//------------------------------// // "For I will always love you." // Story: Discord's Immortality // by Vanilla Mocha //------------------------------// "Fluttershy... please, don't leave me." Discord whispered as he extended his soft lion paw out for her to grab. "I... I couldn't bare to be alone again for so many more years! Y-you're the only friend I have... the only one that is a true, nice, kind pony... you gave me another chance when I didn't deserve it. Please... don't follow them. Don't follow in their hoofsteps... you can't-" "Betray you?" Fluttershy asked. She looked over her back at the saddened draconequus, and suddenly felt bad for him. "Fluttershy..." He whispered, "Why are you and your friends... doing this?" "It's for our own good, Discord. Soon we will see each other again. I'm not leaving you, we're all just... taking a break. I know it's rough... I know you don't like it... but I have to do this. For the good of all things in the end, this will work out. I promise." Fluttershy turned and looked at the tall creature. She sat her small yellow hoof in his large paw. "You mean... you'll come back for me, r-right...?" He held her hoof tightly. "Yes, Discord. Because I love you." Fluttershy smiled. She didn't care that she had just told him that she loved him... she could always say it was 'friendship love'. Even if she was blushing, it didn't matter to her right now. It was only she and Discord before he was to be banned from Equestria for ten years. The end was near. Sombra had returned and was taking over the Crystal Empire once more, and since his last defeat he had grown stronger and was able to defeat the Crystal Heart. He was moving into the rest of the land, and had put a curse on the royal sisters. The dark magic had forced them to break out into war with each other, causing the once rumored and feared Solar Empire and Lunar Republic to rebel against each other. The curse had also effected Princess Cadence. She had become the princess of hatred, and for Shining Armor, it was very hard to take care of her. The evil King Sombra had mentally hurt her, like how he cursed Celestia and Luna. Shining was the only one that could keep her sane- for a little while. She had began to enslave her subjects, like how their past ruler had done a thousand years ago. Shining tried to stop her, but it was no use- being an alicorn, she was much stronger than he, and the princess proceeded with the torture. The only royal that Sombra did not know about was Twilight Sparkle- last time he had seen her, she was a simple unicorn under Celestia's wing. She knew she had to keep herself a secret until she could gather an army and rebel against him, ending the Solar and Lunar war along with it. In Twilight's mind, once Sombra could be defeated, his magic would fade away. And that's what she was planning to do- defeat him once and for all; end all of the chaos. Chaos. That was the one thing stuck in the back of Twilight's mind. Discord had been reformed, and wasn't up to much chaos. The last time he did any major damage was not even after the Smooze, and now that she could look back on it, it was rather funny. He had become good, and was even offering to be her friend. But one thing, one significant detail, didn;t make sense. Discord wasn't having fun during any of Sombra's revenge. He could go against them, like how he did with Tirek. Did he learn his lesson? Twilight knew she could ponder about this later, when she wasn't about to fight. "Come on, Fluttershy. You'll see him later... in ten years. Don't worry, Discord. We'll be okay." Twilight reassured them. The group of ponies stood in the foyer of Twilight's castle. It consisted of Equestria's newest heroes, otherwise known as the mane six, Twilight's faithful friend Spike the dragon, and Discord, the draconequus. "Yeah! It'll be only ten years, Dissy. It'll be like five seconds to you, after being trapped in stone for over five-hundred years!" Rainbow Dash said with a smile, hovering above Twilight. "Don't. Call. Me. Dissy!" Discord replied, facepalming. Rainbow only rolled her eyes in return. Turning his attention back to Fluttershy, Discord asked, "Fluttershy, promise me one thing." "Y-yes?" Fluttershy asked, still blushing. It was true, she loved Discord. Her friends had already guessed months ago, but she had never directly admitted to it. And even if she was to hopefully see him again after the rebellion, she regretted nothing. "You promise... that you and I... we'll never leave each other. That- that nothing like this, will ever separate us... and that you'll come back to me, like how I will come flying back to you when I'm allowed inside Equestria again...?" Discord stuttered when he talked, and when some words such as "you" and "I" were spoken he got quiet. His fiddled with his paw and eagle talons, now that Fluttershy had pulled away. "Of course, Discord." Fluttershy replied quietly, looking up into his big red and yellow eyes. To many, this feature would appear scary, freighting to a lot of ponies. But Fluttershy... she was calm when she saw them. It was like a trap- she stepped in, and was stuck there, frozen in time. "Really?" He asked, a smile growing on his face. "Yes; For I will always love you."
