and hearth’s warming day, so I had to hide the presents at my friends home so he doesn’t use that spell to see what’s in them.”
Twilight nodded. “I see, I heard about that spell before, only a few unicorns could do it. I bet it wasn’t easy.”
“It wasn’t easy for him. He can only do it for a short time at a square meter area.” Lara answered.
Professor Mud finished his scan and happy to tell everypony what he found. “There seem to be a door just to our right here. Let’s get the dirt off and let’s see what’s behind that door.”
Everypony carefully removed the dirt to uncover more of the door. Once it was cleared Professor Mud carefully using his magic to open the door to reveal what’s inside. Professor Mud slowly and carefully entered the discovered room. “What do you see Professor Mud?” “I can tell you one thing Twilight, there’s not much in here, except this thing here.”
Professor Mud walked over to what he saw, at a closer look also removing a bit of dust off it, he was amazed what he has found. As the others come in he told everypony what it is. “This seems to be a stasis capsule. The ones that freeze you in time from those sci-fi novels, I never thought I would see a real one.”
Applejack having a hard time believing this, asked the Professor just to be sure. “Professor how can you be sure it’s one of those stasis thingies?”
“That’s a good question Applejack.” Professor Mud walked over to the stasis capsule and pointed to something. “This here is monitoring its heart like the ones we have at hospitals, there’s a view window so you can see who or what is inside and there’s a few other things that needs looking into. So yes it’s indeed a stasis capsule and whatever’s in there it’s alive.”
Lara looked in to the view window to see what’s inside. She was not expecting to what was inside. “It’s a. It’s a, a real Hu-ape everpony, a real Hu-ape.”
“Are you sure Lara?” Professor Mud then looked in the view window just to be sure. “It is. It really is a Hu-ape in side. This is the discovery of a life time. Lara let the other team know what we have found and tell them to bring some of the other equipment as well, this will need to be studied carefully.”
“I’m on it.” Lara left the room to bring the news to the other team. Scootaloo walked up to Professor Mud and asked “So when are you going to let the Hu-ape out?”
“I’m not sure if that’s a good idea. First off we know if it’s understand our language, second releasing it to a new world might bring harm to it shelf and to others. So until then it stays inside.” Professor Mud said answering Scootaloo question.
Sweetie Belle walked up to the stasis capsule and saw a button. “Hey, what does this button do?” As she said it, she pushed the button and then the stasis capsule started making some noises. Everpony was scared thinking what would happen next. The door slowly opening, when the door fully opened the Hu-ape slowly walk out of the capsule. Different question were running into the ponies minds, does it speak their language, does it know what happened to its people, what does it eats, does it like cupcakes just to save Pinkie Pie the time asking the question and will she show up?
Meanwhile at Ponyville Hospital
“Hum? Nurs Ifik soomne iss bracking he fuof wal.” (Nurse I think somepony is breaking the forth wall.) Pinkie said with her tongue still sticking out. “Yes, Yes now stop talking, I’m trying to get your tongue untied, a two meter tongue.
Back to the excavation site
The Hu-ape now out of the stasis capsule looking around the room, the poinies wasn’t sure what’s going to happen next, and then the Hu-ape spoke. “Ow, ow, ow, pain, PAIN!” Hu-ape fell on to the floor culled up in pain. The ponies were surprised it could speak their language. Twilight went over to the Hu-ape to see if she could help it. “What’s wrong?” “Cramp, CRAMP!” “Where?” The Hu-ape took a deep breath then said “EVREYWHERE!”
