//------------------------------// // Victory with the Guild // Story: Mystery Dungeon: Equestrial Plains // by TheDeku //------------------------------// "Sweet Arceus that train ride felt like it took days." Keldeo complained, stepping out of the train and looking around. "Nice town here." "Who's Arceus?" Twilight asked, with agreement from the others. "The most powerful Pokemon in every aspect. It tones itself down in most battles it goes into to give foes a chance, but it doesn't need to in order to win easily." Blitzle laughed. "How powerful is most powerful?" Before Keldeo could answer, a building went up in flames. Keldeo launched forward, using his hooves as jets to go faster. "Is there anyo- anypony inside?" It asked a pony who had just come out. "No, just me." With that reply, Keldeo blasted Water Gun up the house so that it sprinkled down and put out the fire outside. It then rushed in to put out the remaining fire, in case there was one. It emerged soon after with odd news. "No fire inside and no signs of fire inside. This must have been started outside, likely on purpose for it to only catch this house on fire." Keldeo shook its head in confusion. "Why would anything start one fire on one specific house? If they didn't like you, they should have set lots of houses on fire to throw all of us off their trail." Twilight walked over to it, also confused. "There isn't any trace of a magical source. This fire was caused either naturally or by a Pokemon, even if natural was lighting striking wood that was brought over." Rainbow flew down to them. "Unless they were hiding really well, there aren't any Pokemon outside around here, I looked from above." Keldeo stomped the ground, frustrated. "This isn't funny trying to figure out who the arsonist is! It isn't a game!" Keldeo is then lifted up and thrown across town. A voice taunts everypony, but aimed at Keldeo. "Heh. It is to me, and you know as well as I do that I don't lose when we play games." A small Pokemon smaller than Sableye appears in front of them. It looked sort of like a rabbit, with big, pointy ears forming a V on its forehead. It had small wings attached to the back of its legs, and had a smirk that scared those that saw it. It also was grayscaled. Keldeo ran over and saw what threw it. "Victini? What was that for?" "Its a game. Me versus everyone, who will win? I think the answer is obvious, as I always win." Keldeo shook its head. "You don't sound like you. You don't really look like you either, and you definitely don't act like you. Therefore, you are not you." Victini, dodging Blitzle's lightning, shrugged. "Want proof?" Victini pointed a finger at the ground in front of Keldeo. "Searing Shot!" A ball of fire surrounded Victini, which then shot down at Keldeo's feet, igniting the ground. Keldeo began putting out the fire immediately. "Stay... Still!" Blitzle growled, trying to electrocute or slam into Victini, who was dodging. "How about no?" Victini used Psychic to pick up everypony and threw them in various directions. The only exceptions were Keldeo and Sableye. "Stupid imp thing... begone!" Sableye didn't move, and only looked confused. "Why do you not go flying away?" "Because." A fun-sounding voice said, causing Victini to look around. "As I really should know, Psychic doesn't affect Dark types like Sableye!" Victini is then knocked to the side by another Victini, this one in color. "Foolish faker, you really need to learn more about Pokemon you fight, not just the one you are!" Victini giggled to itself before going straight up. "Stop moving already!" Blitzle yelled up at it. "Why? It's far more fun to move! Oh, almost forgot about you." Victini held up its hands and caught the grey Victini with Psychic. "What the- What?" Twilight asked. "There are two of them now?" She looked towards Keldeo for an answer, who seemed just as confused. "Hmm... What to do with the me that isn't me but is pretending to be me to be mean as me despite not being me." Victini looked pleased with its sentence structure for about a second before both of them got slammed into by Rainbow. Keldeo took the opportunity to run away. "Owchie. That kinda hurt, you know." Victini dusted itself off. The grey Victini did much of the same. "That's cheating. I don't like cheaters. BURN!" Rainbow barely avoided the Searing Shot, but now had the grey Victini chasing her, the colored one close behind. "Just what I needed, getting chased by Pokemon smaller than a filly." Rainbow complained, trying everything she could to get them off her tail. She flew close to the ground and saw Keldeo running over, Genesect and another Pokemon close behind. "Rainbow! Straight up, sharp turn!" Keldeo called out. She did so, and the two Victini's got caught on by Genesect's Techno Blast with Douse Drive. Genesect then lunged forward and held them both down. "Nice shot, Genesect! Now, you may be trying to use your other ability to cause Genesect to overload, but it already planned for that. All you're going to do is make it stronger by charging it up. Meloetta, do your thing." Keldeo nodded to the other Pokemon, who sat down on Genesect's shoulder. Meloetta began to sing at a consistent pitch and volume. The colored Victini began humming the note as well, but the other one twitched and tried to escape the grip of Genesect. After a few seconds, it dissolved into a dark mist, which dissipated. Genesect let go of Victini, and Meloetta stopped singing and gave Victini a hug. "It has been too long since I visited you, Victini." Meloetta said. Victini struggled out of the hug, a huge grin on its face. "Agreed. Good to see you, and good to be the last me standing. Well, floating. Flying? Maybe- Eh, whatever. I'm me, that's what matters." Applejack came over cautiously. "Is this one on our side?" Keldeo nodded. "This is Victini, the hyperactive Victory Pokemon. You thought Mew was fun-loving, Victini exists in order to have fun and play games." Twilight came over. "Nice to meet you, Victini. Keldeo, what did you mean when you said its other ability?" Victini giggled. "I have unlimited energy in me, and I can share it by touching, like this!" It flew over and sat on Applejack, who shuddered for a second before running around. "Woah! I feel like I could buck Sweet Apple Acres by hitting the ground!" Twilight blinked to make sure she was seeing it right, then took a deep breath. "Victini, one rule." Victini stopped flying in circles and looked at her. "Is it a game?" Twilight nodded. "Its called the 'Don't give Pinkie Pie more energy than she already has' game. The rule is simple: Don't share your energy with Pinkie." Victini considered. "Barring any circumstances in which it would be a good idea, sure. Who's Pinkie?" The answer then jumped out from behind Twilight. "I'm Pinkie!" Ponyta shook her head. "We should head to the Guild, let them know we're back." ----------------------------------------------- Blitzle walked up to the tent with the other Pokemon. The ponies and Spike were heading to their own homes. It felt good to be able to go back home, as he always thought of it. He stepped on the grate. "Uh... Blitzle!" Diglett called up, upon seeing the foot. "You guys are back!" Blitze called down. "These guys are with us, don't bother checking them in." "Oh. Okay then, come on in!" Diglett yelled up. Blitzle led the group in, and was greeted by Lopunny. "Welcome back. I take it your mission went well?" Ponyta nodded. "Yeah. It's good to be back, though." Chatot smiled. "It's always good to go on a mission, and success feels even better." Bidoof and Diglett muttered in agreement. Blitzle spoke up. "I have a few things to say. First, this is Keldeo. Second, this is Victini." He indicated the new arrivals. "Third and finally," He then Wild Charged into Diglett, shoving him against the wall. "Where's Diglett?" Bidoof backed up. "What did you do that for? That is Diglett!" Blitzle glared at Diglett. "You are not the Guild's guard. You are a fraud." Diglett looked terrified. "What do you mean?" "You hesitated when I stepped on the grate. You didn't demand that you see every single foot. Also, you were affected by Wild Charge." Diglett's expression changed to a defeated expression. "It was worth a shot." Diglett then faded away, revealing a strange bug creature. "I give up."
